need to break in 4 spiders
I'm jealous...... Thought about getting rid of these 1500D's, getting 2 3000D's and buying your SS XXX......what ya think... That MOAB is sexy though, it should do kickass this weekend. I'm pullin for ya man.. Were you ok last night? I couldn't get ahold of you, and just wanted to see if you were ok...I waited at the shop till around 9:15 or so and left since you didn't come....but I understand the Maria thing so its kewl... I see you moving up, I need to keep pace for Team Sundown Dallas!

missinglinkaudio ups your voltage
I've got a Chrysler Sebring, with the 3.0L Mitsubishi motor. Do you make one for my vehicle/engine setup? I'd buy this right now, if you do and see what these Sundown 1500D's do at 15.5 volts.....

3000d at .5 ohms?
Brian has a 3000D running at 1 ohm. Clamped it after running it all day and it showed 2,986 watts @ 13.9x somethin volts. He hasn't dropped it yet to .5 ohm...But I'm sure it will be crazy. I have two SAZ 1500's at .5ohm each strapped and its insane....and to think...I have the little brother compared to the big brother(SAZ 3000D) Haven't clamped mine yet but I don't have a clamp meter either..

New Memphis Mojo's
I heard the new MOJO 12" on a Rockford tb2000d amplifier the other night. Looks different but about the same as the old one I had. Better cooling system than the old one, but still a 90% SPL Driver. I don't like the dark design of it, especially the rubber boot that covers the whole magnet, makes you wanna believe they are trying to hide something. I have my opinions though.... Nice driver, but the new styling isn't very appealing to me....and it never will be, since I don't like the design of the JL's.

Another 1st place finish
On the Term Lab in the kick panel. Even on the street beat tuned all the way down to 30 Hz it still metered @ a 145.9 or something with amps turned down. Pretty good, for my current set-up in the Sebring... Thanks for the praise guys..I'm kicking as much butt as I can......I want to upgrade to (2) 3000D's very soon!

Another 1st place finish
Yea its pretty good. I'm very happy to be in the 150+ range with 1 12" woofer. These amps never get warm at all and I'm running each at 0.5 ohm even daily but with the gains turned way down. For it being a trunk car, I'm doing awesome. The highest trunk car besides me that I've seen come out to one of the shows is a 148. Robert has 3 10's in a Nissan Sentra and does 148's all day long in a 32 Hz box. Thanks guys.

Another 1st place finish
Went to a Texas Bass Productions event yesterday on Sunday and placed 1st in pro trunk by a mile. Did a 149.9 on 1st run Did a 150.1 on 2nd run Did a 150.9 on 3rd run No one else even close to me in a trunk car. I believe the next highest trunk car was a 146.x Every one couldn't believe I was using only 1 subwoofer. Their was a nice Dodge Magnum there with 4 American Bass 12" Subs with some 3000d amplifier. Was talking a little noise to me about his setup, and being the humble person I am I didnt say anything. He ended up doing a 148.6 to my 150.9. He was a little puzzled but was a good sport about it and shook my hand. Everyone is asking about the amps and where to get them. They are working great, just like they always have.... Perform solid every time!

15 AA HAVOC vids and pics
151.3 at 34Hz ? Nice score. What kind of amp is being used, batteries being used?

Wiring Kit
Like Jim said... 1/0 Kicker Hyperflex or some Knu Konceptz 1/0. Both are expensive, but you have to pay for the good stuff.

first big three
I'd say on the cap, get rid of it and take the money you get and buy you a deep cycle cattery...i.e...a Kinetik or a Yellow top Optima. As for the wire gauge..for no more then your using, some Kicker Hyperflex 4 gauge or some Knu Konceptz 4 gauge should work nicely. You shouldn't need 0 gauge for only 600 RMS, but I could be wrong. You might try going with 0 gauge anyways so in the future if you do decide to upgrade in terms of power, you already have the wire to supply the power. Big 3 is quick way to improve your overall charging system. When I did it, I noticed a great difference. My alternator is easy to get to from the top. Just grounded it to the frame with 0 gauge, ran 0 gauge positive from alternator to battery post, and grounded my front battery to the frame with 0 gauge. I'd say do this with even the smallest of stereo systems, as it helps quite a bit.

cap or no cap?
Stick it on craigslist.com .....you never know...
- 147.2...

"the big 3" question
No but it would be better. Like the marine battery you were talking about. I say, just buy a yellow top optima and put it near your amplifier and it will love it..should be all you need for what it sounds like you want to do.

"the big 3" question
With a lot of modifying and crap, you can do a two alternator setup, that will out put the same as 1 H/O alternator. But why not by the H/O alternaotr? By the time your done buying all brackets and fabrication an buying a 2nd stock alternator..you will probably have spent what you would have on a new H?O alternator and you wont have all the headaches of rigging up brackets and whatnot. Google Alterstart alternators....online store for LOAD BOSS alts....they are right in my backyard(Dallas). So it was easy for me to go get one, and they are reasonably priced.

Lets talk about
The boxes I've seen Brian build with this formula have worked. He did it in my car, and said "Hey 70Hz is your peak, we need to tune to 60Hz since your car has a 10Hz increase." So being that the smart person he is, and the lesser educated I am, I said lets do it, knowing that it is a high #, but I know the man knows what he's doing(SPL Wise). Went out, but didnt account for 86 degrees on a cloudy supoosedly rain ridden day and do a 151.3 on a single 12" SPLX Soundstream. Everyone was asking , if I had 2 or 3 subs...

"the big 3" question
Like denalilvr has stated....its how long that alternator is going to live...mine was close to crapping out before I changed it. Keep the gains down...and you might prolong the life of it, but it will still be shortlived. Just because that amp is pushing out 2200 watts on 2 ohms doesn't mean you have to utilize it all. Hell I have 2 1500D's strapped together for 3000 watts RMS, but I've got them turned way down for street beat. Maybe 2000 watts total. And with your stock electrical system, you will be nowhere near 14.4v to see that claimed 2200 watts anyways. Especially on some long hard notes. Do yourself a favor and get a bigger alternator now, so you don't have this problem in the future while your driving down the road and your alternator decides to crap out.
-
"the big 3" question
I'd say get a high output alternator if you are wanting to run that kind of power, even since that 2200 at 2 ohm is a 14.4V like denaillvr stated. By adding a 2nd and possibly 3rd battery...your straining the alternator that much harder to charge the extra batteriers and stock alternators dont keep up that well at least not on my car. I gained 1 dB switching alternators. Load Boss is a good place to check out as well as Excessive ampergae..both are reasonably priced with good products. Once you do it.. you'l be like "Man, this is a big improvement." As well as it will charge your extra batteriers and keep your voltage up so it doesn't dip too low and cause an electrical fire. Hope this helps.

Team Sundown Audio Dallas Tx
Yea a nice # on a low tone is nice too. But this box is strictly an SPL box, so why not get every bit out of it?

Team Sundown Audio Dallas Tx
Mine was in the passenger kick panel... 1st run did a 151.1 and 2nd run did a 151.3

Team Sundown Audio Dallas Tx
Yes...TL scores....I was expecting a 149-150ish.... Didnt even get to charge the Kinetik up..so on a half drained 2000 HC Kinetik.. I still did 151.3. Will charge before next show.. Looking for a 152

cars or suvs
1 sub 2 amps and 1 battery did me a 151.3 You can be as loud as you want. It's all in the install.

cars or suvs
1 12" Soundstream SPLX Quad 1 ohm coil Thats it...

cars or suvs
I've heard SUV's are easier, but I havent owned one to know firsthand. I've always been told a trunk car wont meter as well as SUVS. But I just did a 151.3 in my Chrysler Sebrings trunk on 2 Sundown 1500D's strapped with each amp at 0.5 ohm. Their is a big craze now with Honda CRX's ... apparently a few guys around here have learned that the CRX meters louder than any other vehicle. I kinda believed it when I saw a guy with a red CRX do a 147.1 with 3 10" MA Audio's(the cheap ones) on a 75x4 4 channel amp.. I think you can make anything loud enough if you try hard enough.

back with the SS
I like to be loud as possible, but I want it to look good too. I don't want just some random stuff thrown into the trunk with an ugly messy setup. I want it to look nice, not just be obnoxiously loud... Thanks for the complement Jim
