  1. I was messin around and just seein where the power wire would go through, and i realized that the firewall already in use for the factory wires was pretty much full, and i don't see how 1/0 is going to squeeze in there. But a couple inches to the right and one or two inches above it, theres what i'm guessing is an unused firewall hole. Its a rubber surround with a rubber filling. I tried to see where it came out on the engine side, and i couldn't find it. Does anyone know if i could (once i find the hole, as it was a little dark when i did this) puncture the rubber filling and take it through there? If not, what should i do?
  2. Hayes, thanks for answering all my questions. For now i'll be tuned to a little more than 34 but if i want to later i may lower it. Thanks for telling me about the wiring too, i didnt want to get to installing it and find out i needed banana plugs or something; i really appreciate it. Probably sounds noobish to ask that kind of stuff, well it is hahah this is my first setup, i'm just learning (a lot more than i ever would from shops where i live)from the forums. Just curious, what do you have powering your bl?
  3. any opinons? and anything on the terminal on the sub? do i just shave the wire and put it in? or would i need inserts/plugins for it?
  4. i was lookin up fi subs on youtube and ssa was one of the related links thing, and it had a link in the 'information' section on the video... youtube saved me.
  5. First off, i know i already posted this in general car audio, but i just wanted to get as many opinions as possible, and i always seem to more replies in here than anywhere hahah. Sub: Fi BL 18 with flatwind and p chamfer Amp: Hifonics bxi2006d (again, its not sundown or anything, but it should get the job done for now and even if it is overrated, i think 1800 should push a bl just fine. Wiring: Knuconcepts.. look Not included in the kit are RCAs and the speaker wire. Also should i get 10 or 12 gauage, and what do i need to fit it into the terminal on the sub? Enclosure: 6^3ft after all displacement and port, and tuned to 34.4xxx hz. I guess what i'm looking for is the OK from you guys. What do you think? I think im ready but im just making sure.. please comment on the question about 10 or 12 gauge speaker wire and how to fit it into the terminal on the sub. Thanks.
  6. I've never used them, but i've searched here and other forums and they seem to be peoples choice, and kicker wire also. This is actually my first setup so i'm pretty much doing a lot of searching and opinions and going from there.
  7. Thats 8 more square inches than what they recommend (12-16 sq inches per cubic foot)... i dont know what that would do, anyone know?
  8. Thanks denlilvr... i'm most likely ordering the sub tommorow just so i can get my box finished, and buy everything lse within the next 4 or 5 weeks. But anymore opionions on the wire and the things i picked out, anyone?

  10. Alright thanks everyone, and i've heard good things about dupli color so i may be going with that.
  11. Sorry for all the questions lately, but i'm getting very close to having my box complete, and want everything to be right. So, has anyone used bed liner for their boxes? I really like the look of it, and i really dont like the look of carpet (it's allright i guess, it just seems like everyone has it). Does anyone have suggestions on what kind i should buy and maybe a lil info on how to apply it and make it look good? Thanks to everyone thats replied to my questions.
  12. Alright last question (thanks to everyone for replying). How thick should i have the threaded rod be?
  13. Where do you get your threaded rods? is there a special kind i should use?
  14. what's your favorite way to brace then? I've seen some people just cut 2x4s and that seems like it'd take up a lot of volume...
  15. My question is, is it worth it to double up on 3/4" mdf on all sides, or should i just strengthen the side holding the sub? 18" Fi Bl--- p chamfer and flatwind 39"x18"x22" (sub is on 39x22 side) tuned to 34.4xxx hz any suggestions? thanks. also, this is a daily driver, not going to a termlab anytime soon, just want it to be a good, solid setup for daily driving.
  16. Shizzon, why would you only double baffle the side with the subs? i know that it would give them strength, but wouldnt you want to double baffle all sides?
  17. Ok.. i know i need 1/0. i'm just interested in a kit that has everything i need (i dont have to use the 1/0 that comes with it if i can buy the hyperflex seperate). All i'm asking is if that kit would have everything i need to install. this is probably better.. since its for one amp.
  18. Would this be a good kit for me? Kicker PKD1 1/0 Gauge Amp Kit Dual Wiring
  19. Gains will be set low (to start off, i realize hifonics isn't top of the line, but it'll do the job well even if it is overrated).. so any suggestions on a good wiring kit to buy?
  20. So you only double baffle the side with the sub(s) mounted to it? or do you double every side?
  21. Well i plan on an 18" BL, and i was just wanting to make sure i didn't get 99% bass and 1% everything else, but i guess i'll just keep what i have. Oh and pKelly, i didn't think it would sound bad because they'd be facing out, to where the seat wouldn't cover the actual speaker at all
  22. I bought a pair of 3-way 6x9s (pioneer, not the best, but definately better than the stock 99 dodge stereo), and was thinking about adding another pair under the backseat after i get my sub. Would it hurt to get 2-ways (would it sound bad mixed with the 3-ways). I dont see any reason not to, but maybe im missing something.
  23. forgot to mention i'm only usin 3/4", but thanks im hoping it'll work for me
  24. anyone? just need to know what you guys do to mount your subs... oh yeah, any idea how much a bl 18 weighs?
  25. I'm just looking for a loud daily driver, no termlabs or competitions for me, at least not for now. Thanks to everyone for their replies it helps a lot.
