ZED news update
If you can tell the difference between an AB and a D class amp that have identical THD numbers and power ratings, I've got oceanfront property in Montana that I'd love to sell you. Comes with free $50,000 dollar RCA's. All smart-assed comments aside, I hope they continue Stephen's legacy of making amazing amplifiers for the money. Kef

Incriminator Shirts
Wouldn't be able to do a 2x, would you? I can fit an XL, but I'd rather have the 2 just in case the washer/dryer shrink it a bit. Kef

Incriminator Audio 187 15" Review
Well, I think I have ample time into this sub now, and I've been promising this review, so here it goes. First off, car and other equipment. Car is a Dodge Neon ES, headunit is a Sony GT330, front speakers are Powerbass 2xl-6.5's powered off the h/u, the sub is powered off of a Kicker KX400.1 at 2 ohm in 2.0 net sealed. Crossed at 90 hertz @ 12db per octave (only to help the coax's until I can amp them). Some quick pics: The most important part, the box: The cone and dustcap of the moofer: Height comparison next to a Pepsi 2 liter bottle: Coil venting, which I was not expecting on an entry level driver: Ass shot: The mini review: First thing I noticed listening to this sub is it's louder than my old Kicker Comp, which it should be, since I'm giving it over 2x the power. Second thing I noticed is it really likes lower material, like sub-40 hertz region. Anything above and it seems to struggle on some notes a WEEEEEEE little bit, might just be my box. Third, it's very accurate for an entry level driver in the chitty enclosure I have. Some of the stuff I listen to is very well recorded, and it reproduced most all of it close to perfectly save for the small hiccups as I noted. First real song I listened to was Muse- Knights Of Cydonia. If you've never heard the song before, or haven't heard a good copy on a good sub, the beginning has some drop notes in the intro that will shake your car hard. This sub reproduced it so well that it surprised even me. I thought my Comp did an admirable job of reproducing it, but the IA is 100x better. Second was Kerli- Walking On Air. Really creepy girl, really creepy video, kinda pop meets electronic song. Very low and loud information in this one, and again, the IA kept up just fine. Rearview mirror hates this song smile.gif Third was Rascal Flatts- What Hurts The Most. Gets really low for a country song, but has nice note shifts in it. Only complaint is the upper end, and I think it's just my box. Fourth was T.I.- What You Know About That. Great note shifts and low information in it. Played flawlessly on this one. Loud, low when it needed to be low, and switched between the notes with ease, didn't hang itself up on any of them, unlike the Comp. Fifth was Fear Factory- Damaged. Very quick kick drums that are well recorded. Had good accuracy on them, and played them with a good bit of authority. Not the Raymond Herrera authority of a concert, but still respectable. Overall, so far that is, I'm QUITE satisfied with my purchase, and I personally think that it's unbeatable in the entry level price range. I'm going to do some more listening here in the next couple days and will add some songs and reviews of them. I didn't have all the songs on my Ipod that I wanted to sad.gif Nick, you got a customer for life man, I'll be buying again. Kef

IA 187 15" Review
No, thanks for the amazing entry level subwoofer. I need to update all my songs on ITunes today so I can review some other songs. Listened to Tech N9ne- Misery today, sickening. And on that note, Will Penn and I are going to get dimensions soon of the trunk and then build a ported enclosure for it. Nick, think 30hz is too low of a tuning for it for daily? I want it loud, but I want to keep the low end on it. Kef

Lethal Injection 15 review
Indeed, nice review. Only thing I can gripe about is WHY did you port those w6's? It's not like you were going to get a ton of output no matter which way you went, and they sound 100000x better sealed. Just my .02. Kef

Ordered my 187...
You know, I haven't let many people know what I got, and I've impressed several people, and pissed off a couple others I know this much, I'm going to have to invest in some deadener, the rear deck is being abused And I also noticed, I get some dimming now, since I'm stressing the electrical a little bit more than I was before. Doesn't help that the terminals of the battery are about junk in the Neons. I'm going to have to replace those soon. Review coming tomorrow, I'm tired. Kef

Ordered my 187...
Pics, as promised: The box, which we all know is the most important part. The front of the moofer, for the oblivious. A comparo of a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi and the height of the moofer. Coil venting, nice touch I wasn't expecting. Of course, an ass shot. The little lady and myself had to make a trip to Wallie World, so we got to listen to her Ipod, which is ALMOST as random as mine, not as much metal and classical, a little bit more R&B and Rap. I can tell you from the limited time I've had to listen to it, it gets low, it gets loud, and it sounds good. All from a decent sized sealed enclosure. I don't think that I will be changing subs in the Neon for a long, long, long time. Matter of fact, I'm leaning towards an LI or something along those lines for her 99 Mustang Convertible that she just recently bought. More coming tomorrow night when I get home from work, around 10 PM EST, will try and listen to enough to make a full Review thread. Kef

Ordered my 187...
Okay, all I will say for the moment is it came in, I got pics, and got to listen to it for about 30 seconds. HUGE props to Nick, this thing is beast man. Absolute BEAST. More to come later. Sorry for the tease, but I literally just got it in and haven't even heard a whole song yet. I'll update later if I can, if not, I'll update after I get home from work (since I get to listen to my stereo during my breaks at work ) Kef

Ordered my 187...
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=33 The new w0v2 is rated for 300 RMS, which is what IA rates the 187, and is rated for 11.4mm one way v.s. 9.5 for the w1v2. Excursion isn't the whole story of a subwoofer, either. You can have all the throw in the world, but without control, it's just a fart cannon. And I know the price difference will be great, considering that the local shop charges retail on most of their stuff, but I want to do it just as a service to myself and to the people online who are looking towards buying an entry level driver. I want to be able to point people towards IA's products as an alternative, since JL is quite pricey for meh performance. Yes, they make good product, but so does IA, and for less money. But personally, I think the ass looks like a P1 or Pioneer Champion. Kef

Ordered my 187...
Just a little wishful thinking on this, but I'm going to TRY and get our local JL dealer to let me audition a 15w0v2 when it comes into the store, so I'll have a head-to-head against the 187. He said he'd think about it Now if the 187 will just get here, I'll be able to get my listening started and get a first round review up. Anyone else see the w0v2's and think they look like the RF P1's? Kef

Ordered my 187...
No, I asked denim, he said IA is building it and will be sending it. I know I could always turn my gain down, but I already have the sealed enclosure, and I REALLY don't want to wait any longer than I have to to hear it Kef

Ordered my 187...
I drive an orange Neon. With a 15 in it. Do I REALLY need that much more attention? Lol. I as I said before, I might port it if it's not loud enough. However, I think it will be exactly what I'm looking for. It should turn out to sound good (being that it's sealed), get low, get pretty loud off the power I have, and will go well with the coax's that I have up front (Powerbass 2xl's). If it meets those requirements, I'll be happy. If it's not loud enough, there is porting, and trust, I've already got it covered if I have to go that route Kef

Ordered my 187...
It's going into the Neon, Kicker KX400.1, 2.0 net after displacement sealed. I think that output should be good enough for me for now, but I've got enough room that I might port it if it's not loud enough (which I doubt I'll have to do). First one in Zanesville with an IA product, which I'm proud of . I promise, full review when I get it in and listen for a bit. Short list of stuff I'll listen to: Outkast- Speakerboxxx Intro Lil Wyte- Hoods Run Down Fear Factory- Shock Chimaira- Pure Hatred Muse- Knights of Cydonia Amon Amarth- Cry of the Blackbirds The Eagles- Hotel California (live) Pink Floyd- Money Papa Roach- Blood Brothers Rascal Flatts- What Hurts The Most Death Cab For Cutie- I Will Possess Your Heart Georges Bizet- Les Toreadors (Carmen Suite No. 1) Chronic Future- Memories In F Minor I'll make a smaller list when I actually do my review, but those are some of my favorites, especially the Chronic Future song. If you've never heard that on a good sub, go do so. It gets damn low for a rock song Kef

Ordered my 187...
Well, I did it, talked to IA earlier about it, and I pulled the trigger, 187 15", going into the Neon to replace an old single 8 ohm Kicker Comp. Review and pics when it shows up. Kef

Website update?
I just wondered, I figured it was because of all that hard work you guys have been doing, what, with the new products and whatnot. Kef

Website update?
Any word on this? You've got several old pics on there (read: 187's) among other things. Just curious. Kef

2009 187 Series
Yes it would, with ease. 1.4-2 cubes is the recommended sealed enclosure. Thanks!! Probably should have mentioned it was the 15 I was asking about. Oops. Kef

2009 187 Series
Would one of the 187's be able to take 400 daily if it's clean power? If it can, what size sealed enclosure would it need for optimum results? I appreciate it guys, looks like a great sub. Kef

LI 12 - Best Bang for the Buck!
Word. And is the LI efficient (i.e. 400 watts on the 15 ported tuned low in a Cougar enough for a clean daily driver)? Thanks, Kef
