UFO BTL worth giving up?
Then sell the BTO and your big amp and go smaller. Will allow you a budget to make the front stage work. Hardly need a sub even for SQ. Sure it's important, but hardly comparatively.Power is the last thing you should worry about. Mounting locations and install first. The output is where i'd like it, downgrading would cost me that. It's a better sound i'm after. I am going to at least try several new boxes for the BTL before I make any decision, or i'll never forgive myself for passing up a $250 loaded BTL 18

UFO BTL worth giving up?
That's the idea I'm just in a rare situation where I can actually afford to get it. I'm conflicted. The bruiser is amazing, I have just always wanted the ultraI aim to tune low, 26-30hz has always been my preference, anything higher tends to disappoint on slowed music. It's interesting you say to skip the minotaurs. I was set on running all Zed amps, but it'd be the same to the ear to just snatch a crescendo 3500 and run it low gain? Loudness will be there, for fucks sake, it's a BTL, lol. I'm curious about clarity. If it's the same, that's heaven to my wallet.

UFO BTL worth giving up?
http://tcsounds.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/LMSU-18-Owner-Manual.pdf I can't find a link to the UFO BTL, just a bunch of forum threads also asking for UFO specs. I woulda copy pasted the specs, but that PDF was all I found on mobile. What else should I put up to model them?

UFO BTL worth giving up?
I have been considering trading up the BTL, as in, the woofer, and a chunk of $$$ for a LMS Ultra 18. I'm only considering on the grounds that it's said to be more accurate down low, much smaller enclosure requirements, and well, it's my dream subwoofer. However, I am not so in love with the woofer, that i'll piss away $450 on a trade up for looks alone. Has anyone used both woofers in an optimal alignment? There's nothing wrong with my BTL, but I want to pick a woofer and stick with it. I'm sick of the changing equipment and replacing things. So, while i'm in a position, financially, to do so, I thought I would ask for your guys' opinions. I'm after SQ, but with some aggression to it. I guess i'm greedy. If it's even relevant to the question, power will be a pair of Zed Minotaurs. Either will sit in it's optimal enclosure size, a little on the large side, with a removeable port; so I can mess with either after it's said and done. I understand how many variables there are, so I'm really just asking anyone who has personally used both woofers.

When you build a box with a removable port....
It makes a lot more sense when 7.5 doesn't have to be the constant, I'm not sure why I got hung up on that.

When you build a box with a removable port....
Thanks, both of ya Any tips on how to make the external port length look not so funky?

When you build a box with a removable port....
When you build a box with a swapable port, how to you determine internal box volume, as in, what it needs to be once the port is in? I'm going to build a box for the BTL that's 7.5 cubes and want three different ports, 26hz, 34hz, and one for whatever my peak frequency in the vehicle with be. I'm not sure, but wouldn't the different port sizes also affect tuning by changing box volume? I feel like this is really simple and i'm just punching myself in the face here. What am I missing?

Just curious about this amp, I found it online, but not many reviews. It's also in the SSA store. Looks sick, but no reviews there either. Anyone heard one, seen one, smelled one, etc. lol.

all Izzie (the dark one) does is sniff the volume knob til I turn it up. She loved my truck. Ever since the day I got her she's slept in front of my stereos lol. Speakerdog Jada is a therapy dog, and is probably just tryna cut loose and go buck wild when she's not at work idk lol My dogs for some reason don't like even a little bass. They just bark and want out. I always thought their hearing was much more sensitive so my pups baffle me.

wiered noises
What I do is take everything completely apart til the problem stops. Then I tear it all down, and put it together one piece at a time, til the problem starts. If it isn't resolved by the first step, now you have a definitive answer as to what's causing it.

Just a short video, my dogs always run upstairs when I turn the woofer on. It's a BTL18d2 on 50w rms. I ended the video, because the satellite speakers fell off the enclosure, they sit on top lol. Nothing much, but shakes a fair bit. Finally got some crossovers to use, and was testing it out this morning. One does not simply run a BTL full range. It's stupid to use it for home audio, but I hate having a $500 paperweight. So take it for what it is.

trying to get some help with new enclosure
Blind suggestion, any use using poly at this power level?

The speaker only does what it's told. Check all else before the woofer.

Cooling your woofer motor to increase performance
As in, built into the motor, or a particular port design guiding air past the motor?

Cooling your woofer motor to increase performance
I'm right, it just boils down to price? Now what about this, Even if it were applied, would there be any appreciable benefits? Extending the thermal rating of the driver. So in competitions where this would be legal and you are limited in cone size theoretically you could then worry about the mechanics of the driver and not the thermal rating. Obviously a driver would need to be designed for the cooling for it to be effective. There are current competition formats that would have something like this banned?
