id fire port (L shape like u described) and sub back and use a common chamber... just because it would be easier to build and u can save some space with a port that follows the side. add some bracing if your running some beefy subs... one of the reasons ppl use a center port are to use the port to brace the box as well. edit: use trial and error to find whats loudest in your car, maybe sub up port back will be louder, etc etc...

oh ok, its hard to read those things, the only thing i can think of that would cause u to not be putting out full power (without a defective amp) would be some kinda mix up with the xover settings. have u done any trouble shooting? (ie, turn hu settings off. bypass hu with something like an ipod and a cable that goes from the head phone jack to a rca. replace fuses. turn setting on the amp to max and min postions, lpf to 200, subsonic 10, boost 0, gain max...) ~~~im gona read back thru your post quick to see what i missed what hu are u running?

No where the port starts to curve. I measure from half the width of the port out. interesting, would u say there there is a noticeable difference (by ear or on the meter) with this type of port vs a normal slot or round port?

awesome box!! does the flared (kerf? sp?) end of the port count as actual port length?

maybe its just from the angle u took it at but the lpf looks like its at about 30. if your using the hu, turn the lpf (at the amp) all the way up to 200.

Clarion DXZ785USB, straight usb hook up for the ipod, works great! (they offer an adapter thing but u dont need it, the usb that comes with works fine, charges the ipod and everything...) also has Active processing capabilities if your interested in that kinda thing down the road. i paid 200 for it.... 140$ is a steal IMO! http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11771_...+DXZ785USB.html edit: that adapter made me wonder so i checked the site, there no need for the adapter for this unit, must be a typo on sonicelectronix...

if u have already purchaced the sub what ohm configuration (dvc 2 or 4) did u get? if u havent purchaced the sub, dont buy till u pick out the amp.
