  1. so nothing to worry about. cool. now dont mind me, its saint pattys day, and time for me to get drunk. good use of the emoticons???? also would 2 battieries and a 150 amp alt be enought to power 2 1000 sundowns or 1 1500 sundown? working on my 4 heinikien in 20 min and cannt spell now. leave my spelling alone. lol
  2. That was wat it was gonna cost my friend to convert his 92 suburban. With gas prices out here being 3.55 a gallon, i would spend that 500 getting there and back. so do you think i have to worry about fire?
  3. Ok i am in the need of a new alternator for my truck. The stock one that i have is a 65 amp model. My future plans are 2 10" or 12" icons, and 2 1000 sundowns, or 1 1500 soundown. I am planning on getting my alt rebuilt to 150 amps, or get a 200 amp powermaster. I'll be running between 2 and 4 batteries in my bed box(Deka Intimidator Battery's for now). Ill be running atleast one run of 1/0 or 2/0 to each battery in the back (maybe overkill, but i dont want there to be a big a drop in the voltage). I have talked to a couple of mechanics and they all say that if i upgrade my alternator to that many amps that i will be running the chance of catching my truck on fire due to it being such high amps and the wires and my ecm not being able to handle it. I keep on telling them that if i get the powermaster i will be using the post on the back of the alternator and hooking that up directly to my back battieres, with one wire going to my starter battery or running the wires from my starter battery to the back batteries if the post is not long enough. I will be doing the big 3 and grounding the back ones to the frame. Do i need to worry about my truck catching on fire, or are they just trying to scare me from doing this? But I could also take my ac compressor out (takes r12 and dont fell like spending a G on converting it) and put an alternator there and not worry about it connecting to my factory wiring harness. Not high on my list to do, but if this is the only way for a fact that it wont mess anything up, i guess its my only way to go. Anyone that has experince with H.O. alternators, or knows a lot about them please let me know in what you think.
  4. My grandpa bought in new back in 86. He drove it untill he passed back in 99 or 00, and it sat in my grandmas drive way for 7 years untill she passed and i got the truck with 110,000 miles. When i got it, it ran like sh*t, and the whole passenger side was covered in rust due to it being in driect sun light for all 7 years. So last september i got it painted at a local place for 1100. did a good job but just always wanted the white down the side. Now time for work be back on later.
  5. Dang allright, just trying to get an inside scope on it. Looking forward for the reivew. Thanks, doesnt look to bad for a 21 year old truck, now that the paint is done I gonna put a 4" lift with some new rims and tires, and redo my stereo.
  6. Thanks, it took forever to do. I took me about and hour to get the letters on the tail gate looking nice with tape, and another hour to get it sanded down. I got to his house at 9am, and didnt leave untill 9pm. P.s have you tried out the meter yet?
  7. Last week on thursday morning heading out to school and I found this: Lets just saw i was feeling like the So over the past week after being pissed off i called my uncle up to see if i could use his garage. So yesterday after sanding, fixing the key mark, and masking it off i painted it. I think it turned out pretty good: Before: After: Now just need someone that can do pinstripping and it will be all set. Anyone here that knows how to pinstripe and lives in L.A. area let me know. So wat do yall think? P.s. First time painting any type of vehical
  8. Will do, ill see if any of my friends are in the market for some kick a$$ 12's. Ill redo my measurements to see how much space i can acheive. I wanna do hair tricks, i know i wont do some crazy ones like you did at best buy. I can already feel the air trying to move my hair with my single 12" shallow pioneer. p.s. i claim the girl on the left.
  9. I know, the max i can get in my single cab f150 is 2.60 cu feet. enough for 1 12" with the opt. enclosure, enough for 2 12" with minimum, or 2 10" with the right size enclosure for 2 of them, also i dont want to know how big and long the port would need to be. 2 3" ports(i know its not big enough) i believe was like 50" long EACH, ouch. and i wont go sealed, tried it, not enough bass for my tastes.
  10. That was the quickest response i have ever seen. I posted it, and 10 seconds later i hear, You Got Mail. That would be sweet if i could fit them into my truck, to bad they arent 10's
  11. Is that for 1 or all?
  12. Not sure if you have the link or not, but i believe this is wat you are talking about http://www.*****.com/board/ind...c=1828&st=0
  13. Where in Ontario do you live by chance? I live in claremont (no i am not), i would like to hear ur setup with the Fi. atsaubrey If your every down in this area let me know too. Im thinking about doing 2 1000 with either 2 10/12" icons, or a 10" Bl.
  14. Flakko where do you live by chance in socal? I live about 30 miles east of LA, i would like to see this when its all done.
  15. If you dont mind about a 30 min drive from LA you try a place called La Paloma in pomona. Extremely good mexican food. I go there about 8 or so times a year.
  16. There are better places for mexican food, but i got there for the setting and to have a good time. I get you some photos i took in the engine room, pretty scary chit. ghost that is.
  17. Correct me if im worng, he did that so when he puts the resin on it gives a space so the air can escape.
  18. I hope you get good gas milage, espicially with prices being $3.35 where i live. I thought the drive to bishop to see my grandparents and my aunt was bad, about 4 hours, but you driving 6 hours, each way, twice a month damn.
  19. Thats cool. I'm always down in that area, either eating at Tequila Jacks or at the Queen Mary, buddy has a pass to get on it and explore the ship for free. If you do decide i would like to hear this beast in action.
  20. Where in socal did you grow up in, and where do you plane on moving too?
  21. gotcha, and damn you must put a chit load of miles on ur car.
  22. Thanks for the sub.lol. When should i suspect a tracking number? Im hoping i get it on or before thursday. Going to Mammoth for the weekend an would love to have the sub for 3hr drive. Do you live in So Cal by chance?
  23. I agree in the second post about the 8" pioneer's. If you do decide on building your own enclosure i was also suggest any of the pionner shallow mount line. I have there 12" shallow mount. Its only 3.25" deep, and it gets the job done for me. But from wat it looks like there isnt enough air volume under there for the 12 but might be enough for the 10. The kicker shallow mount series is also a good choice. I would go with pioneer or kicker. This is my 2
  24. My first qustion to you is what year quad cab is this? I have a 03 Quad cab(well my dads) and the passenger side rear seat folds up, and there is a platform underneath the seat. If it does have this configuration have you thought about folding the seat up and laying out the platform and securing to it? Or you might think about putting the sub behind the driver seat and do the same thing as you would if it was gonna go on the passenger side. if you are able the design a box around these new configurations instead of taking up 2 seats you would only take up 1. I think you should be fine with the sub and the port being on the same side of the box. But this is my .02
  25. Thanks, ill keep that in mind. Ill just tell him to go with the sealed route and see wat happens.
