  1. Won't be better than nothing? And I would have used it in the center of the vehicle... I cannot do any mods to the doors or kicks... I am just looking for anything. Not going for super SQ, I just want to have some midbass... I know it's ghetto, but I'm tryin to get by.
  2. Hey guys. I've got a little 6.5 inch woofer that I am going to use a midbass driver. What kind of enclosure should I put it in? Sealed or ported and what size/tuning? Thanks guys. It will be run off of about 50~60 watts.
  3. I vote to go w/ Ascendant Audio. Amazing service and products. Never heard the Arsenal, but my Havoc is amazing.
  4. The surround is metal?!?!? What kind of sub is this?
  5. I've heard a Fi Q 15 in 3.3 cu ft tuned to 33 htz and in 3.7 tuned to 33 htz and in 4.5 tuned to 32 htz. I would personally recommend 3.5-4.0 tuned to 30-32 for rap. It gets so low and loud. The upper end really doesn't suffer too much from the extra space, and there is a real difference in the lows.
  6. I've got my T10001bd on stock alt, Autocraft Titanium batt, and Big 3... Full tilt @ idle never drops below mid 13's. Drivin it never goes below 14.3 or so. You should be good, depending on your alt size... How many amps does your alternator put out? How often do you play your stereo loud w/ the car off?
  7. damn... i think i fell in love.
  8. Sup guys. Any and all suggestions/comments welcome! Ok this will be a long build w/ occasional updates. There will be 2 Rockford Fosgate Power 1000's Powering front stage (undecided) and 2 Fi Q 15's. This is a VERY small truck, so it will be close to a wall, but not really. Each sub will have it's own 4.05 cu ft box tuned to 29.78 htz. The two boxes will go side by side facing forward in what used to be the back seat (taken out). It has a 170 amp alt and a Autocraft Titanium Battery. All wiring will be in 1/0 KnuKonceptz (including already done big 3). Kenwood Excelon KAC-591 h/u... Already got both subs and one amp. Need to get the other amp. Truck has 2-5 layers of Dynamat everywhere. Just for fun, he ran the Termlab on his single Fi Q 15 in a 3.3 cuft box tuned to 33 htz. Outlaw-141.8 sub/port up... 142.1 sub/port forward. Should be louder in his newer box. Even louder and lower in these planned boxes! Pics of his new box/truck (new box is 3.7 @ 33 htz). Pics of the sub (brand new) I borrowed for a week (the other sub is the one in the pic above) Pics of box specs/plans: how the wood joints will fit together
  9. Agreed completely. FI/AA ftw!
  10. Oh dear. Bass boost? Preset bass boost? That will not give you more power. Ever. Your amp will merely clip and destroy your subs. No good. I'd say just run it at 2.67 ohms and set your gains properly with the 3 X's sealed.
  11. I think most people do. At least I don't see very many people talking while they type. Just try. It is very difficult to read and understand and help you because of the grammar, or lack thereof.
  12. Two way different subs. Are you looking just just get insane loud or are you looking a little bit more for sound quality? I personally would recommend you compare Q's to Icons... Or maybe even an AA Havoc...
  13. The two channels are wired in parallel. It's like having one channel w/ a clone. Just makes it easier to wire up subs. Why don't you take everyone's advice and just use punctuation at least?
  14. mrray13=Great seller! Shipped quick, great communication, and product of course! Much thanks!
  15. Incredible describes it. Something happened (unknown) to my sub, most likely something thermal, and it broke. I sent it in a after an extremely polite and helpful call to Scott. The basket broke on the way there somehow even though the sub was shipped in a box with a wooden frame built in it (stupid USPS). He didn't even charge me for that. He completely rebuilt the sub for free... Under warranty. He told me this by actually calling me. No other company has done that for me before. Anyone who complains about the service of this company is ignorant and has obviously not dealt with them before. Incredible company in every area. 500% satisfied. I normally don't write reviews, but the service I received from them was just extraordinary. I just want you all to know how far this company is set apart from so many others.
  16. Lol it's all good. And I check this topic everyday, so if you got any questions, just ask me. You should have minimal flex w/ two baffles. If you have extra room, you can double up on any side. You cannot do internal braces, because that would throw the airspace and tuning off. If you decide to double up a side, just add the sheet on the outside of the box. Like put it together w/ the pieces I listed, then take the measurements of the outside and make the extra pieces. These subs are only 600 RMS a piece, and I think single .75 will work great, but doubling always helps if you can! Pics are always great!
  17. yupp. but that one 17.3 is a 17.5 I'll draw you up a cut sheet when i get time... classes are kickin my butt. i'll try to get them done by late tomoro night aight here we go put it together like i showed w/ the joints. tips: put together the two sets of two port pieces together w/ screws and glue b4 you screw them onto the box. It makes a funky angle that is hard to get to w/ your drill. put together the box in the order i did w/ my box... i find that to be the easiest: put it all together on the 'bottom' of the box, then put the top on. i'd recommend taking another 'top' piece and put it on top of the top to make a double baffle. any questions, just ask me. Gross-11.08 Gross per chamber-4.16 Tuning-29.79 Net per chamber-3.75 Port area-104 in^2
  18. oh 17.5 lol that is inside dimension
  19. The height! Lol. I'll draw you out some cuts and stuff if you'll use this plan. The outside numbers are the outer dimensions.
  20. Yeah, but longer than a yardstick.
  21. Here. My specs are flawless... trust me. I did all the math 3 times. By hand, no online calculators... I took my time to do this for you, so trust me, it's right. I can also draw up cuts for ya if you want. I did a 3 inch port, then 6 inch combined in order to keep the math the same... otherwise it would get too complicated. I couldn't get exactly 30 htz for tuning, but I got right under it. Does this look good for you? 3.7515 ft^3 net per chamber 29.79 htz tuning freq
  22. Look at the pics of my box build. That is the best method. Those cuts we made were soooo straight. I'd recommend doing it like that
  23. Just email him dude.
  24. The port caculator http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and other online calculators use the xmax in the calculations PURELY for the purpose of determining how much port area there should be. Tuning freq is dependent on box ONLY, not the driver. Port area for this box should be about 120+ in^2... If you want me to, I will draw up plans for you. Free of course. Just to back up your work or to work off of. You will love these subs if you get them in the right box... And I would recommend 30 htz for tuning. My draw ups look like this (i like doing it all by hand) And just for fun here is my box build log if you wanna look at it (took only two days to build this box: one day cuts and one day assemble and paint): http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=20625
