  1. That's pretty ambitious for a 1st setup. My 1st set up was 2 10" kickers in a sealed box.LOL Of those 3- I would try the Zv4 just out of curiousity(never heard one). I would bould a normal slot prt box, cuz it is what I know. and throw ~ 2K watts at it. but that is me. Never heard an AA Sub either- but with them seemingly disappearing, the other options seem more attractive. The Zcon's, what can you say...they are bad ass. and power hungry! I am on my 2nd Xcon 18 in my Zuk(sold the first one- then regretted it so much I bought another), so I have nothing but good things to say about SSA. BUT- after all of that. I would seriously contact Quentin(DSS) to see if he has any motoers left to built you an Ethos 12. Half the price of those listed on here. read BigJons, and Swifts reviews on them. BTW- I know a guy with a 12" Zcon for sale if you were interested(I would personally vouch for it).
  2. Like other said- depends on what you wanna keep(onstar, steering wheel controls, sat rad, etc). I am partial to Pioneer- have a pioneer deck in all 4 of my vehicles. Check out my Build (http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61887-lees-avalanche-build/) for my install and equipment list for my 07 Av. I paid 109 I think for my integration harness...but it disables my onstar, and I opted not to do the SWC module...going to remove the steering controls completely. I use Crutchfield and Sonix Electronics to research- then look up pricing for the same stuff on Amazon/Ebay.
  3. I don't really have alot to add here that hasn't been said- Other than I had an 04 ex cab chevy myself, and ran 2 12" Alpine type S sub in a prefab underseat box. Why you are so against a single 12 is beyond my comprehension. I won't try to talk you out of what you want to do- if you want to run 2 DD8's- I am sure thay will make a good amount of knock for you. DD- as well as your install shop, want to make the most money off of you as possible- if they could make more moola be convincing you that 1 12 would sound better- that is what they'd be pushing on you. These guys here are trying to sell you on bang for the buck. that is all.
  4. ^^made me laugh.
  5. Ha- good point- i forgot about the motor.
  6. Too subjective to answer accurately. Without Goals, power, airspace available...
  7. Welcome!
  8. Heck yeah! Those Zcons look ready to do work! Love the blue BTW....
  9. By using a couple of calculators, I am figuring you are looking at ~20" long port by the info you gave. Both of my figures came up to a box tuning of 40hz with all the dimensions you porovided. Just to clarify- I came up with the 20" length by your .640 figure for port displacement. To keep the 2.2 net volume and get to 33hz with the supplied port area, your overall dimension will have to get larger.
  10. That video is sick! When it dropped I screamed inside like a girl.LOL
  11. My pops has worked at Auto Body shops all my life. They bondo'ed the face- sanded, then primed and blocked, and finally painted with factory color PPG basecoat/clearcoat. Then buffed lightly after spraying the Bedliner to remove a lil overspray. It'd cost about 200-300 bucks for the work there, but thanks to my hook up- it'll cost me about 100 in materials, and a few shop lunches. I too done body work for a few years out of high school(at that same dealer)- and can do all the above myself, but for all I have to pay, I let them do the finish(paint) work. I never leave anything alone for long...My Trans Am is on its 4th paint job- the last we stripped it all the way down. EDIT- oh yeah- it is ALL in the TOOLS. True story. Everything my dad owns is Snap On, Mac, or Binks(paint guns). You can do good work with cheaper tools- but good tools make it sooo much easier. NO WAY I could duplicate these results in my driveway.
  12. They do it so random, even out offshore IT guy,(stays here at the base with us) said he doesn't think the guys in the office know how to use it.LOL Oh well- as long as I am not doing anything 'bad'(porn, etc) I doubt they'll fire me. I found out in the last couple of hrs that I am not the only one...by far.
  13. Very nice. Gonna be cottung some rings myself next week- already dreading it.lol
  14. Main Box work is done. Toolmaker parts should be delivered tomorow- lets hope for good weather next hitch home. Ordering my Alternator this hitch too.(as far as i know- the last big ticket item) Completed box- compounding some Bedliner overspray- Ready for the next stage... I had planned to do bolt thru box speaker terminals...but it is just sooo purdy, that I don't think I want to now.
  15. HAHA! They can't phaze me! I remembered way back when- I was told how to use the 'regedit' thing and change the proxy setting to get to the 'open' internet. Our contractors have to have a way to go to their own personal emails, and that is how they do it. it is a pain but way better than nothing! I just have to switch the setting back to do 'work'.
  16. Been on vacation for the past 3 weeks(I work a week on/ week off) and get back to work today to find that they have blocked all the good stuff on our company internet! Facebook, Youtube, pandora, photobucket, etc. For a normal job it wouldn't be so bad...but we LIVE here for a week at a time! This is part of our entertainment when the other are watching something crappy on TV. I was suprized the boards are still working- but no photobucket/hosting sites means NO PICTURES! ARGH! Do any of you browse the site on your phones? I have never tried(I like viewing the web full sized.LOL) but I do have tapatalk for a couple of other boards.(that I never use) I am going to go into SSA Build log withdrawals.LOL PS- they change of firewall protections randomly- so praying that it returns to normal sooner than later. PSS- best think about today is that my Toolmaker order is s'posed to be delivered tomorrow! yay!
  17. very nice work!
  18. Jeeze...I am thinking I am not gonna be running enough power.LOL
  19. Damn...that is artwork.
  20. Have a great birthday Alton!

clean Bug! though I was all excited to see some audio upgrades. It is screaming for a Bpillar wall and 2 15" evils.LOL
  22. It is very easy to go over budget...I was thinking 3-4 grand for my lil system build for the Lanche...I am over that already, lol. But like stated earlier- don't ruin your finances man- debt is hard to recover from.
  23. this is gonna be redonkulous!
  24. picked up 75' of 2/0 welding cable today...can't wait to get my T/M stuff in and start running wire!
