  1. Im not familiar with those lines but if i recall bigjon is running two of those subs off 3kw, so 1.5kw a sub... I think ive seen a few more around running that range. If you wait around or search im sure you could find the power options and what they mean. Sorry i cant help ya further!
  2. The big problem causing the breaks is the roof/pillar flex.... Welding in an angle iron or square tube from floor to corner of the pillar on both sides would prevent the break i believe and this could be done at a rather low cost. With the reduced deflection i think it wont break anymore. I may not know a whole ton about stereo's but i have helped build a derby car or two... lol
  3. Sounds like your not really into SQ but more SPL so why not go with an optioned out bl and the larger amp and watch the gains. I'm sure if your careful it will be fine for daily. You could always opt for the BTL provided you have the money and you would be more then ecstatic from your description of what you want.
  4. If the 100Sq inch at 27 is correct im going to build this sucker tommorow... Any other people before i start to build? And 100 Sq inch big enough for the two?
  5. You can punch someone in the chin and they will buckle at the knees.... Same situation of cause and effect, the twist of the surround creates extra tension at the surrounds connection to the cone creating a tear under excursion because its travel distance has been significantly shortened.
  6. Two RE SX 15's. Thanks again for the help, Only reason i need to keep the enclosure so small is so i can pull it out to grab my spare if i need to.
  7. K, box dimensions are 35x32x16 externally. Internally this gives me roughly 8.57Cubes. I want to port this to 34hz or so, and i need a min area of 6 cubic feet after displacements, is this possible? I also need to know how many sq inches of port i should need. I am just going to run out and grab 2 sheets of MDF right now so any help would be wonderful. The only confusing part is that the RE calculator keeps giving me ridiculous port lengths when removing the second portion of the L to make it a square. Any port dimension recommendations would be wonderful. Thanks in advance. Chris
  8. Nothing better then a diesel or v10 excursion.... Ford visual sex on wheels. My Pio deck voltage meter f-d off on me the one day from bumping, a good smack on the dash and it read normal again hahahaha. I think it would be the voltage meter.
  9. So you think your stinger meter is banged? Could very well be that or the wiring to it. Trust a DMM... Much more accurate usually due to its high internal resistance.
  10. you would need the same amount of deadening... Convertible vehicles are beefed up and more deadener is used from factory to compensate for the rag.
  11. i was saying for test purposes, isolators are USELESS in my opinion... He could do exactly what he did in that situation and pop the breaker to disconnect it from the circuit, same crap as the isolator but dual purpose...
  12. Guys, from what i can gather john knows what batt it is. He has all the bats isolated with breakers, when he turns off its breaker the voltage goes high meaning that battery is the load. Judging as he does wrecking he would have a charger lying around and could just charge the one batt to make sure.
  13. Yeah, sucks hopefully you sort it all out. Big fan of lincolns btw.... Miss my 90 cartier, lol. Should be warrantied to be honest. Check up on that might be able to get a replacement and sell it if you want to still switch brands.
  14. If its an optima their being made in a new build house according to my buddy who owns an ALT/Batt shop... They have a high failure rate with losing cells according to him. Thats why i switched over to oddyseys.
  15. strap it, bolt the strap to something and run the straps upto the box and fasten them to it. How i do it in my saturns trunk.
  16. Put an IXL18 into my buddies 06 impala, sealed. Trunk car with no ventilation into the cabin really and it still rocks his car. Amazing subs all around, trust me you wont be dissapointed. If you have the space go ported, if not sealed will still rock you.
  17. Im assuming they wear hip waiters to stay above the bull and helmets to prevent further brain damage when writing these things. hahaha.
  18. Ive got 1 15" RE SX in my Saturn L200, roughly the same size as the Camry and no one will sit in my car with the stereo pumping. Everything becomes blurry when the bass hits and is pretty tough to drive with it going even for me and ive driven around half a million km's or more in my life already.... Do yourself and your ears a favor and start off smaller and do things right, perhaps a 12 or two for your first system and see how that treats ya.
  19. 400 watts RMS increase if your actually gaining that full power should be like 2 db increase according to the rules. If a slightly more then noticeable gain is worth the money to you then go for it, but i find it becomes this never-ending search for louder and louder systems... lol.
  20. What are you looking for? Gettin super loud while retaining musicality? Gettin Stupid loud while not sounding like complete ass? Or getting pretty loud while sounding damn nice?
  21. If you ever get into selling prototypes i need an amp for my boston GS1500's. Lemme know as ive not used any sundown products yet but have failed to see a single believable bad review.
  22. Gotta remember a large part of the market aren't the type who come to a forum or research what they buy, they look for a BIG beefy looking amp. The amp is large cheap and puts out allot of power the general group who walks into a shop to buy it will get a bit of a amp woody. Plus their are allot of budget builds out there that the cost difference in the amp would pay for the wiring or some other piece of their audio puzzle so i think they would move rather well...
  23. I would buy two or more of the things if they came in around the $300.00 mark. Finding an amp that puts out that much true power with that high of build quality is far and beyond more important then a little size to me and all the people i know. Lets face it you can barely get a lanzar opti1400 for that much.
  24. the Xtype is a awd ford contour with nightmares worth of trouble. lol
  25. Just got a N1 for free.... Pulled it from a car being scrapped. The owner accidentally chopped the cable to the hidden unit when pulling it out. I looked on ebay but dont feel like waiting anyone know where i can grab one of these in ontario? Ive called around but all the shops are closed and whatnot Blech!!
