I would try to set the gain with a DMM JUST to be sure. But I wouldn't be surprised if it is defective. After SHizzzon's fiasco with AQ, I'm scarred for life.

I've owned both. Both are good amps. But, I'm going to side with Sundown for the customer service aspect.

Have you thought about going with a CD player that has an equalizer built into it? So you can do everything from up front?

This is really up to you, and what you think your install and audio experience will allow you to do. After deciding that, I say we pick out the amplifiers. After we do that we can discuss mounting options that we have for this, and finally we can pick drivers.

Have you thought about building MDF rings to mount them to? From what I gathered, it's ONLY when it's touching the metal of your door, right?

The last HT box I built was tuned to 24Hz. I feel that to be a good compromise both ways. BUT it is a compromise.

800-900 for JUST the drivers? If so, you have some sick options.
