Building a 2-way component set
Whats involved with making a component set? Somebody told me I could find the parts I'd need on Parts Express... If somebody could explain the crossover would help me. I don't understand which I'd need.

Hmm. I might do a few more if thats okay.- Logo Design Contest
Oooohhh I'll try something and see what I come up with... Do we just post them up here? Is there any diemensions ?- Recommendations for a good system
I'll go check it out. IMO, I'd stay away from the cheaper brands... like Pyle and stuff. OH BTW, its probably a 1000W max sub... max means nothing. I think a 200-350W amp would power that sub fine.- Recommendations for a good system
Maybe you should throw up the model # of the sub?- Car Audio Apparel?
Honestly in my city there are none. Most car shows are about 5 hours away and I rarely go..- Car Audio Apparel?
wonder if he has a 3 or 4xl...- Car Audio Apparel?
I wouldn't mind some car audio apparel, specifically a hat. Whats out there? I've never really found anything... hmm... (especially someplace that would ship to Canada)....- Still trying to find my subs...
Update... Still haven't found my subs nor will they call me back.- Sax-100.4
Or save his money, so he can buy a car- SAZ 2000d to come after 5k?
Since everybody is suggesting amps... You should do a SAZ-3000D2.... where it would make 3000W @ 2 ohm ..... and after I sell my truck, my guitar equipment, and my dog, I'd be able to afford it. (but then I wouldn't need it cause I wouldn't have a truck to put it in.) Hell it could be two SAZ-1500Ds internally bridged in the same chassis...- Truck Under Seat Sub Woofers
He cannot seem to make up his mind, plus I already explained to him the differences of regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab and supply pictures of the three. At first he had an extended cab crew, now just an extended cab...- Little experiment... I guess...
With me, with most things I learn by taking them apart and reassembling them. Thats how I got into computers. I took a few old ones apart and reassembled them. I'd kind of like to do the same thing with a sub. Of course I'm not going to tear apart my brand new SPL-12s.(still havent arrived though) I've watched the Discovery Channel video about how a subwoofer goes to together, but thats not enough for me. I see that Mach 5 sells baskets and stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/MEMPHIS-AUDIO-MOJO-18-...1QQcmdZViewItem That is rather neat, even if it is pointless. I'd like to do something simmilar. I'd like to do a 18" subwoofer. I'd like to do it rather on a budget, so if I screw it up I won't be out much. I'm going to look around and see what I can find for woofer parts... see what I come up with and post it here... these are the baskets mach 5 has http://www.mach5audio.com/zen/index.php?ma...ex&cPath=70- MLI-65 Mids
You would be correct. Whats the point of that?- FORD CHEVY OR GMC?
I like my '94 GMC Sonoma.. its got zero options.. If I had to buy new I'd get a crew cab diesel sierra, non 4x4 and bag it ... but I can't afford that.- FORD CHEVY OR GMC?
I seen that when I was in Texas.. not sure if it was in Austin though...- FORD CHEVY OR GMC?
Until someone shows up with a Tatra. Or hell, a 'Mog if we have a requirement of fitting into a parking space And these are both practical. Unimogs are... Theres a guy that drives one around in the city here, big friggin tires, big deck on it and a picker... I think he spend about half an hour at the gas station though.- FORD CHEVY OR GMC?
YES! Unimog for sure.- Dr. Crankenstein
There wasn't really any car audio specific subwoofer that could handle 1000w back then. 1000w amps were over $2-$3 A watt Crankenstein's weren't rated for anything close to what they could handle. I jokingly bought my first pair to see how quick they would die. The fact that they didn't is what enticed me to buy more. The new lines look very similar to a few other companies basket designs. I would be hard pressed to pay anywhere near the msrp they have listed for the new lines now though. Hart had the cardiac series. I believe those were the first 1Kw 12V marketed drivers. Pyle, the original Pyle from Huntington, was great gear for it's period. They began a slow steady decline and eventually the new Pyramid bought them out. Pyramid used to be a very decent company in the late 80s, early 90s. I believe their Gold Series was their top-of-the-line. I had one of those amps for years and threw everything at it and it never faded. Seems like everything is going downhill these days- Dr. Crankenstein
I remember reading things about a van that crankenstein had... ohhh if I could only remember some stuff about it.. pic.... - Logo Design Contest
