  1. I don't really like the new look of their subs. I prefered the old ones. Do they perform as well as the old ones?
  2. Ok, the JL Audio W7 is a awesome sub! I've heard a pair of the 10s sealed and it sounded awesome! They got pretty loud for a sealed 10 inch setup and had awesome SQ and dropped low as fvck. I want a pair of 12s for a sealed setup that'll do those same exact things. I do like ported boxes but prefer the flat response of a sealed setup and I know there are subs out there that don't sacrifice output for flat response in a sealed setup. The W7s are a good example of that. I was wondering if the FI Q series could do that being they have alot of excursion? I'm also looking at a pair of PG Ti Elite 12s for my friend as well.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, is it true that the more X-Max a sub has the louder it'll get sealed? If so, has anyone tried the FI Q series subs sealed yet? 27mm sounds like a really good amount of excursion. Was wondering because a friend of mine is considering a pair of them sealed with a 2000 - 2500 watt amp and he prefers sealed setups and wants a loud sealed setup with good SQ.

I notice the FI Q series has a real nice amount of X-Max. Does that mean a pair of the 12s could get real loud sealed with like 2000 - 3000 watts? Correct me if I'm wrong, does it mean that when a sub has alot of throw it'll be a great sub for sealed operation?
  5. It all depends. 2 12s would get louder and give you more surface area, however would require more power than you currently have. For example 2 FI BL 12s would require 2 of the amps you have, one for each. But it would get louder than 1 FI BL 15. However 15s also can get loud and they drop lower than 12s. One 15 is actually much better off 1500 watts than 2 12s because it's being powered more properly.
  6. Depends what you're looking to power. That's an awesome amp and puts out clean and solid power.
  7. Out of your choices the FI BL 15 would get the loudest, but would lack the SQ of the other choices. Then again, you didn't say you wanted a LSQ setup, you said you wanted loud daily. So out of your choices the BL is best for what you're looking for. Another good choice would be the DD 3515e or Treo SSI 15.
  8. Hmmmm, could have swarn I seen videos of one? When's that badboy coming out?
  9. I 2nd that. I have a Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz and it hits hard and sound good. Seems to always maintain SQ no matter what I play and now matter how loud I play it. Though I'de personally put that on one Icon 15. Doesn't sound like enough to power a pair to me. I have a JBL 1200.1 II amp that's giving it 1100 watts at 2 ohms and the sub is pretty efficient, however I can tell it would love more! Another thought would be the Icon 18 sealed.
  10. and vids ya, pics = rides page on the website. LOL, will do some pics and maybe a video on Sunday!
  11. I finally put in my Icon 15. It's in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34 hz and it is loud as fvck and sounds clean to boot! The funny part is it isn't even broken in.
  12. I know! That's why I'm asking for peoples' experiences...they will ALL be different. That's the point. However some of my questions are quite specific. I'm not looking for majic answers or problem solvers...is this not a forum? Is this not a place for discussion? ill try and answer you.. i think i got your question figured out ?!? i think if you buy Jl Audio it is a statis symbol = Tommy Hillfigure i have yet to hear a JL W7 preform !!! they sound like a wet fart to me compaired to a Soundstream T4 accually now that i think about it i think every Jl sub i ever lisend to sounded Blowen ! the L7 from Kicker is a Monster @ SPL but lacks the musical feness... it fumbles notes when playing music but people that buy this sub just want to hear there trunk buzzzzzzzz with the bass nothing wrong with that... as for RE i have the SX 15" in my truck as i type breaking it in & i think the SAZ3000d is going to Cook it ! i have BBQ sause ready ( Recone Kit - Pap Wmd2 ) as for Sub-culture subs Pap is my drug of choise, as they will build subs to what i request, i.e. extra spiders, coil configurations & size, tencel leads that will handel 4k, Motors, etc etc etc i have a MOAB 15" that deals with 3k all day without getting warm @ 36Hz where as i requested this sub special built for SPL WMD-Spl 15" notice the honeycomb cone and smaller motor with the 4k tencel leads... its a dragster compaired to the heaver coned & motored Bass Beast... the SoundStream T4 is an all out work Horse, it will pull double duty its a Bastard to beat in the lanes and will do Music with no missing notes... i will have to say that these are My Opinions, and based on the Boxs the subs were installed in and what i was trying to achive that week... now for the Memphis M3MojoMaxx 15" quad coil music it cannot do... but Spl it does with no problem where as the SoundStream XxX 15" dominates everything iv ever owned Music or Spl this thing is designed to Get Down ! iv nicknamed it "Tyson" as its an Ear bitting Bastard... feel free to ask me questions as you can see i build a lot of boxxs Dude, I know there's stuff out there that's better than JL Audio, but JL also makes a quality product. You're just straight up hating. Every JL product I've heard or had sounded great. Even my old W4D4 12s sounded nice and clean and got decently loud. The W7s are very impressive drivers. However, I personally do not own a pair, I have an Icon 15 on the way. There are subs that I'de personally choose over JL but they do make great subs. I'de personally take a Treo SSX or RE XXX over a W7. Some mainstream that I feel really kick ass are the ID MAXX and Diamond Audio D9.
  13. Just bought a dual 1 ohm Icon 15! Gonna wire it in series to feed it 1100 watts at 2 ohms from my amp. Thanks for the input and advice everybody!
  14. I'm buying an Icon right now.
  15. Ok, I have a question and I hope it's not a stupid one. Would one of these single 15s ported in 3 cubes be louder than 2 RL-i 10s ported in 1.2 - 1.35 each or would the RL-i 10s ported be louder due to more surface area?
  16. What do you mean by power handling will go with the Icon? Do you mean the Icon could take more power or is more efficient? Because I want something that'll get loudest with the power I have, not be starving for more.
  17. Their website says the Havoc is only available in dual 2 ohm and my amp puts out max (1100 watts) at 2 ohms. I need a dual 4 ohm or 1 ohm for my amp. The Havoc does look nice though but it's not for my application. Thanks anyway
  18. I'm still pulling my hair out trying to decide on one lol. All 3 are nice looking and from what I hear on here good sounding. Which would be louder in 3 cubes ported then? Could a single 15 sealed get louder than the 2 Orion HP12s or W3D4 12s I had sealed? I know ported, either 15 should be louder but could a ported setup sound good as well? Gerrrr Either way I am going to pick of one of these subs today.
  19. Hmmmm, which one of these would get loudest sealed? Just exploring my options. Could any of them get loud sealed?
  20. Pretty much impossible... Not it's not, it's called S Q L.
  21. I'm thinking of just scratching my previous posts and might go for a single 15 ported. I want a loud setup with good SQ. You all probably know what amp I have by now (JBL GTO 1201.1 II puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms). I'm having a b!tch of a time picking a 15 being there are soo many good ones. So far I want a 15 that'll sound good, get loud and drop low in 3 cubes ported. So far these are what I'm trying to decide between. I know all probably sound good but which would get louder? Also what should I tune to? I plan on placing an order for one of these this weekend. 1 SSA Icon 15 1 SS RL-p 15 1 Fi Q15
  22. Damn kid, that ish looks loud for a sealed 15 lol! What size box and how much powering it?
  23. How would a single Icon 15 or RL-p 15 sound in 3 cubes vented? Would that sound clean? I can do up to 3 cubes. Both would do well in 3.0. Would 3 cubes sound clean and hit nice and low with either and what should it be tuned to? Between 15s which of these would be louder in 3 cubes ported with the power I have? RL-p 15 SSA Icon 15 Fi Audio Q15 Treo SSI 15 I think you would be happy with a Q, however i have only had experience with a Q. From what I have read, the Icon and RL-P are also very capable subs for what you want. I am not familiar enough with Treo to say anything about their speakers or capabilities. Either way you look at it, i think you will get a quality product and great sounding speaker I would do a poll to see which 15 people on here think would be louder but some people on here told me they'de kill me if I did another poll, lol j/p.
