  1. I did think of that, but then i thought of how am i going to get to them afterwards. cause im 6' 6" and 300lbs and my bigass is not getting in there..
  2. You do realise what 8 12's will do to unglued panel right? A skinny person will be able to screw down the subwoofers. Or some kid. Well i know that they are going to make alot of pressure, but i want to be able to access the subs incase one blows or i need to get to them..
  3. I'm hoping so.. not in it for high numbers anymore, just want a windmachine..
  4. If I get it done in time..this will be a long build.. im not in a hurry, i want to get it right..
  5. Hey Guys, Just thought I would post up my future re-build for the Mazda.. The subs will be Sundown Sa 12's.. I have decided that I'm done with the whole wall thing.. Let me know what you think.. And if anyone wonders how i intend to mount the subs, this is the idea i have come up with.. An access panel..I will be using weather stripping under the panel to make it air tight..
  6. If you know Jacob, what is the specs of his enclosure or enclosures? Tunning? Looks like a common chamber.. Thanx Jay
  7. So do any of you think I should go with my new design plans or go with something else?
  8. Just thought of this enclosure instead....what do you all think..
  9. I have been thinking of just building a large enclosure for either 12 or 16 sundown sa 12's.. I wanted to try the other types of builds, but can't seem to get the help I need..
  10. No goals really, just want to experience a different enclosure for the first time..I see alot of builds going from walls, regular boxes to clamshells or 4thorders.. I have built alot of the same, but none of these.. I did not know for sure what one would be better.. I like really like the lows and i've seen vids of both doing really well..
  11. Hey Guys, I'm going to be building up the suburban hopefully in a month and was wondering if anyone could give me some imput on how to tune a clamshell or 4thorder.. I have not got things measured out yet, just wanted to know the process of how to come up with the right tunning..I am leaning more to the 4thorder design, but any help would be helpfull.. Jay
  12. I was considering maybe doing a 4th order.. would that work?
  13. I was going to rebuild the mazda, but have decided i should do something with my burban that just is sitting in my backyard...I'm up for any ideas you all think.. Like i have stated in my other post i have 6 type r 12's collecting dust and i also have 2 mtx 7801d amps also not doing anything.... Here are some pics of the beast..
  14. Those doors are going to scream.. Nice looking enclosure.. Jay
  15. To think i wanted to get some SA-8s, but now i think i will be waiting for what comes next with these...I think your mind never stops Jacob..you are always coming up with something to make your company strong and successful.. keep up the great work.. Jay
  16. I did think of that, but for my budget buying the SA-12's is a better deal for me..
  17. I really thank you for the help and advice on things..I have heard the customer service is really great.. I have been thinking of selling the alpines anyway, but that will give me the extra cash for the sundowns... I think i will try out the SA -12's hopefully in the near future...Thanx again bigjon. Jay
  18. Its a 1992 mazda extended cab, I have the 2 18's, 2 rockford t1500bd, and 2 audioforce 1100 powercells. I have a small budget and as far as goals go, I have never really cared about the whole high numbers thing.. I just have never built any clamshells or blowthroughs before and would like to put my skills to the test...
  19. Its not really that i'm missing anything with them, but i just feel like the bug for running 18's has worn out. This is by far the loudest system that i have built, but i have always ran 12's.. I see in your sig that you are using sundown. How would they stack up to type r's? Where i live i have not seen anybody use sundown.
  20. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what i should do..
  21. I have been wondering to myself if i should tearout my current system and start over with something else... I have my 2 Fi Bl 18's 2008models and have been thinking of going back to 12's.. I have 6 alpine type r 12 just sitting around doing nothing...I would like to buy 4 sundown sa-12's.. I'm not sure how they compare to the type r's, i have not used any sundown products before.. I have wanted to maybe due a blowthrough or a clamshell design, but I can't seem to find a canopy for my truck.. All suggestions welcome..Thanx guys Jay
  22. congrats Jacob, looks like you have the future Sundown owner to take over when you retire.
  23. Yes, all coax. I like the sound better.
  24. The small circle is for the window crank. The small square is for the door release.
  25. Just thought I would post my idea for my doorpanels. Not sure on what to power them with. I was thinking 2 t600-2's 1 per door. Let me know what you guys think.
