The outer ring that is flat is the top plate that the frame is mounted to. The raised metal with the hole is the pole of the bottom plate. The motor isn't neo on the 187, it is dual 6.5" slugs of ferrite. That is, if I remember the diameter right. Kef

I disagree. Mine came only with the subwoofer, a vinyl sticker, and a sales brochure. There weren't any enclosure specs. That said, I talked to Nick before I bought it to make sure my enclosure would work. I suggest anyone looking at IA to do the same. Kef

As long as you don't clip your signal, they should be okay off of 500 RMS. Check my Death and Autopsy of a 187 to see what happens if you clip it. They do well sealed, I'll tell you that. Mine got pretty damned loud in my Neon. I think the P3 isn't in the same league, I think it'd be better compared to the LI, as they are in the same retail price point. Dollar for dollar, I'd put the P1's against the 187, and the 187 sounds far better. Just my .02. Kef

My friend Will (whom some may know as thegreatestpenn on CA) said my car is pretty damn loud, and that was the 187 with my Kicker KX400.1 on it. He had a pair of Konaki 12's with like 2kw on them. vertex ships, I had my 6.4 shipped no problem when checking out. LIs may just be on shortage right now, who knows. I'll have some eventually on a big ol 20.1 down the road. I live in Ohio though, so he may not be able to ship to me, if IA doesn't allow it. That 20.1/LI combo should be nasty. I am going to run the LI sealed in the enclosure I have, and then port it once we get another vehicle and I can afford to take the whole trunk up. It's going to be powered off of the Power BD500.1, so it should be a pretty nice setup for daily. Ya srsly. I couldn't believe it. Funny part is I didn't even know he had the amp. It was a kid in Lancaster (which is a 30 minute drive from my house) who posted on Craigslist about a Kicker sub for 35 bucks. Turned out that the sub was partially blown, but it was a CVR18 dual 4. I should have bought it to get it reconed, but I passed. But when he told me 25 bucks for that amp, I hooked it up to make sure it worked, and it did without a single hiccup. For 25 bucks, I will not complain at all. Kef

That's sort of what I said. For what it's worth, I pushed it far beyond what any normal person would have. I beat on it for extended periods of time with a clipped signal. Hell, the only time I think it wasn't clipping was at lower volumes. Oh well, time to step up to an LI. Kef

So..... I killed my 187. After almost 2 years of a Kicker KX400.1 (and I'll admit, I clipped it a lot), it finally died. One coil went, and I finished the other off with my new amp.
