I would go for around 1 cube per sub then. Depends what you listen to aswell, if it has alot of double kick you'll want to reduce the overhang with a compact enclosure but a low tuning. It'll make for good upper and low end performance, along with 4 drivers that will cover the 'L' part in 'SQ'

What application, SQ or ""SQL""? 0-6-1.2cf is what we suggest, with 28-32Hz tuning. Smaller enclosure will provide a tighter sound with the larger giving more boom and overhang. I would probably go for a 4cf enclosure with a 30-32Hz tuning for all 4 :-)
  3. Big well done for supporting your family through the tough ordeal, cant have been easy for you. Wish you and your family the best for the future. Good to have you back!
  4. The Clamshell creates what I would call a Phantom port length. The port is calculated on port area and box volume. In my case 462 sq.in of Port and around 65-70 cubes. Nets us a tuning of around 28-32Hz give or take.. This is with 0" port length. The Clam itself is is around 40" long if we measured the angle/slopes. The distance from the end of the port to the back of the enclosure is 20" (it was 30" reduced it to raise tuning and stop the windsheild from breaking every time we went over 158+) So, in my case any port length drops the tuning. This is not to say it wont gain me, It might. The enclosure is far from finished. We have a bunch of tweaks to make and test with and without port length, try some phase plugs and 45s.. A combo of these or few of them will gain us, but this year was about having fun and making a noise.. we'll be working on things over winter for dB Drag next season.. So WATCH THIS SPACE
  5. Video produced by Reelmotion from the ACE Cafe meet few weeks back If you cant hack the sick ass VWs/BMWs/Audis/MERCs... fwd to 3:13
  6. I think ALOT of people forget that when they compare like for like from other companies with anything made by Fi Motors aren't pulled from the shelf and bolted on a basket, it spends certain amount of time being machined and dialed in per application. So add in the cost of the machinery, labor, and TIME. And they wonder why there are some of the worlds most exotic cars bannerised on the Fi website Looking fwd to the NEOS

  10. According to the seller it does. Got the following in an email from the seller: I can tell you is that RE Audio aka Destij Engineering designed and build subwoofers for Ascendant Audio when they first started. The first generation of the Ascendand Audio Atlas and Avalanche were engineered and built at RE's location in Henderson. These were the exact same dustcaps. This custom prototype was designed for Ascendant Audio as something bigger than the Avalanche. Perhaps, the prototype version of the Havoc. Whether or not Ascendant Audio is willing to admit it or not, it is clear and evident that the engineering behind their first few generations of subwoofers were not in house as Chad and his father Dale has no manufacturing experience and relied on the build house of RE Audio. This is pure fact and can be confirmed by hundreds in the industry. This prototype was designed and built by RE Audio for Ascendant Audio. And as me and Nick alread said - It doesn't!! This guy is talking utter CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

That has nothing to do with Scott when he was at RE, nothing at all.
