		Bike Sound System

I'm right here JJ, the fucker will weigh a ton. I had a Sony Xplode 12 on my Mongoose BMX, along with a car battery, two amps, a Jensen 200rms and a Kenwood 50x4rms, a head unit, mids and highs. Thing was hideous, but at the time, at fifteen, that shit slammed. I don't recommend a bike, it's HIGH maintenance, having no charging system and all. The wires are a big hazard, and I was lucky to have never been caught in the rain. You WILL NOT get usable bass from your setup. It will be glorified midbass at that; open air (no room or cabin) on a low power ghetto system doesn't produce favorable results. It was a magnificent learning experience, how various things work and such though. If you're hardheaded like me, then make sure to do the following: Leave NO exposed wires. Do NOT ground to the frame, do direct runs. Use high efficiency, small footprint amps and very efficient speakers. The Soundigital 250.2 might interest you. it's about the size of your wallet and does 2x125@4ohm. Adding thirty pounds would surprise you as far as the effort require to haul it around. double or triple that and well, think about it. *note* Be respectful. My neighbors all think I am an asshole, I rode around banging Oxycotton and Hollywood Driveby for the little kids to hear, don't play things that will upset others, especially when it's early/late or lots of people are around. I understand showing off is fun, but be considerate of others. You ARE able to get a sound ticket on a bike, I got one

		New Truck - Audio pre-planning

My insurance is covering my truck and a tiny bit extra, so with the next vehicle, since I know it'll kill me if I don't ask, which is more audio friendly? (since the price differences on them locally are pretty much negligible, they all fall around $2500-3k) Jeep Grand Cherokee (1995-2003) Explorer Sport (1995-2003) or even another Blazer/Jimmy/Bravada (1996-2004) I'm only really picky about having 4x4; everything else, kinda blurs together to me. *The trucks i'm comparing are the ones that were left on the list after accounting for mechanical issues being taken care of; so no, I got my priorities in order

Using Infinite Baffle Driver in Sonotube Arrangement

I believe for IB you simply need ten times the VAS of the driver. I'm intoxicated so it might be the wrong T/S parameter but a supppper big sealed enclosure, perhaps stuffed to shit would work. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i've come across that a few times in a few years.

		Re-building my front stage

No broken bones, but my hands are torn up from digging through the snow looking for my phone in the panic (my phone is my 20 year old blankie, i'm unhealthily attached). When they managed to pry me off my truck, I looked at the snow and my hands and theres shattered glass and blood everywhere. I couldn't see the glass in the snow, plus the adrenaline and the cold, I didnt feel it happening. I had an anxiety attack in the ambulance and apparently snarled something so vicious about my sound system the police agreed to escort my truck to the tow lot.

		Re-building my front stage

Truck is totalled. Was run off the road at 50mph by some cunt driving halfway into my lane coming the opposite direction. Sheared off a rear wheel at the frame, crushed the roof, landed upside down backwards in a drainage ditch

		Re-building my front stage

Then fix the road noise first. I also think you have confused what is actually louder. I doubt it is any louder adding the extra set. Sure some frequencies will be but overall I doubt it unless you changed something else at the same time. It's not much louder, it's only really still hooked up for passengers. I have a time alignment processor on my hu that I could use if I stuck to one pair

		Re-building my front stage

Road noise is so high I usually end up with it louder than i'd like for most listening. I originally only had the alpine comps and they simply weren't loud enough, vocals drowned in the bass

		Re-building my front stage

My front and rears are paralleled at 2ohm stereo. My highpass is set at 100. I don't think they sound any better with it set lower. No change in sound at listening volumes. Listening volume is kinda high, my noise floor is FUCKED

		Re-building my front stage

All that's installed right now is pawn shop pickings, other than the btl Alpine component 6.5's (the old blue ones), orion xtr coaxials 6.5's, a Dual 2ch amp for the highs (only better than nothing) My head unit is a Sony XAV-63. I can set time alignment and listening posistion within the vehicle. I have a seven band EQ, and it has xovers built in at 60/80/100/120/full for the doors. I can cross the sub as high as 100. Amp for the woofer is a crunch powerzone 1500. As you can see, the BTL is only the first step in the right direction M5, it sounds like my litte dual amp is a mouse lifting a fat man, it can't handle high listening levels, hell its only rated for. 75/2 @ 2ohms and I doubt it does that. Was thinking about a crescendo amp. Really have no clue about mids and highs. As a little kid developed this hardon about big woofers and forgot the rest of the spectrum >.<

		Re-building my front stage

I am not at all satisfied with my current mids and highs, they are just loud enough to be heard over the BTL, but they sound horribly stressed and weak in comparison. I wanted to put a pair of 8's in my front doors, and some new tweeters up on the pillar or the dash; before I look into getting pods made for my doors, has anyone had any luck fitting 8's in the doors of a Blazer/Bravada/Jimmy ? i'd like to keep it simple, at least til it's warmer out.

Low tuned UFO BTL 18 box

He offered me a ten cubic foot box tuned at 31, but it has cutouts for two eighteens; we are going to plug one and shoehorn it in; it's one inch too wide. Should I adjust the port size? I'm only feeding it 750 @ 1ohm for now, and by the time I get a new amp i'll redesign a box. I'll get the specs later today on the dual box.

Low tuned UFO BTL 18 box

I picked up a btl d2 for 250 tonight, and have it in 4 cubes at 32 hz. I need a box to really let it shine. I was thinking 8cubes @ 30hz. I am unsure of how much port to have though. Most likely a slot. My question is what is a good rule of thumb to go by for port area? I've heard mixed things about the 12-16in/cube rule.

12" ZCon D1 4th order box sealed size help

Generally the feeling around here is if you're guessing, you don't need a fourth order bandpass. Two zcons? Not enough? How much power are you running? Sealed can put out if space is adequate, is your box big enough to choke off sound, being rear firing?

With a box, you're saying 425 is a bad deal? Man, weren't they like 500 new, woofer alone?
