I know that song but can't remember it. My brother told me to listen to it. The lyrics were decently clever but I hated the style.
  3. Good starting points, but to me sub should be lower. More like 40hz or lower if possible. Part of the reason being the lower you can get your sub crossed over the easier it will be for you to get the mystical and much sought after "up front" bass I don't disagree. I've never tried 40 hz, that seems way low for me, haha. and I don't know that my 6.5" XR mids would like to play below 70 hz or so with much authority. But I did notice a big difference in lowering my sub's crossover from 80 to 65. blends soooo much better.
  4. if you want a general, general, GENERAL range just for some kind of indication, here's what I figure: Tweeter- 3500 and up midrange- 300 to 3500 midbass- 65-300 subwoofer- 65 and down. The tweeter and midrange will generally vary the most. If you use a horn for the highs, some of them can do 1,500-2000 and up, then your midrange will play below that. Some tweeters don't like to play below 4,000 hz. Some mids don't like to play above 2,500, others can't keep up below 100 for midbass duty if just doing a 2-way. Just for some examples of the variability.
  5. haha. maybe jeezy just uses some basslines below your tune? rap artists sometimes also crank the bassline level when they record and may even record a clipped signal.

watching my grandma's second husband slowly deteriorate from emphysema two years ago was the worst thing ever. Well, second worst. First was getting a phone call from my brother the day I bought my new (used) car last year and hearing him tell me my other grandma had an accident on the farm and died. There still is hardly a day that goes by that I don't think about either of them. I've been pretty close with all my grandparents and step-grandparents. It sucks because I still think of them as "young" 60 year olds like they were when I was younger, but then reality sets in and they're 75 and it's just like, man......... They may be stubborn and less educated than we are today but they all have that wisdom.
  7. I have a Mag......v2, I think. It's great. If you can manage to find four 15's (v3's are even better), it would be awesome.
  8. depends on the size of the two. and tuning frequency. and frequency being played.

It's "just" a tropical storm right now. But still has time to develop a little more. and it's named Dolly. haha.
  11. you should try just turning your box on it's back so that both are facing up in the current box. See how that works.

soldered to what, the terminals? They aren't already? Can you give a picture?
  13. That's what I thought too. Why do you even want to change? Just to change dimensions of the box? The two are within .3-.4 cubes of each other, so you won't notice a difference in sound.
  14. build the box with those dimensions and use the same ports. you'll only be 1 hert higher in tuning frequency. If you want to stay the same, lengthen the port by an inch.
  15. A vast majority of the time it will be louder to the rear. I think the exception to this is if either your box takes up basically the entire cross area of the trunk or if you wall it off at the front baffle so that little if any waves get back into the trunk.

Caught a catfish tonight. Which wouldn't be out of the ordinary except that I was fishing for bass using a minnow lure ~6" below the surface. wtf? That catfish must have an identity disorder.
  17. Substituting speakers in a premium sound system isn't as easy as just replace and play. Premium sound systems have factory amps, which you may be aware of, which generally run off of different impedences than "normal." You may want to find out what impedence those speakers are and see if the factory amps can handle the 4 ohms you'll probably put on them with aftermarket equipment. Some run at 8 or even 10 ohms. If the factory amps won't support as low as 4 ohms you'll have to either install an aftermarket head unit or an aftermarket amp. I'd say do 6.5" components if you have the motivation and resources to make adapter plates for the mids and find a place to mount the tweeters. If you're just looking for ease of replacement, just stick with 6x8 coaxials.
  18. what was your old box tuned to and what is the new box tuned to

haha he was the principal at my old middle school. He left to pursue his music career I think. That was......oh man....like 10 years ago.
  20. I don't think he's coming back.
  21. I'd even say that's way too high. I think 80 is the absolute maximum you'd want to go. 65-70 is better.
  22. great stuff. worlds above audiobahn anything.
  23. wire it whichever way is easier. it's all the same in the end.
  24. those cars don't really do it for me. I don't know why, they just seem boring to me. Especially the Benzes.

do hills and curves affect gas mileage a lot? I figured I should be getting more than 19.5 mpg when I go 55 mph on this road, but it's very hilly and curvy. If it's not one it's the other, which is also a reason I like to take it. It's fun. Fortunately the hills aren't so big and my Explorer only downshifts 1-2 times during the 20 minute drive. I've gotten upwards of 24 when I've gone on long trips going 65 out in relatively flat western Kansas, so I figured I should be getting that when I go 55 on this road. But I do have a couple blocks in town at each end of the drive.
