Super flexable too. Had to drill a hole while running wire but its ready. Here are some pics. Arrival of Box!!!! This Stuff is HUGE!!! Holy Cow Amazing the size difference Everything removed for wire install
  3. Well yesterday finally got descent weather to let the kids play outside so I can work on my build. Yesterday I was able to start with the sound deadner I had purchased several months ago. I am going to have to order more I did not have enough. Also I am going to order the SDS deadner next time. I have read alot of good things about don and his product and he responeded within hours of my email about his products. enough talking here are my pics. So excited to get this started. First piece!!!! My Helpers!!!
  4. So we finally got some decent weather and have started with my install. I had ordered some knuconcepts 1/0 gauge and it arrived it mail today. I had installed all the sound deadener I had which wasn't enough. I decided to make the positive run with my wire that just so happen to arrive. I was able to complete run so it’s ready for next step. Now I am looking at the rest of my electrical and what I will need. I have 2 XS D3400 on their way. One of which I am thinking of using as my main car battery. (This was the battery recommended off of XS website for my vehicle.) the second will be for my audio system. I want to ensure I use the correct fusing for this install. I believe I need 2-300 amp fuses before each positive connection of the batteries within 12 inches of post. Is this correct? I have two Crescendo BC2000D amplifiers I was planning on installing. These units do not have fuses on them. What is the fuse size recommended to run in the positive power wire running to amp? How do you calculate this? Should I run a single positive lead on the rear battery to a distribution block and then go to amps? Fuse before T and/or after T? Should I just make two separate leads from rear battery to amplifier with inline fuses? Also I was getting ready to start with my big 3 upgrade. When I looked at the power connection I have a positive connection point which is separate from battery. Also I have to remove bumper to get to front battery, yes it sucks. Do I need to upgrade wire to that location? Then replace the wire that comes off this unit? Haven't really investigated yet kids waked up from nap. I will include picture of connection point. I had a shop install my current system in January and this is how they connected the 4 gauge. Is this recommended or just convenient for the installer?
  5. I have an arc audio 1200.1 amp I have not used it yet but wanted to see if anyone on this thread had any opinions on it. I also have bc2000D amplifier. I realize the wattage difference. I have been told that the arc will be very effecient. Should I expect the same out of the crescendo? Just exploring options. My build if for my daily driver.
  6. Sorry this is for dual 12's, I have 2-Crescendo bc2000D's zero gauge and big 3 batteries ( this is my next project) Chrysler sebring 2007 Daily driver
  7. This is my box design. After designing it I am not sure which sub to choose I have been looking at either the xcon or zcon. Also I looked at not making my port width as wide say 5.75 inches but not sure how much port area I should have. port length, box size, and design are all in question looking for advice on how to improve this design. Thanks in advance. I
  8. Who can I talk/pay for some help with my enclosure/ deciding which sub would be best for my enclosure size. using SSA subs.
  9. still very interested let me know money is ready
  10. tryin to load photo hope this works I don't mind I will get educated from your post
  11. How do I upload pictures or attachments? This is my daily driver but you never know. but yes daily driver. I would like it to shake the cups in my cup holders.
  12. i haven't purchased anything electrical yet. I have ordered enough 1/0 knuconcepts wire for big 3 upgrade and run to rear of car. looking at moving front battery to rear as well. and using xs d3100 batteries probably two. haven't chosen amp until i am sure which sub I will run. just so you know I have been looking at the cresendo bc2000 for power and was thinking of 2 of them. I have attached my box design I made on sketch up. box size 34d*34w*13h with a center slot port. I am definately not 100% on making the port correct length and width for frequency. all advice is appreciated. I am learning as I go.
  13. so looking at specs and what little I know , I will loose a bit in Xmax but confused on the rest and what they actually do. Also save me $100 a sub. Just looking for opinion or any information you can give me thanks.
  14. I have been working on an enclosure for 2 SSA Zcons. Spent the last week on these. Learning how to use sketch up and trying to understand torres calculation tool. I have come up with two designs using these. I am looking for some advice from someone to help me confirm my that what I have done is correct to what has been drawn. I could send my sketchup design to you for advice. I have used the torres calculation tuner to determine my port lengths and sizes. I am not 100% sure I have fully understand all senarios which change my calculations in this calculator.
  15. Thanks for the advice I believe I am going with 2 12's . I had read the specs and that is why i am now unhappy. I read the specs just did not understand what everything ment. Once again thanks for all the help. I have started designing a box with sketch up. Also used speaker box tuning calculator. Would anyone volunter looking over my specs i have used and my box design so I feel better about the port being correct. or not. or how I could possible improve it.
  16. So by what you stated it would be better to use birch due to its resistance to water than the MDF. Would coating with a Polyurithane be better than a resin coating?
  17. Being that you've weakened it with resin I wouldn't recommend anyone I know even pay for it. See your local CL. That is what you'll get. So would you recommend any type of coatings for the interior of an enclosure? Why do you feel that the resin has made it weaker? Can you explain more why your opinion is this way? I would like more detail about this. Educating minds await
  18. personally I would pick 2-12's over 4-8's because I think the BL kicks ass however with your size limits, one BL might be a better idea you say you want cups shaking in your cup holders? sun visor movement? get 1 ssa zcon http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/58656-ssa-zcon-12-d2-and-crescendo-bc2000/?hl=zcon i just hope you have the power to slam it Why would you choose one twelve? Is this due to box size and amount of room I have? I Currently was convinced by my local audio store to buy an arc 12D4 and I am not happy with it at all. Not Loud enough. I would have reservations about going with one twelve again. What are your opinions.
  19. I want loud low music. Listen to alot of dubstep, electronic type of music. But still listen to rock and roll, 50-60's, alternative, country every now and then. I would like to be able to shake the cups in my cup holders if I want to and still retain quality sound when listening to other types of music.
  20. I want loud low tones. At this point I am not planning on competeing. This is just for my DD. I believe from reading i would like a SQL type of system. Don't hold me to that still learning more details on the differences. Loud vibrating the entire car, moving the cups in there cup holder type of sound.
  21. I have been up and down on what I wanted to put in my trunk. After some help from others on here I have got a starting point to get some good opinions. If this is still not a good starting point just tell me what I need to do. So I have measured my trunk and found that 34L x 34W x13H would be the largest enclosure I would be able to get in and out of my trunk with out building multiple piece enclosure. So with this new information I have realized that what I wanted to do will not fit in the opening of my trunk. So These are my thoughts of my new direction for my first car audio build. My current sub choices are: -FI BL12d1 x 2 -SA8-v2 x 4 (I would not be against the thought of more of these) -I will take suggestions I just have really enjoyed the reading and video of these to manufacturers. I find the ability of the sundown 8 is incredable from what I have seen and read online. I just have not been able to hear one in person to justify this choice further. Also I feel that If I purchase the 4 and they are not adiquate then I have room left over for more improvement since these take up a small amout of area. I also have not heard the Fi just using information of the web. These look increadable! Just not sure I can get the enclsure large enough to satisfy me and the sound that they can produce once I have added the port. My enclosure will be ported. My concern is the comparison of 2 12's vs 4 8's? Please leave your opinions so I can further my decision. Cone area should be close just not sure what directly will be different since one is an 8 and the other a 12. I am sure I am doing something wrong here Please help constructively would be appreciated.
  22. made two mock boxes the first one is 13x34x34 I believe 2 12's would work well in or I would be able to build a box for 1 15.
