  1. you can't blame a product for failing when you drive it to death from abuse what you basically did was buy a ferarri and blow it by putting a rock on the gas pedal while telling them they need a stronger more durable engine...... there is nothing wrong with the voice coils in the Xcon.... the voice coil WILL handle well over the rated RMS with clean power easily
  2. your woofer is a victum of poor operation... the gain on the amp IS NOT a volume control there is a point on the volume where it really doesn't pound any harder if you pass it but your not quite shure so you turn up past it anyways..... this is very very very bad the end result is ALWAYS ripped suspension or fried coils and leads contact Aaron ( Denim ) and he will set you up with a recone
  3. your box and Glenneress's door pods are coming next
  4. shouldn't be a problem.....I see lots of room I still have about 3 weeks worth of work to catch up on from before the shop move but if your not in a huge hurry you can get in line just shipped the first batch of projects this morning.......stuff will be flying out of the shop now
  5. BTL = peaky and doesn't drop worth beans but great for spl or just plain loud....models terribly on the graph Xcon = flatter response ,drops lower and has much better note seperation and tone definition .....less DB output than the BTL but much more musical...models really nice on the graph
  6. ran out of black decals....I'm gonna have to send him one when they arrive
  7. I think this one will be going Fedex Ground...
  8. anyways.....due to the lack of respect shipping companies have with packages and the requierments to qualify for insurance claims I was forced to change the way I ship I still have to cap off the ends but it should get there on one peice
  9. I had them metered brand new out of the box and no playing with 50% rms power ..144db @ 41hz legal on dash not bad concidering the enclosure is tuned below 30hz.. broken in with the A3000 on them I see an easy 4 to 5 db gain
  10. minus the screen door bracing it's almost an exact replica of my center port enclosure ....the subs being mounted so far apart reduced output by almost 3db but it did have decent SQ
  11. the floor space is not to bad...the sloped ceiling sucks when you are 6 foot 2 inches tall though I still have a seperate paint room.... one thing I learned out of this move..DO NOT plug a table saw into an outlet of an old building that may contain Aluminum wiring......POOF !!!
  12. I like it...... once I get a few spare minutes I'm gonna re sheet the wall and clean up the background for pics
  13. it's a little more juice but I would find a used JBL/Crown BPX 2200.1 on e bay...... doesn't really matter on the impedance with the Crown Circutry...4 ohm..1 ohm..no real difference to them and you won't find a better sounding sub amp for the $$$ either
  14. that's a long way from here.....a good 3-4 day drive
  15. Thumpper replied to dustin420's topic in Off Topic
where I live one out ov every 8 houses has some sort of a grow going and the police will not even bother if you have less than an ounce or less than 20 plants,,,,,,it's just not worth the paperwork and hastle I guess........LOL
  16. Toyopl's enclosure and Glenneress's door pods are next Marks enclosure will not be a simple 3 day build.....there will be some specialty glass and machining done on this one......I'll be working on the wood framework soon
  17. great to hear... cant wait to see the build on my box yours is gonna be interesting for shure.....I made a small change in design that will show the subs off better ......
  18. these subs are sickening for SQ subs tuned at 30hz ( I figure the Labrynth air drag brings it down to 28hz ) brand new out of the box with only an hour of play they hit 144db on the dash ( legal comp reading ) ..this is also seriously under powered they are much much louder with an extra 4+ hours of break in and I'll be doubling the power as soon as the Reactor gets back from repair.....I see an easy 4 db gain much nicer than the four 15"..........I can hear the front stage really well and the van does not want to fall apart anymore....
  19. I was scared the body metal was going to fatigue and rip from flexing when I had the four 15" in these two 12" Xcons are friggin crazy on this pewny little 2400w amp I can't wait to get the A3000gti on them..that's gonna be nuts I would have loved to do the cosmetics on this one but I just don't have the spare time with the line up of builds I got coming..it's gonna have to wait
  20. good job young grasshopper
  21. midbass usually comes from the mids if installed properly I can bounce my mirrors with my midbass ( two sets of 6.5" components) the enclosure could be at fault....I'v installed both the 12" and 15" Xcons and they hit the upper double kick drums nicely
  22. this is by far the fastest flared port build I have ever done.....it will stay bare wood untill my Crown Amp comes back from repair then I will work on the cosmestics...build the amp rack cover and clean the wiring up not to shabby for only 1200w rms per sub ( EXILE 2400 ) everything on the rear of the enclosure by the hatch is for the front stage..(mids n tweets ).. two Exile Xi 800.4's running two channel briged ( 400w rms x 4 )
