  1. hmmm... i've been doing my homework but for some reason t/s numbers don't really click for me. it seems like the changes made should make this a nice ib 8" canidate. correct?
  2. thats cool. if you would like something for later runs let me know. i have plenty of spare time and design is something i actually enjoy doing (and am good at if i do say so myself ) so the offer is open.
  3. looks interesting. i've been looking for some 8"s to run ib in my build. do you still need help on the packaging? i would definitely be willing to help out on it.
  4. glad im over this one. i have been looking for 5 channel amps that are nice for a 2 way active/sub set up. seems like a 75x2,150x2,500x1 would be a great seller since everybody and their little sister are going active. there really isn't much available that is reputable and doesn't cost a grip.
  5. since we're on the topic of shelf life. i have a good amount of damplifier from about 3 years ago (when it came on a roll). still good?
  6. i can dig that. i have been going through the same thing with some (non-audio) products i am developing. how about a pre-sale? i'm in for 2.
  7. thats pretty sick bro... gives me an idea...
  8. looks great... now get to work on those 250.2.
  9. so are you gonna run any of your awesome deals for us ant?
  10. good stuff, still a little over my head but i get the idea. basically the class ab amp offers less distortion than a class d, and as long as it is effiecint it will work fine.
  11. awesome, i'll just wait i geuss...
  12. awesome, thanks guys. now i just have to wait for the new sundowns. if anyone is bored and feeling smart, i still wouldn't mind an explanation of how the signal is reproduced and how that effects each class, but i got what i needed.
  13. you can also wait a couple months for the w505. looks like its worth the wait to me.
  14. i read what i could find on what makes an amp what class but nothing on how each performs. why i'm wondering is i'm considering using an ab amp bridged for my sub. i'm trying for what i would imagine is described as LSQ.
  15. any update on these? i didn't know they were going to do 1000 bridged. this is the perfect solution for my build 250 x 2 front stage, 1000 x 1 sub. put me down for 2.
  16. insane attention to detail. makes my head hurt... seriously.
  17. any 10s left? pm is full.
  18. i got the flat response, but was kind of lost on the "lower playing capabilities". i guess you meant capable of playing lower frequencies. *edit* i know you're not a fan of my 5.1 set-up but, personal feelings aside, would you agree that ib would be a good match?
  19. the trunk just has to be completely sealed from the cabin correct? you make it sound pretty bad. the low power/output isn't a problem. are there any advantages besides space savings?
  20. I'm thinking about doing an IB set-up for space reasons. What can I expect sound-wise when compared to sealed and ported enclosures?
  21. awesome post... it's one of only a couple that have been encouraging, and you sound like you know what you are talking about. i don't plan on doing it on the level that you have but i think the idea is the same. i will be using the alpine single din center chanel speaker, which i believe is dual mids with a single tweeter, with the f350 providing 50w x 5. because of the low power i will proably use coaxials (cdt, rainbow, or most likely re) with the understanding that i might need to upgrade down the line (i have a set of cdt hd-62/m6 that i could use). i was also checking out the audison 5.1MT which would be nice if i decide to upgrade, but for now i am just going to do the a simple install. i would definitely like to see pics.
  22. from what i understand from a guy i talked to that had the f350 and now has the 701 is that you can adjust it to stereo for music.
  23. a 2/4.1 will definitely sound better, but thats not what i'm after. i'm looking to do something as a part of an entire car build, something that flows with the style of the car. a simple 5.1 system will do that. some people like sq, some like spl. you're not going to tell the other side don't do that cause it won't have good clarity or don't do that because it won't be loud enough. theres no point in comparing a 5.1 system to a 2/4.1 because they are built for different purposes. if i can get decent sound and have this cool little feature that makes my car just a little different than everybody else then i'm happy. if i can't get decent sound then everything will come out and i will do something else.
  24. you know how when someone asks "what do i get for my car" and everybody says "what are your goals?"... its cool if you don't understand or like it, but it fits my build. i don't know why as soon as i say 5.1 everybody (4 forums) acts like its unheard of. i mean it's a mono center channel... nothing else is different. honestly if it can perform as well as a high end oem system i will be satisfied, because thats the type of car i'm building. not everybody wants the same thing every time.
