  2. Mmmm. that box is sexy.
  3. oooh ahhh "I would suggest stainless steel mesh. I don't know that you will find chromed mesh. Or you might look at perforated metal and have that chromed. If you think about how mesh is made, it would have to be chromed after weaving as chromed wire would be brittle and not survive the weaving process. To chrome mesh after weaving will produce a product where the chrome will be thin or dull at the wire intersections, or worse, bridging two wires at their intersections. This will lead to premature rusting." Get stainless, polish it and remember you can weld it also.
  4. I would trust this brand over 95% others. When I screwed my sub, I was able to call Scott and talk to him one on one to figure out what I needed to do... He even called me and left a voicemail when my sub was ready to be shipped out and was fixed! Great guy to do business with, and Nick is a great guy; very polite and helpful! Have no fear w/ AA or Fi!

I mean 2 12's = more space required, more power required, more $$$ BUT it will be louder for sure provided the proper installation 1 15 = slightly better low end, less power needed, less $$$ needed, will not be as loud probably.

  11. I hate the mail. They managed to break the basket of my Havoc... It was in a wooden frame box too. Idiots.
  12. Uh huh! What is it then? I mean what makes it not a daily sub?
  13. Nightmare... Would be cool to have a sub I thought of the name for I just don't know!!!! If there is any way on this world I could find a 15" LMS Ultra for 600 bucks... omfg. PS-name thing i'm talkin bout clicky
  14. On that note... don't worry about the weird impedance. This coil was 0.4 louder at 0.75 nominal than our other coil was at a true 0.50 nominal load -- louder with less power FTW. Ha ok. I was just trying to get a feel for this sub. I'm feeling it is almost pure SPL. I was just curious b/c I saw your results w/ the copper coil on the Nightshade and that was exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for this. But for what this sub is built for, it looks like it's gonna be a freaking animal. It is NOT just pure SPL, actually Would be just fine daily. Actually has a lower Fs than the Nightshade because the coil is twice as heavy and we use the same spider setup. But since the motor force is twice as high it more than makes up for the added mass. Hmmm... You tempt me. Gotta ask... is the Fs below 30? When do you think you will release preliminary T/S parameters? Yay this is fun! Nothing like customer service. Your a great guy for putting up w/ the questions Jacob!!!
  15. Oh this is just for fun. Purchase will be made 1-1.5 years from now. Jacob's beast sub looks more oriented towards SPL than I am looking for, and do you think the Xcon will be able to handle 3000+ comfortable all day?
  16. Aight. So I am looking over the course of the next year to find my dream sub. I'm not dissatisfied, I will just be upgrading. Now I have been looking around and there are so many options, and there are so many subs I do not know about. Anyway... details... -15" sub... budget of ~500-600 dollars -NOT an SPL sub, but I want it to handle around 3000-3500 watts all day -Fs under 30 hz (low resonance) -Xmax of 25+mm (above average excursion) -Good motor strength (average-above average) -Good mech. handling (I'll put in as big a box as I can) -It'll be ported for sure. Probably tuned around 28-30 hz. Now a fully loaded BTL w/ everything is 470 shipped. I figured my budget is reasonable. Doesn't have to be new. I've been looking at the new SMD AA sub, but no specs or prices on it yet. My dream sub is the LMS ultra... but a little over my budget. I am even willing to get a old used motor and have something built for it, but I'd rather not for price and reconing reaons. I am just not as experienced with the millions of subs out there, and I'm sure someone can enlighten me. It'll go on a SAZ-3000 or RF T30001bd or similar. I listen to rap and I love low notes (low being about 25 and such). My system now peaks at 33hz and I love that. PS-for informational purposes, I have a AA Havoc right now.
  17. 15" Havoc and Q
  18. Thanks! And nice score. Wish I could do that ha!
  19. Box looks good. Specs are fine to me. Do you have any options on your BTL?

  21. Wow. That is impressive. How many gross cubic feet can you get? And outer dimensions of the box? Yayyyyyy someone with the same car as meeee!!!!! This is convenient.
  22. How the fudge did you get that box in there? Nice car (I have an '06 GP)
  23. Sweet! Like I said, time is no prob for me. I just want info! So I take it you will offer a 4 inch coil version later on? Will they be customizable (cooling/copper coil/etc) like Nightshades? Or is that TBA... Thanks man! I can't wait to see this thing.
