  1. I am currently building my first enclosure. When it comes to building the double front baffle should I do choice 1 or 2. 1. Should I glue the two pieces together. Then router my hole for my speaker. 2. Router my two holes. Then glue my boards together. Thnaks I know this is a simple just trying to make it easier on myself.
  2. Pm sent just let me lnow
  3. Port building and grey goose
  4. My port is going to be 7 inches wide by 11.5 inches tall so that will give me 16.89insquare of port area If I make my port 6.25 inches wide to bring my frequency down my port are changes to 14.09. I believe this should still be ok just wanted some opinions. Is there a direct better choice in this matter? I have chosen 2-12" Zcon D2 cresendo 4k power my concern is cabin gain in frequency that is why I am looking at lowering my box tuning.
  5. If I went sealed 5cuft is the largest enclosure I can build. I have been looking at building a ported enclsore and I have been able to make the box large just in two peices to finish assembly in trunk. which would give me around 5 cuft net for my ported enclosure. I currently have been listening to alot rap/hip hop, altered music, dubstep music. Anything to make the current single twelve boom. (it doesnt do it very well) it is in a sealed enclosure. I added poly fill to it and sounded better, just not really the loud take your breath away type of bass I am after. Looking at 2 Zcon 12's D2 2 bc2000D's strapped for power 2 d3400 batts(one trunk one upfront) 270amp alt big 3 2 1/0 runs Trunk location, forward speaker and port firing. ALSO I am looking at my enclosure design and If i go with the 7" wide port i will have 16.39 insq'd of port area tuned to 32.8 hrtz. I have been thinking about changing my port with to 6.25 and keeping the same length to get closer to 30 hrtz on my box tuing but It shrinks my port area to 14.09 insq'd. From the articles I have read Most people when they post there setups the regulars will point out they could use more port for the set up. Looking to find out if most agree with trying to keep as much port area as possible? With the change in my enclosure would this still be suffiecient space? I have a question on my front baffle as well. If I double baffle and use the outer to recess my sub. should I still double layer the baffle I attach my sub too? and still use the outer for my recess look. If I missed some information sorry. I will just have to add later.
  6. Was thinking about xcons in a sealed box any thoughts
  7. That is great. I ask such simple questions compared to some on this site yet someone always is kind enough to answer them for me. Thanks man much appreciated.
  8. I am looking at making bus bars. I have seen some from a guy everyone calls toolmaker. If I choose to make my own, Aluminum should be sufficient for this correct? I have not found any reason why I shouldn't. Most of what I read states just that the aluminum is less durable and doesn't rust say if I went with steel. thoughts? On the sub ohm question I just wanted to make sure I understand it correctly before I order. With what I have learned I was looking at ordering the 2 ohm models and running them in parallel/parallel to get .5 ohm. But I believe this may be incorrect with some more reading. My plan was to run the two subs off of both amps strapped together so that one power unit would control both subs in the common chamber enclosure. This way I didn't have to gain match each amp so they wouldn't cancel each other out with different power being applied during use. Hope I explained that correct.
  9. So I am looking at running 2 bc2000 amps strapped on 2 12 subs. I read a post earlier today and cannot find it now about ohms with the subs and how it changes due to the guy had strapped amps. More Basic questions needing understanding before purchase. Which ohm should I choose for my subs 1 0r 2 ohm? What will the different outputs change to due to me strapping them?
  10. Thanks man appreciated
  11. OK how do I determine how much battery I will need? If I leave my stock battery upfront and us both XS D34000 in rear of car would that be sufficient? Do I need to look at a different model of battery? This is my first full blown system. I have one 12 now but not happy and not the correct sub for me. I am just wanting to upgrade to a better system that just gets down right nasty loud and low. But I also want to have respect for sound and what it is. I would like to see some cup holder movement. Not sure how else to explain this. I am pretty sure I would not be able to build a box for the fifteen to fit in my trunk. I would have height issues with that size of sub and stil being able to make properly sized box. I am intending to make the sub forward fire with the port facing same direction to also help with car vibration of trunk. This is why I am looking at 2 12's. I have thought about using the sa8 v-2 as a door mounted midbass sub or used on my rear deck for midbass. Has this been done or is this just a bad idea?
  12. So I am concerned with weight. I have sent some requests out and waiting on replys to see where my suspension upgrades will range from. This was my plan on my orginal setup: 2-Zcon or Xcon 12 D2 subs 2-crescendo BC2000d strapped(already own) 2-XS BC3400D batteries(already own) Multiple runs of knuconcepts 0 gauge oxy free(already comlpleted Alternator upgrade Front sound stage to follow: New Idea I like what I have read and seen only in video of the SA8-v2 sub. I think its pretty amazing for such a small sub. So this was my thought. I would use 4 of these subs in a ported enclsoure. I would end up with more cone area than 2 15's. Possible save a few pounds to. Opinions, thoughts, Ideas
  13. I am trying to look for new springs to use on the struts. Can anyone help me with my search? not having much luck
  14. Been looking at air helpers. Found a couple places that sell them and not to badly priced. I have used these on my trucks when hauling trailers. I felt it helped even smooth put my ride on the truck when i wasnt towing. I will let you know what I find out.
  15. Got a package today!!!!!! What could it be? A little power adjustment OH YES excited to see this. headed to storage for now..
  16. Speaker box material... I have been told to use Mdf. I have seen other types of wood use as well, what are these other types?
  17. looking at the VM-1 for a volt meter. vs. the stinger model. Are there any issues with using the VM-1? I just noticed alot of people us teh stinger model.
  18. Earlier in this thread there was a post about not to use the DD-1 to set amp gain. Is this still true today? Are there opinions about using the CC-1? Can you explain further?
  19. Thanks this is what I thought but after 95honda posted that I needed the clarification. fusing and wire to order and then start on enclosure.
  20. KnuKonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 is the wire I purchased. From what I read this is not the CCA wire they sell. It is called something else. Am I correct with this information.
  21. Oh yea.... Are there any reasons why you wouldn't choose a circruit breaker over a fuse? I read somewhere that the circuit breakers are rated differently than the fuse any truth to this?
  22. I figured it was overkill actually but its done now. I would like to seal trunk off once I get box built and installed. I am assuming this will help right? Also it was recommended that I make 2 runs of 1/0 off my front battery to my rear battery. Then two runs off back battery, one to each amp. Is this excessive? I have 2 XS D3400 should be here on monday for power. one for front and one for rear. Also I am installing 2 crescendo BC2000D strapped to power 2 Zcons. I plan on upgrading alt but funds not there yet. I am needing to order more wire for Big 3 upgrade and if I needed to make this second run I would like to order it all at once.
  23. Maybe this will help me get at answer? The only amp I have had in the past 10 years I bought in January. Had someone install everything including the wiring and fuse. Now I want to upgrade system and I wanted to do it myself. So I cannot find a crescendo manual to read. I bought my amps off this web site and they did not include a manual. I cannot locate a manual online either. Sorry but I feel like I have to pull teeth on this web site sometimes for answers. I have been reading alot of things on this site and have found alot, I mean alot, of useful information and helped me with my purchases. I guess I am unable to ask the correct question to get answers. Can someone please help.
  24. Explain Check Don's website. The knowledge is there. So with what I have read so far I need to cover the bottom 1/3 of my car. Window line down. Still reading. Have I missed anything yet.
