  1. Find a welding supply store for cheaper 1/0
  2. you can get some welding wire from welding supply places. It's normally a fair bit cheaper than car audio 1/0.
  3. Dual 2 ohm coils should read like 1.6-1.7 ohms per coil when you hook them up to the DMM. So if you check them with the coils wired in parallel already, it should be about .7. But every sub that's dual 2 ohm and wired in parallel is 1 ohm at the amp.
  4. .7 is the DCR of the sub. The amp doesn't care about that. It only cares about the nominal load, which is 1 ohm. I assume you have a 2 ohm DVC BTL? What amp is it?

How tired is a dog's ass?
  6. I wouldn't put 1600 watts on a Q. Even with BP power. 1000 should be plenty. Besides, the difference between 1300 and 1600 is negligible, less than 1 db.

Bah, not an I6 car. There's a car in that picture????
  8. It'll be ok. Manufacturer recommendations are just that, recommendations. They aren't concrete walls that you can't go past. It's just where they think the sub sounds the best and can handle the power they rate it for.
  9. Just use good stuff that's void-free. I used baltic birch plywood on my last box and it's awesome. So light.

I was thinking the same thing. There was that show on Discovery channel and it certainly sounded way higher. Like 3k hz. Which would make sense because that's around where humans are most sensitive to the sound, so it would hurt more.

Watched two episodes of "Vegas Confessions" tonight. Basically a hot lady asks people about their craziest stories while in Vegas. and....wow. There are some wild people out there.
  14. oh you don't have to raise it. I don't like raised trucks either. Just bigger tires is all, to fill the wheel wells more. Raising just creates a bigger gap in there. But I also don't like too small of a gap, or negative gap, i.e.- dropping. But just my opinion.

I put this rub on some chicken tonight and it was absolutely disgusting. The rub was some special mix sold in stores just for chicken, and it has about had me throwing up all night. I've felt nauseous since having ONE bite of the chicken about 4 hours ago. I've tried chocolate, ice cream, lots of water, pasta, and brushing my teeth to help get rid of it, and it's barely any better. Making me sick to my stomach. I don't know what was in there, it didn't list ingredients. It's to the point where I actually wouldn't mind throwing up because that might get the taste out of my mouth. yes, I'd rather have vomit taste than that rub.

i'm surprised they don't have 10 pullups on that list. That would be a good addition. I'm up to 14 now. Huge step up from when we had to do them in gym in middle school, I think I did 2. haha. I was so weak back then. In PE in grade school we had to do a test of holding yourself in a chin-up position above the bar for 5 seconds. I had to come in during recess to retry because I couldn't do it during class. I think I was the only one. I've pretty much vouched since then to not be so weak and at least be able to handle myself.
  17. Larger boxes have greater efficiency than smaller boxes, whether it be ported or sealed. So 6.7 cubes will be louder than 5.7 cubes with the same power (provided mechanical limits aren't reached). However, the tradeoff is lower power handling by larger boxes because they can't control the cone as well. So while the 5.7 cube box may be able to handle 1000 watts, the 6.7 cube box may only be able to handle 900. Then there's the issue in difference in sound, both tonally and in response. Larger enclosures have a more flat response curve. Sealed boxes can generally play lower than ported because subs unload below tuning in a ported box. However, also generally, ported boxes are louder in the 30-50 hz range. But the sealed boxes are louder below 20-25 hz. So for most people and their music, ported will belt out the lows better, because the lows in most music isn't any lower than 30 hz.
  18. why would he turn the subsonic filter all the way up?
  19. The damage is probably more than just a broken connection. That mosfet is more than likely blown as well.
  20. So they just want to sell you the product and be done with it. Nice customer service.
  21. Do you have a large voltage drop? What do you have for a charging system?

http://www.menshealth.com/mhlists/be_fit/ Are you in shape? I figure I could do the 1.5 miles in 10 minutes, touch the rim (helped by my height, my vertical is probably only about 25", which is "ordinary"), do 40 pushups, "measure up," and toss a basketball 75 feet. I could also probably run 300 yards under 1 minute and maybe leg press 2.25x my weight. I'm not a very efficient swimmer and I've never even attempted anything close to 700 yards. I also can't touch my toes anymore, and can only bench 1.2x my body weight.

Had an eye appointment with a new doctor just now, and I go in there and tell them that after a while my eyes get dry and itchy. They asked how long I kept the same contacts, I said two months. She said "two weeks?" no, two months. Then she told me that the contacts I have are only meant for two week use, which is why they get bad after a month or so. haha, oops. I coulda sworn my last doctor told me two months. hmm. Well I guess that solves that problem! I never saw the doctor with my contacts in, but the fuzzy image of her sure looked a lot like Liv Tyler. I think it's a requirement for women eye doctors to be thin and attractive. I've never seen an unattractive one.
