  1. Its normal for it to break in...the suspension should be the same, its just the difference in age/hours of play.
  2. SSD

    Depends on the application..
  3. Personally i wouldn't put one in the trunk, unless it was a fold down seat that i could fire the sub forward...
  4. Motors dont have a power rating, the coils in them do. If we recone them you should be ok with 800 watts or so on each sub.
  5. If i were you i'd do 4 12's across the front of the bed and put the port up top, personally
  6. Generally speaking 'pacman' style boxes are sealed, and with BTL's i highly recommend that you do not use a sealed enclosure... Why not use a "V" style wall and either put the port in the middle or on the bottom? Regardless this will be something that you will have to do on your own, as it is a specific 'custom' application and there isn't anything "cookie cutter" style about it...it'l have to be something that you draw up yourself, or have a shop build for you following our guidelines on enclosures in the sticky section. Thanks -Nick
  7. Just a product of calculating the BL of the voice coils in series. Honestly it really doesn't matter that much basically match the coil choice to the amplifier that you are choosing to use for the rated power. (amp does power at 1ohm, get the dual 2ohm coils and wire in parallel, if the amp is designed to do power at 2ohms, then do the dual 1ohm coils and wire in series)
  8. Daily driving you are better off getting full cooling if you plan on running in excess of 2000 watts to each sub.
  9. $43 shipped for Small-XL Small through XL So yep!

BL's need significantly less power to get loud versus the BTL's...so you would have to spend less money in the electrical system as well. A Kicker 2500 on a pair of BL's in a ported enclosure (see the sticky section for enclosure recommendations) should work fine.
  11. That's not the point... I'm sure we could recone it, but if you go to sell the woofer again for one reason or another you won't get as much money out of it because it'd be labeled as a hybrid woofer. The perceived value of the "original" DD parts is very high...mainly due to a 3500 series woofer is upwards of 400 dollars now.
  12. Nothing you can do to keep either one from getting their hands on a weapon period. If they are cracked enough in the head they are going to do whatever their minds are set to do.
  13. Cool, glad you like them so far!
  14. Only real way to know is to test. 4th orders are very very picky...might help it...then again it could hurt it badly.
  15. If your wanting to do a full blowthrough then sure...i'd probably do BL's, you'll get a close to similar result as the BTL's, wont need quite as much power. Also will have similar numbers spl wise on a daily tuning Not sure what your asking about the rear seats...if your doing a blow through then most people take them out and build the wall level with the B pillar
  16. nah yous a perty fart smeller..i mean smart feller
  17. Flatwire may be a good idea, that amp does a good bit of power (1800 watts with my personal testing) Generally speaking your looking at a 3-5 day build time, and depending on your location it can be from 1-5 days to get it. So your looking at roughly 2 weeks until its on your doorstep..depending on location of course.
  18. all is well here thus far...all of my friends are ok as far as i know cops finally walking through campus here like mad
  19. Looks good man!
  20. 2.3 cubes is somewhat small...you'll probably have a very peaky response, and there's a good chance that it won't sound good...i've never put one in an enclosure that small. Might want to look into a sealed box, or getting more volume and staying within our guidelines. -Nick
  21. PM's get lost and overlooked a lot... I'm pretty sure i sent your information with the last batch of shirt orders i sent to scott.
  22. Power T30001bd - 3000 watt class bd mono amplifier 1000x1 @ 4 ohms, 2000x1 @ 2 ohms, 3000x1@ 1 ohm, variable 32-250Hz LP 24dB/Octave Butterworth crossover, 12dB/Octave Infrasonic filter @ 27 Hz, RCA inputs, RCA outputs, MasterSync and bdSync capability, 0/180 Phase control, cast aluminum heatsink, military spec PCB, 1/0 AWG power/ground connectors with built in ANL fusing, Intelligent thermal management, and variable 35-70Hz remote ParaPunch Bass EQ 0-18dB. H 2.6" x W 12.8" x L 33". supposed to do 2kw at 2ohm....so yeah you could get away with it
  23. lol...no He wants to get another sub later, run a different amp, and a different final load than he has right now.
  24. Bass boost = bad news bears. Really wish they wouldn't put that junk on amps. Anyhow, subsonic filters are used to cut the frequencies below tuning waaaaaaay back so you don't unload the sub and bottom them out.
