  1. X2 I just like to tube/ski behind them!
  2. In Thief River Falls? Yep, stopped in Detroit Lakes though for dinner and a hotel. I grew up here and damn it feels good to be staying in a spot over looking the lake. Nice. We had a Digi-Key (also in Thief River Falls) rep come to our class and give a presentation on all that they have to offer. Their biggest sales pitch was the fact they are right next to the Arctic Cat facility. Oh and the female to male ratio is IIRC 3 to 1. Nobody from my class, all seven of us, didn't really bite on his offers but we got free pizza out of the whole thing. He was far less convincing than the FBI recruiter. 3 to 1 ??? I assume you have never stepped foot in the town. Digikey is indeed right across the "street". Where in MN are you? Does 3 to 1 seem low, high, or butt ugly? I am in Winona, I am usually up in the cities a couple weekends a month for tournaments though. I will be moving to Richmond, VA in the next 3 months, however.

  4. That is RMS. Only big moneygrubbing, corporations use peak power to describe their subs They like to get the end-user all excited over, I hate to say it, MOAR POWER! Home theater for a Q huh? What PA amp?
  5. "
Available options and what they do:

Bp Power - This option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack. All of these features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application.
" This is straight from Fi's website. So now you would have 1200-1500 watts of power handling. Considering your abundant use of "More Power" icons, I would like to ask why are you looking at the Q? Do you have an amplifier in mind? Fi Car Audio Website
  6. In Thief River Falls?
  7. Why do you want to put speakers in the rear doors? In my opinion, rear fill in most vehicles is useless but if you have a specific reason as to why you want it then we can sort out your other questions. By the way, what vehicle? Reason for edit: Clarification
  8. Stickers look awesome! I may have to have a chat with you about joining the squad...
  9. Wish my gf would allow that. Sounds kinky. Man I miss my high school best friend. we'd talk about sex all the time. I guess when you grow up you're supposed to mature out of that. But that was also high school, the time of naivety. Don't take this as an insult, but rather constructive criticism. . . . Your woman will do anything you want, you just have to throw ideas out there and be cunning in your persuasion. Each woman is different, but if you know HOW to talk to them, you are in no matter what. I've always used persuasion to get a woman to do whatever I want. Be prepared to give when you receive though. Some people don't understand this concept. Even in general life some take more than their fair share. Common courtesy and a willingness to please goes a long way in life and in the bedroom.
  10. I should try this drinking thing you guys speak of. Seems to be all the rage these days.... NAAAH! I am going to keep riding the alcohol free train!
  11. Welcome! I'll be moving to Richmond within the next 6 months or so. RE is an excellent choice!
  12. Ive always heard you say that there were no need for rears, but does it hurt anything by having them? What about just running cheap coaxials in the back? It will hurt your wallet. If you do buy cheap speakers for the rear it defeats the purpose of having a good sounding front stage. Your audio will only sound as good as its weakest element. I can hear my front stage loud and clear in my backseat, it's a Club Cab Ram, but its close to your size.
  13. Noted. lol.. that gets me every time.
  14. Careful, that song gets stuck in your head. At least it got stuck in mine, which on some levels is slightly disturbing. On another note, does anyone else think that topics are getting out of control around here with the unnecessary name calling and somewhat ignorant statements made in thread topics that have been answered time and time again? Would I be a complete jerk to copy and paste the a link to the rules and guidelines for posting threads instead of answering an asinine question?
  15. How do you like wrapping with the ponte? Build looks awesome!

Corners are going to be rounded over and I am going to cover the box with carpet and possibly vinyl the top. I am not an upholsterer though so we will see how that one goes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVrPat_Esbw

    Getting closer...

It is ok, really livens up the day. I consider it a good day when no one gets injured by the 25 year old table saw that randomly stops in the middle of a cut. Never using that thing again! Thanks

Ouch.... I guess I couldn't understand you while you were attempting to break everything in my garage with your extreme ADD episodes. I'm sorry But as for the relay, if it is hidden behind the seat it cannot be ugly and how common is it to blow the remote turn on? I haven't heard of that very much but since you dubbed me a noob, I guess I haven't been around long enough. Again, thanks for your help yesterday.

Parts Express is not delivering until Wednesday and the wiring will be cleaned up in the days following that. All the pieces for the box are cut, they just need to be assembled. Internal airspace will be 2.46 cubes gross, I may end up a bit on the small side for ported specs but we will see how it goes. todd.brust seems to think that putting a relay in to split the remote turn on wire between the two amps was a mistake. Anybody have opinions on this or pros/cons of using a relay vs. just using a jumper between the remote turn ons?

Power!! I'll be able to make progress on the box for the xcon this weekend. Plans are to go 2.5 cubes tuned to 30 hz using a 3" aero. Sub rear firing and port down firing. The box is going to be bolted to the brackets that the previous box was bolted to in between the front seats.

Murphy's Law struck my engine bay today. Somehow while I was wiring up the new battery terminals, the negative side fell onto its post and the positive was hooked up and a connection from the positive fell onto one of my brake lines thus melting a hole and starting a brake fluid spray and fire. That was fun!... Not. Now I have to take it to the shop and get that fixed while my ball joints are being replaced. Project is officially on hold until I get out of the FML funk.

I put the grommets in for the wiring. I'm not sure what I want to use for the oval at the bottom. I tried making a mold out of fiberglass using the old foil and tape method and it just didn't turn out. Back to the drawing board for that. Any suggestions you guys have would be great!
  24. I can't even fathom how loud 18s will be in that cab. Should be one hell of an install!
  25. casflan replied to casflan's topic in Build Logs
I'll agree with that. It's slowly coming together. I'll let you know when I get a design together so we can get to building! I completely believe this as well. Again, I agree and can't wait to find out!! Agreed. I still have to run 1/0 power and ground, finish the amp rack, build the box and center console but I am waiting on some goodies from Knu and Parts Express and for the final specs on the sub. I may have a small update later tonight.
