  1. can you just take some pictures and post them up, that would be the easiest thing by far.

    morning
  3. They'll handle it as well as basically any other big-boy sub, but you can still blow them with that power too.

Very good philosophy. I employ the same.

Had my humidifier on last night and this morning my room feels like a rain cloud. Seemed to help my runny nose/sore throat a bit.
  6. It's not important, just play it. It'll break in by itself.
  7. Is that a V.2 Mag? Is the port a 4 incher or 6? Looks great, and I have been very satisfied with mine. I need to build a new box for it and use it as my HT sub.

The difference between the current pulled by an amp doing 1k @ 4 and 1k @ 1 is not usually going to be significant assuming that both are of the same topology and well designed and built. Well I was reading something the other day....maybe it was on bcae1.com? Anyways I think it had some situation where it said like 120 amps @ 4 ohms, 130 amps @ 2 ohms, and 140 amps @ 1 ohm, for the same power.
  9. try turning your box around so that the subs are facing the back of the car instead of the front.

So it appears that my gf will be moving in with me for a couple of months, until graduation in May. Her roommates are just out of control. We bought pizza on Friday night and because we hadn't taken the boxes outside to the trash by Saturday morning, they taped them to the top of her car.

Happy late birthday Sean. I haven't been on since early Friday. Sounds like I'm glad I missed that fight over FI. How retarded.
  12. i was going to suggest wood filler as well.
  13. Getting louder and having more range in the subs are polar opposites. You can only change your box to get one or the other. If you tune higher you'll get louder, but if you tune lower to get more notes, you'll lose SPL. If you lower your box size but don't increase power or tune, you'll lose SPL. Your only option here would be to create interchangeable ports, one for daily that's tuned lower and one for comps that's tuned to 45 or something. So we'll start with what notes are you missing? The lows?
  14. Please explain why. the owner. They make decent products, I just don't want to support him.

  17. They're just stopping domestic shipping in the US. The company still ships in other countries.
  18. avoid ED like the plague
  19. KU40 replied to casedawg350's topic in General Audio
Yeah, but that just has to do with the amplifier. You can get a 1000 watt @ 1 ohm amp and a 1000 watt at 4 ohm amp and you still have 1000 watts either way. 4 ohms pulls less power from the electrical system than 1 ohm, but if you can get 1000 watts out of an amp either way, it doesn't matter.

Well what box volume and tuning frequency did he say he'd build it to?

after doing hardly any physical activity all summer, I ran 2.2 miles last night. I've been sitting in training for the last two weeks and have hardly moved, so I figured I needed to do something. Plus it was a nice day (almost 60 degrees) so it was good. But man my legs aren't loving it so much today, ha. My calves tried to cramp every time I moved for about 2 hours after I got done. Today is supposed to be magnificent, 81 degrees! a little windy, like 15-20 mph, but it's kansas so can't get away without it. Too bad I'll be stuck inside all day for training and then even when I come home I'll be stuck inside studying for my exam tomorrow . But tomorrow afternoon......FREEDOM! Gonna go play basketball for the first time in like 6 months. I'm so excited.

you can try cutting a few holes in the rear deck to help get the bass in.

it sounds like a dull thud when the subs play.
  24. If you build the box a little bigger, 1.5k can and will push the BTLs to its limits.

go to Durango, CO beautiful little town with amazing beer There are a lot of awesome towns in CO. You could drive through the mountains and see all the great scenery and local small towns. Their small towns are a lot nicer than the small towns in kansas, haha.
