  1. I downloaded the program and don't see an option for a square wave. The only listed options are Sine, White, Pink. To me, white and pink both sound like static. Is that what clipping sounds like?
  2. No doubt man, you do awesome work! You don't happen to live in the Midwest and are willing to teach? I'd be willing to work for free to learn
  3. Sorry if you're losing money, but half of the problem is the markup of the brick and mortar businesses. I try to support small businesses rather than online whenever I can. I went to the local shop to get a price quote on the Autopage RS-1000, and it was 800$ retail + 200$ install. I looked online and found it for 205$. It's one thing to pay a few extra dollars to have warranty, and customer service. It's another to pay 4-5X internet cost to have this. If money grew on trees and everyone had plenty of it, more people probably would. But considering the state of the economy, you're stupid to go to a retail shop and pay retail when you can find the same thing online for usually half the price. PS. I did go ahead and pay 1500$ for a head unit from a local shop to let them make some commission, even though I found the same unit online for 1000$ with warranty. But I went and bought everything else online, and they were happy I bought the headunit through them. So I'm not a total prude, it's just hard right now considering the state of the economy not to price shop for the best deal. I hear ya. Even most brick and mortar locations are chit these days... All about markup and not about the customer. I have nothing against buying online. I just recommend buying quality products from people who know what they are selling rather than buying whored out crap from money launderers. Oh my bad I misunderstood. Definitely only purchase from companies you know are solid. I would rather pay a little extra and buy online from someone I know stands by their products and customers than try some random no-name website in the hope of getting a slightly better deal. I think the brick and mortar locations need to get with the times. I was talking to one of my local installers and he said his dealer prices were sometimes higher than the price I can find the stuff for through legitimate companies online. I brought in a few invoices from places like Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com and SonicElectrix.com and he said their dealer cost was almost on par or over the prices I was showing them, and you can usually find it even cheaper on ebay through high positive feedback power sellers. A few of their products they sell for even higher than retail (which I don't understand cause after the first time I paid over retail for an item it angered me to a point to where I only wanted to buy online). If they bought it at a decent price, added a 100$ for each item, and then charged 60$ an hour for installs or whatever, they'd make decent money. Instead, they get a Memphis MoJo 4k for 600$ and then charge 2400$ to the customer. It's insane. No wonder people shop online. It's like that alarm. The same alarm is 200$ on ebay through reputable dealers, or 300$ through an authorized online dealer such as crutchfield, but the local shop was charging 800$ without install for the same alarm. It's hard sometimes, because I want to support the local business, but at the same time I don't want to lose thousands of dollars doing it.
  4. Darn I wish I could do that
  5. Glad you listened to the consumers on this one. Everyone liked your amps. People will buy them just to match the subs. Free money! LOL!

  7. What if I told you the SD-1's get just as loud as your BM's? Seriously?? Dayum, I wish I woulda stocked up on them when they were for the cheap!! I coulda made a killing!
  8. Wow, if I had something like that under my bed while I was licking my girlfriend, my job would be ALOT easier!
  9. Thanks. I kept the install simple and clean. My customer needed his truck so I only had two days to do the install. LOL! I was going to compliment you on your skills, but the "only had 2 days" comment makes me want to yell "showoff!". Nah, great looking install dude. I wish I could do that in a week, or at all lol. That custom chit is amazing and I want to learn how to do it bad. I have a friend with a truck that has no door panels and no place for speakers, it's real weird. And the only way to put them in there is to custom build something for them to sit in, which of course I don't know how to do. So he has to go pay someone bookoo dollars to set him up a system and he's a broke mojo! I like how you set the amps up too, pretty sweet.
  10. Well... How many amps is his alternator? That'll help us know the power limit a little better. Is he planning on amping his highs also? I have 2 systems. One of them is a Grand Prix with a stock 60A, and the other is a Honda Odyssey with a stock 130A. I put an inefficient (audiobahn 2300hct--I'd guess around 1500 RMS but listed as 2400) sub amp in there and the thing dimmed like crazy in the Grand Prix until I put a 200A alt in there. The Honda has an Orion 2500D powering a Critical Mass UL12 at full power, and a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 at almost full power (near 800 RMS) and I have no dimming at all, with the stock alt. So let us know what alternator he has, and we can guestimate your power limits better. Your friend sounds like he just wants to get loud, so that should be fairly easy for the internet crowd. That money wouldn't buy jack at a circuit city or a best buy, but you can get a ground pounder on the net with that kinda cash. I got my friend a system consisting of a Sundown 1000D and 2 Kicker CVR's and the total was $380 and it beats most people that spend over 1200 at best buy (I know, because my first system was from Circuit City, spent $400 on a Kenwood 1000 (max) amp and then 600$ on Infinity subs and the system I got my friend smashes mine). And yah, if he just wants loud, Alpine Type R can be found cheap online and get loud. Same with Kicker CVR. I found my friend the CVR's for 80$ shipped brand new. They don't sound good as Sundown or Stereo Integrity or RE, but they get loud. Anyways, GL, and don't go to a store!
  11. I'm one of the ones that like to crank it sometimes. What of it? Nah, I run a Sundown 1000D and 2 SI BM's. I sound damn good and I can get loud. NOW WHAT!
  12. You know there's not an audible difference between 1500 and 2000W, right? There's no reason to match RMS values. Only thing you get usually is more distortion and more heat in the coil. I think the amp will sell well but more with the competition crowd than the average consumer. The 1000D should be a hot seller for sure though. Oh good point. Although, I changed out a JL 1000/1 and put in a Sundown 1000D and noticed an audible difference (in favor of Sundown) so I dunno. If there's no audible difference in 500 watts, then either my JL is fugged up, or the Sundown is WAY underrated! I just like to match rms levels. I feel like if the sub says it can handle 1000, I want to give it 1000 clean. I want to push it just to the point of hurting it. I don't know why, maybe I just like changing out setups bwahaha.
  13. Now just needs some pimp more 5/6 channels. Fixed. What are you thinking would be a popular 5 channel? I'm thinking something along the lines of 75 X 4, and 1000 RMS sub channel would be a super popular item, considering how many people run 400-500 RMS subs, and most speakers are 50-75 RMS. I mean if a friend was looking for a system (one that sounds good, not merely loud), I'd point them in that direction. 75 RMS and 1000 RMS sounds damn good and gets loud enough for almost everyone I know. I know alot of people probably want something adjusted though for active, although I don't think it would sell as well, because I've never met a single person IRL that is running active, so I don't even know what an active setup looks like or sounds like. I'm guessing the active people want like 150X2, 75X2, and then 500-1000 RMS for sub channel?
  14. ARGGHHH!! LOL! The 2 amps I'm waiting for the most have no ETA's But seriously, I think you should at least rush the 2000D. I know your subs are 1500's, but there are ALOT of people running 1000 RMS subwoofers, moreso than single 1500 RMS subs, or 750 RMS subs. I plan on getting 2 1000 RMS subs as soon as your 2000D comes in (not that it matters to you or anything ). I'm just thinking there are a ton of 1000 RMS subs and quite a few 2000 RMS subs that the SAZ-2000D would be a hot selling item. And I would prefer to not have to buy a different brand if I can. Loyalty is one of my favorite traits, right there next to honesty. Thanks again also for all your excellent customer service and help. I know you've heard it a million times, but it really is appreciated here. I've tried to make up for your kindness by getting a few of my friends to buy your gear (wasn't really hard after they heard mine tho ) Thanks again bro!
  15. Yep. The 2000D is basically a scaled up SAZ-1500D. How much longer on this 2000D? I think it should be a very popular amp. As there are a TON of subs that can take 1000 RMS, so running 2 obviously requires 2k RMS. There are also quite a few 2000 RMS subs D2 VC that need this kind of power. I have a feeling I'd be underpowering my Cmass UL12 with a 1500D, or my RE XXX with it. Desperately awaiting this amp, hopefully it comes soon! Please don't make me go with a diff company. I'm wanting to stay loyal!
  16. I'm so happy for you Jacob. Shows what word of mouth can really do. I took my sundown amp to the local shop here in Columbia and the guy there said, "You know alot of companies will take their amps and put any name on them you want if you pay them a little extra", and he was implying that your company merely paid kicker or someone to put a new face on one of their amps so you could sell them as your own. He had never heard of your amps and he was bragging to me about how all the major SPL competitors locally come to his shop to get their work done. Hopefully as more people keep winning with your amps the word spreads quicker and people like those at my shop will stop acting like I'm buying some crap brand to save a few dollars. It's rather annoying to bring in a quality amp and being insulted because the guys there know nothing about it. He also thought that adding the Sundown 100.4 would be a downgrade from the JL A4300. After it was installed tho he STFU, it was great. Love you Jacob, wish you the best of luck on your continued success!
  17. The suspense is killing me. I have a pair of the old BM's in 4 cubes ported at 34hz currently. My friend who swears by JL, and probably spent over 6k on his system is in awe of how good those BM's sound. They're running off a JL 1000/1 and he is amazed at the SQ. My only wish would be slightly higher output, as the SQ is perfect for me. These new mags I think would be perfect, and I can't wait to show them off. He's already upset he spent so much after hearing those BM's lol.
  18. Nicely written question. If you're strictly looking for an amp that puts out the numbers you want, at the cheapest price available, then Hifonics or some of the other cheaper brands might be what you're looking for. They are a good value for the money, as far as putting out watts for cheap. The problem lies not with the numbers as much, even though they are slightly overrated. The problem lies in the fact that they use less quality parts. This results in an amp that gets hotter and has a shorter lifespan than an amp that uses quality parts. Sure you would probably get a Hifonics amp to put out equal power to a sundown amp, for about half the price. But at the same time, it's not going to be made with as much quality. The sundown amp will be able to take various different loads and still perform better. The sundown will outlast the hifonics, in any install, merely because the quality of parts is just better. If you push the sundown, it will maintain it's stability alot better than the cheaper amps. Say you decide to push your amp hard, it will probably hurt the cheaper amps more than the sundown. So the answer to your question is I would choose a Sundown, just because I know, even though it might cost a little more, it will flat out last longer, provide rated power, and take more stress than any of the other amps you have listed. If I decide to push my amp hard, I know I won't hurt my sundown, whereas the other amps might take a beating and crap out. To me, the extra money is well spent, because it's an amp I probably won't have to replace. I'll buy my sundown and have it for years, no matter how hard I decide to push it. The other amps do just fine in normal situations, when run moderately, especially for the price, but I personally would rather pay extra for quality and longetivity. Some people, who aren't going to push their amps, and who might only use them very sparringly might be well off with a lesser quality amp. It might be ok in a situation to buy a cheaper amp when you're going to run it very cooled in a 4 ohm operation, and maybe only use it at less than maximum potential. But as alot of people mention, cheap ends up getting expensive, when you decide to buy a cheaper amp, and it ends up dying or needing a repair in half the amount of time. So really it just depends on how you plan to use it. If you plan on pushing the amp to the max potential and keep it from doing much damage, I'd go with the sundown, hands down. You'll have it forever, and you'll love it the entire time. I would personally save up to buy one, just because of that factor. But if price is that big a concern then you can safely go with the other amps, and as long as you aren't pushing them very hard, they should last you a long time and you'd probably be happy. Also, I personally prefer to buy used, until you end up with the system you know you'll keep forever. Most people in this hobby like to upgrade or try new things often, and used items hold their value alot better than new items (you're more likely to get back what you paid on a used item, whereas you'll never get back what you paid on a new item, and it's usually close to half). Once you have decided on the system you know you'll keep forever, then you're good to buy new, but until then I'd buy used, but that's just me. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  19. Is that safe btw? Just wondering if uber high voltage would hurt an amp or not. GL.
  20. I'd pay for one, especially if it was something you could remove and reattach if you wanted to. That'd be awesome! Just don't know if it'd be worth the trouble, but definately looks cool.
  21. Yep, that will be a perfect amount of power for a pair of new Mags. What about 2 Sundown 1000D strapped? Also, I love how you and Jake both answer questions to your customers, and even us noobs without talking down to us. You have a customer for life here. Thanks again, and great luck on your company.
  22. Sweet dude, how hard was it to make a skin? The amps look great stock, but it would be cool to have customizable skins. I personally liked the flames like I see in your avatar. A skin like that would be sweet. Wood grain would be popular too I think.
  23. You might be right, I don't know enough about all this to say one way or another. I'm only relating my current experience. I have a Audiobahn 2300HCT in my 2000 Grand Prix and it only had a 60A alternator. I added a 2nd battery and did not notice a single bit of difference with dimming. I did the big 3 and noticed a difference then, but only a few volume levels worth. I added the alternator and receive NO dimming what so ever now, at any volume. But I have an Optima Yellowtop under the hood, and another in the trunk, and I've heard those aren't so good compared to other batteries, so that might be why.
  24. I just got my alternator upgraded from a 60A alternator to a 200A alternator. WOW what an improvement. I don't think I even need my 2nd battery now. It sounds like a totally new system. I can't explain it. I actually bought a sundown 100.4 because my highs were getting overpowered by my bass so badly that I figured I needed to upgrade my amp. Turns out there just wasn't enough power for both. My highs with only 45 rms to each now keep up, and actually sounds good with the EQ flat. Wow what an improvement. The big 3 + 2nd battery have nothing on this, seriously. I'd go with the alternator first and see if you even need the other stuff man. I still can't believe the difference it made. Not only do my lights not dim, but everything sounds better. LOL, I wasn't getting the power my system was wanting before, no wonder it sounded like crap!
  25. Don't worry about the specs, I just got ahead of him and told him to do it 4 ft ^3, tuned at 34, with a 40-48 inches port area. He seemed upset when I repeated what you said about not tuning lower than 34, but hey, can't argue with the creator lol. Thanks a ton for the help man, this is the reason I refer everyone to you guys! Mucho appreciated, I almost had a funky box for my BM's!
