  1. lol...right...I just bought and sold one.
  2. On the new TL the best I have done is a 143 with 1200w @ 46Hz. After talking with a few people that also have Cavaliers, the freq to be played is 37-41. This would make sence since I was doing consistant 146's with the Brahma in a lower tuned box on the Lin-X. I have just finished a new PBX box that peaks at 41Hz so we'll see how that does.
  3. After looking at the pics, I recognize the car and the set up from the Grove.
  4. hey

  5. 'bout dam time....
  6. XS15Dv2 Specs: FS: 29Hz, Qms: 3.7, Qes: .38, Qts: .35, Vas: 89.6, Nominal Imp.: 2ohm + 2ohm, SPL 1w/1m: 91.5dB, X-max (one way): 13mm, Pe: 1000w rms / 2000w peak, Freq. Res. 20Hz-500Hz. Physical characteristics: -Triple layer non-pressed Kevlar composite paper cone. -Chrome plated single piece cnc machined back plate and extended pole piece. -Black anodized high temp multilayered aluminum dual voice coils. -High excursion dual oversized black conex linear spiders with woven tinsel leads. -Die-cast aluminum twelve spoke basket with voice coil perimeter aerovents. -UV treated rubber surround. -260oz. Double stacked magnets. Amp used: Cadence A7hc - 1200w rms @ 1ohm SQ / Box used: 3cu' tuned to 28Hz I have been playing around with the sub for the two months now. At first I though the SQ was awful. After using different box designs, and it got broken in, my final conclusion is that for an SPL driver the SQ is not that bad. I have my amp X-over set to 250Hz. The higher tone bass is slightly distorted and laking, but if you want smooth lows it has plenty of room to spare. Another nice thing about this driver is that the extreme lows (>30Hz) can get really loud with out a lot of cone excursion. For this reason, the 1000w rms becomes more like 1500w rms. (Remember the box) SPL / Box used 4.5cu' tuned to 46Hz I figured that there was no way that the PBX could duplicate what my 15" Brahma could do; I was wrong. In this box their numbers are identical. It seemed like there was no bottoming out when I would play low frequency bass songs. The Brahma would never be able to handle this for long play (aprox. 30min.) as the PBX did. I think that the power rating is greatly underrated and that it is a great compitition sub. Over all - 1 through 5 SQ - 4 SPL - 4.5 Top View. (Sorry...big flash) Nice basket shot Along side the Brahma
  7. You could go that route. I have noticed that it is extremely capably of kicking out nice smooth lows at power much over what it's rated for. If you do that, personally, I would still tune it lower. But hey, go ahead and give it a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed either way.
  8. Well, I was pleased with my PBX in my Brahma box; 3cu', 28Hz, ~30sq" port. I'd double that for two of hem. It would be a good start. I had 1200w going to it sound pretty nice.
  9. Yeah, I can tell it has much potential. But I think it's the box that's holding it back. With music, it seems like it's lacking all except for a very small freq. window. When I play a bass CD I can tell that it can do some damage, but you have to purposley give it those notes. Both the PBX and teh B-15 don't have this problem. Could just be 10 years of technology. I have a feeling that it may be going up for sale some time soon.
  10. OK. The box that I used was my daily box; 3cu', 28Hz, 29sq" of port. This is the box I use for my Brahma. I tried to just drop it in but the basket of the Stroker must be like 1/8" larger. Anyhow, after a little trimming it fit. I just now noticed that the thing is 4ohm dvc and not 2. My A7hc only does 600w @ 2ohm. I figured it would make some noise but I didn't plan to expect too much from it. Wow. Was I wrong. after a few minor amp adjustments (turning the gain up to 1/4) that thing pounds. I played a bass CD and it kept up pretty good. Not as well as my Brahma or PBX does, but it holds it's own. I have only played it for a few minutes. I'm going to leave it in for a few days to give it a fair chance. O'yeah, the model, not sure. It's an old one (10 years maybe?). Paper cone and very small, thin surround, single magnet (I'm not that familiar with them, they could all be like this). X-max can't be that much. I was kinda scard that it was just going to fly apart but it didn't. It was enough to make my rear view point down towards my counsel. I'll add to this thread as I go.
  11. As some of you may have read, I traded an Alpine CD player, that I got for free, for a 15" stroker. I'm going to go outside right now and put it in and see what it does with the A7hc pushing it......be back in a little while to let you how it did....
  12. Bottom line: it is her car. She knows what shes looking for and she knows what she wants...and she knows what I can get. Like most females, I'm sure, once her mind is set, it's hard to change....unless she wants to. I guess she really does pay attention to all that rambling I do.
  13. Maybe Tirefryr can send someone over to celebrate with you. :boink: Happy B-day, man.
  14. I should add this to my new Trix-Star energy drink. T-shirts anyone.....$80...you can even pick the color.
  15. I think I'm going to go out to the truck stop and pick up a box of effidrine. Crush them up in some flavored carbonated water. Switch the label and sell them for like $5 a bottle.....
  16. That would be pretty cool. I saw a car here in town that looked exactly like it, light bar up front, rims, the whole nine yards. I didn't get a chance to see the interrior though.
  17. I use.....www.imageshack.us/index.php Have used it for a long time, no limit...yet. Just upload, and copy and paste the link it makes.
  18. Well, I was thing about 1 12 es12ds with that PB75.2 amp, 500w @ 4ohm. The the PB75.4 amp pushing a set of 6.5" comps. in the front and a set of 6.5" coaxils in the back. She wants to save her trunk room as much as possible. That is why I figure a single 12". But now she says that see likes how my B-15/A7hc set up sounds and how loud it gets. She was mentioning going all Diamond. Putting a TDX 12" with their 1200w amp going to it and all Diamond speakers and amps to match. Going with the Diamond would get her a lot louder while saving the trunk room. I asked her about the PBX 15" I have and she says it doesn't have enough SQ (figuring I could to a PBX 12 for her). We're still debating. I know that Diamond is a solid company with products to prove it, but I want to kinda do an all PB car...haven't seen one yet. Seeing that we sell Diamond as well, I can't back out that easily. What ever system see gets she has agree to compete with it next season....good girl.
  19. My wife just got a new car ('04 Sebring) and I am thinking about an all PB system...if we ever get their amps!!!
  20. We might start carring DD...that would be cool. B)
  21. There must be a problem with the posts being doubled also.
  22. I forgot who it was, but I was chatting on AIM with someone and they posted a link from here for me to check out...then it was all over with.
  23. I try to access the forum from the home page and I get a search page. Anyone else have this problem? I have also noticed this on a lot of people's ssaudio.com sig. links.
  24. I wouldn't give it 2000w for daily, yes that is pushing it. It will handle it for a while, but I doubt for daily. I gave 2500w to to one in a 4cu' comp box that peaked at 46Hz and it took it with no problem. I played multiple bass songs and even the low notes it took really well.
