  1. Oh ok that sounds sick. What will you do w/ the old sub?
  2. I asked: If you ever had time, I was wondering if you could find out what happened to my AA Havoc 15. I sent it in a got it fixed a while ago, and I have it fine, but Scott and I could never figure out why it "broke." I was wondering if you could ask the tech or anything just what specifically happened to it... I mean the coil looked fine, tinsels were fine, nothing separated, coils read good on DMM... and after it stopped working, I took it out of the box and free aired it, and IT PLAYED. Then I let it sit still overnight and tried to play it again the next day and it wasn't working again. It is fixed and at my house now so it's all good, just don't want to repeat past mistakes. I just wanna know did I fry the coil, separate coil from former, open the coil, or what? SS Filter: 24 oct/Db @ 28 htz. Box was 3.6 @ 33 htz or so. I'm running it off a RF T10001bd. The filter has always been on and I never ran it free air above very low volume. There was one time I let it go far, and the SSF may or may have not been on, I can't remember, but it was months before it failed. It failed on the song "I Look Good" by "The Pack" (that has mostly 40's and above bass). That is really odd. It had the non-embedded leads as well. Older version. Well thank you for looking that up and the fast response man. That is really really weird. I'll make sure the SSF is on and always on though. Thanks! From: Nick - Fi Car Audio Searched through the Tech logs and what not and found these notes. There were some marks on the back of the spiders where it hit the top plate. Looks like that it sheered off the connections to the leads within the spider pack. More less just an over excursion situation. You might want to look at your subsonic filter and adjust it up a little bit. This is the first and only Havoc failure we've had actually. So there you go. Very odd. Never noticed it bottoming out or anything. Oh well. I know to watch out for that from now on. BTW-what are the specs of the new box you building? Is it for your 15?
  3. Yeah... Coil looked fine, tinsels were fine, nothing separated, coils read good on DMM... and after it stopped working, I took it out of the box and free aired it, and IT PLAYED. Then I let it sit still overnight and tried to play it again the next day and it wasn't working again. I'm still working on finding out what happened to it.......
  4. Call RF Tech... They do recones. You just have to send the sub to them. I hope you are going to talk to the shop about this right?
  5. An 18 BL would do fine in 7.0 cu ft net...
  6. Well it was part user error w/ gains to high possibly? So it's not all the amp
  7. Well... They will both sound very good and your goals are vague... but I would recommend the Havoc purely because you will not be pushing it as hard as you would a Chaos w/ 1000+ watts.
  8. I don't think it is stable at 1 ohm. Just get a Dual 1 ohm BL 15 with cooling option and a ported box tuned to 35 htz and run it a 2 ohms off that amp you have. You don't care about SQ. You want loud, and that will get you loud. (sound pretty decent as well)
  9. I'd recommend having at least 1500 watts to run two Fi Q's... 2000 preferably.
  10. Something like this http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserve...s6EVs6E666666--
  11. What an ignorant statement. Anyway, how much power was he running to that... and what amp? Wow...
  12. The chances of you thermally overpowering a Q w/ BP or a Havoc w/ 1500 watts is very small. Now, clipping will definitely do it. Just keep that in mind. You'd be better to have more available "clean" power than barely enough power. Headroom is always a plus.

    Miniature bump...
  14. There are slight differences in the drivers. Small things. For example, the Havoc sounds a lil bit different than the Q for sure, even though they are very similar. They are owned by the same guy, and you will get the same amazing customer service w/ both companies.
  15. It's only adding copper. Don't see how it could
  16. It won't be an issue and they are only RE's anyway. HA!
  17. nick_19 replied to Snafu's topic in Fi Products
Ok. I would recommend 2 15" Q's in a ported enclosure. Give each sub about 3.5 cu ft net (7 cu ft total) and tune to 34-35 htz. Put the BP Option on each sub, and you could run it off of a SAZ-3000D! Or if you do not want to deal with the electrical upgrades, you could get something like a RF T2000.1bd
  18. I'll get flamed for this, but I noticed little to no difference when I did the big 3, but when I removed my cap for a week for repair, I noticed a HUGE loss. I couldn't even run my system my voltage was dropping so bad. Down to 11.3 volts... Put it back in, and rarely drop below 14
  19. I'd recommend a double baffle. Even w/ allthread.
  20. thats alot of numbers friend.......... .... I've been able to do that since... 4th grade? thats alot of numbers friend..........he meant divide by 1728 Indeed I did! Thank you.
  21. I'm not a big fan of how litigious we've become as a society, no. I could see covering your medical bills fully, making up for wages you might have earned in the time it takes to recover, things like that...but it's not Wal-Mart's responsibility to pay off all your debts Maybe I just have an extreme of that position, though. You don't. You are saying/thinking the exact same as me. Just more elaborately.

AHHHH DO IT NOW! Ha. The only reason I ever made this thread was because I was showing a friend the brand of my sub, and he became interested. He was looking at the description of the Havoc 12 and just laughed. I am excited to see the new site!
  23. I believe in suing 100% where it is applicable. I just see more and more cases of people suing where it would be best left alone. But I definitely think you should sue for medical expenses/time lost out of work, as you would not have fallen if it wasn't for them.
  24. Damn looks amazing. He doesn't worry about the subs getting wet?
  25. LPF = 60 Subsonic = 28 htz Gain = depends Bass boost = Big 3 =
