Which Fi sub are you looking at that handles 5000w?

Get them fully loaded and you should be absolutely fine.

If you built to Fi's specs, with those options, it should handle up 1300-1500 daily I'd say. If you plan on running much more than that, look into a different woofer. (BTL)

You aren't looking for a SQ subwoofer. Look into the Fi BL series.

That's a good idea. Have a couple sets of ports. Tune one to 30-34 for daily and the other set around 40 or so. Wait for another answer on the SPL side though, I don't have a ton of experience with that.

If I remember correctly, my Q came with 1 Fi sticker that was about the same size as the one on the dust cap. You might be able to send an email asking them to toss another one in.

heh, i don't think he likes his music as loud as you do gmonk I would LOVE a 160 daily driver!!! I have sat in the loudest trucks in LA, I love the loud bass. Why? There is a reason our ears angle forward and we have elastic cartilage that also angles forward. We are designed to hear sounds from in front of us more than in the rear, you can thank evolution for that. A subwoofer in the dash is a whole other story. There would not be enough space for the sound wave to generate. You are comparing apples and oranges my friend. If they were designed to allow us to hear in front of us wouldn't they be on the anterior surface of our bodies? So evolutionarily speaking our ears are on the sides of our heads so that we can hear to the back and the sides of us. Not mainly what is in front of us, we have eyes for that. The pinna is just a funnel to catch waves, where ever they may be from.

That's a lot of power, be careful. And for the 3db increase: No one can answer that.

Adds 300-500 watts power handling I think? Check the stickies in the Fi section for answers on all the add ons.

So you're buying a subwoofer based on how it looks when it is playing music? I did own a Q and I loved it. Just look around before you make this bad decision. Get the BTL's with the Hixmax coils.

I think I'll just buy one of those dust caps for my Icon and replace it!
