  1. Translation because I feel nice: "Please help me decide between: Option 1: 4 DC Sound Lab Level 4 15" subs walled running off of a SAZ-3000D (subs are 1000 RMS) Option 2 : 2 DC Sound Lab Level 4 XL 15" subs in a CRX style box running off of a SAZ-3000D (subs are 1500 RMS)"
  2. I'm thinking that maybe the long period of time that you bumped might have lowered the voltage over time. I remember one time a friend and I were breaking in/testing his sub, and so we had my car playing solid for over 2 hours, and I got back in and my voltage was 13.4 idle (as opposed to the normal 14.9 idle) and it took it about a day to get back to normal, so maybe that is what happened?
  3. It wired w/ 4 or 0 gague? What size external amp? (in-wire)
  4. AA Havoc might be another option.
  5. Oh and as far as you leaning towards getting one, I would def recommend it. I didn't have one until about a month ago, and I'm very glad I got it.
  6. Sweet. I was just saying that as a comment to an earlier made post that said something about checking the sub. You sound like you know what you're doing, so that's good. The fact that the amp was hot and the fuses were blown can really lead us to the direction of voltage being too low. Alright sounds great. Let us know the results when you get to check it!
  7. Ok... Do you have a voltage meter? Do you have any clue what your idle voltage is or what it drops to when bumpin?
  8. Eh no. Your car has a 90 amp stock alternator. That should be fine. Have you done the Big 3?
  9. Running for a long time on low voltage... I've ran my amp and sub for 2-3 hours at parties at full blast (w/ car running) and my voltage will not go below 13.5... If it drops below 12 for prolonged periods of time, it is very stressful on the amp. And as long as you DO NOT clip the signal to the sub, it should be able to take 1000 watts all day long.
  10. They are in Las Vegas, NV so no worries w/ the storm. I would recommend emailing them for help, as they usually do not check the forums.

They almost never check the forums. Email them at [email protected] or [email protected]
  12. I would think Jacob would use those. Very nice pics!!!
  13. Let's do it. I can't wait to see the final results of all this testing. What a beastly sub!
  14. Nightmare? Or is that a trademark violation from some other company? http://www.morewords.com/contains/night/
  15. Sounds like Hood Nigga by Gorilla Zoe to the rescue... Peaks at 34~37 htz and on the remix w/ Young Jeezy (I have the song if you need me to email it to you) it keeps that up for exactly 31 seconds. It has one 3 second break where the bass isn't as strong, but the rest of the time it is VERY constant. Another good one would be Zero Tolerance by Lil' Wyte... Peaks at around 36~37 htz and holds constant throughout.
  16. I do not know. It is a driver off of a home system. This is for fun. It comes stock in a ~ .03 cuft box tuned to somwhere around 42 htz. This is an experiment. For fun. I just want to try this out and see what happens.
  17. Ok thank you. Would you say ported or sealed?
  18. kkk thanks
  19. Oh ok good. Nice box. I would say that audibly, there will not be too much difference. The BL might get a lil bit lower and maybe slightly louder. Not much though. I can't say too much because I've only heard one 10" BL and 2 12" Type R's... I will tell you that one thing about the BL is that you can add about 500 watts to the amount of power you are now throwing at it. It'll handle 1500 clean watts if it's fully loaded. So if you can ever upgrade amps, that would probably give you a difference in volume.
  20. It will sound horrible. Put in a box and that might change though What kind of box will this go in?
  21. Yeah... hopefully it won't be totaled though... I'll keep you updated. We will know the condition of the truck in less than a week, and if it fixable the box building will begin! We've had this build planned forever... and we were just bout to get really started. Then this. Oh well. It'll all work out.
  22. Seems things always happen like this. The day we decide to start the build, he gets in a wreck. Crossing the highway, a lady turned onto the highway and T-boned him. He's fine as is all the equipment. His door and fender are screwed though. Might total the truck... it's not worth too much. Sad sad stuff man....
  23. Sweet. Good to see updates! Keep up THE good work
  24. And it's also the reason you have subs. Definition of sub-: pref. 1. Below; under; beneath Definition of woofer: n. 1. A loudspeaker designed to reproduce bass frequencies. Just tell him that and see what he has to say about the SUBwoofers only producing the LOW frequencies. Lol.
  25. And by midbass I mean like 80-120 htz... not a midrange. Still don't go w/ just one?
