ya this is all too convenient if they close before i can get in. if they go bankrupt i heard they dont have to honor warranties. funny thing is, the CC where i got it done just relocated... im pretty sure that its apart of there install they have to atleast remove it for free. they said they would take a look for free as well. ill set something up asap.

the first battery was is in it when i bought the car about 2 years ago. brand new battery was installed. only happened when i arm the alarm. the only thing ive done to the stereo is remount them on the new rack. its all hooked up just fine. stereo is not staying on. amps do not stay on. here is a post by 4runner that was on my double post... "ok, well in my experience of installing alarms...they do have constant power on them...but they shouldnt pull hardly anything with the alarm armed or not ? If you think its the alarm then it is most assured gone bad. But dont put the blame on the alarm just yet...think back to see if you had anything else done to your car...alternator, amplifier, radio, etc........Problem could be elsewhere....." walmart did there test and alt and starter are fine. any thing i should check specificly?

i had a hornet security system installed in my car, baught and installed at circuit city... its been in almost a year now. last weekend my car sat for 2 days while i was visiting my gf. alarm was armed, no light were left on. battery was dead. i thought it was the cold so i took it to walmart, they tested it and said it could be going bad. my dad bought a new battery and all was fine. like i said i thought it was the cold weather giving it a hard time. so anyways last night i accidentally armed the alarm (not knowing if it was the draining the battery or if previous battery was just dying on its own) and my battery was dead. (armed saturday night and battery was dead Monday morning)... im calling out the alarm on this one. i didn't install myself. didn't really want to mess with it. im still relatively new to this kind of thing. ive called circuit city and ill be taking it up there to have them look at it. (for free) any advice? additional info: -car- 2000 olds intrigue -audio- cheap ass chitty sony deck -front stage- kx250.2 and pg components -sub stage- AA arsenal and kenwood excelon amp -cap- 1.2 farad tsunami -wiring- kicker 4gauge

rated 35x2 or 100x1 at 4ohm but probably makes alittle more. i think ill just wait for a kx or sx series amp. id like to cheap them all matching.

im going active in a month or 2 and i just saw some kicker zx100.2 amps on ubid.com. the bid is closing friday and i think i could get 2 of them for like $15 each (not including shipping). they are factory refurbs. ive purchased a kx250.2 from them previously. my idea is to bridge them to each mid and use my 250.2 for tweets. will this work? might hold off and try for a zx 150.2 or 200.2 next week...

what if you split the rear/midbass and used the amplifiers to bandpass each? is that like the ghetto way? haha

can you do a 2 or 3 way active set up with this equipment? (Alpine CDA-9884, PXA-H100, KTX-H100) im doing a 2way and will try a 3 way down the road so id like to get something that will have the processing for the 3way when im ready crutchfield has that trade in (exchange) system were i can get a gift card for there site. (im going to sell them my sony hu and old ipod for a like $100). the alpine hu is currently $170. im trying to find a better deal on the PXA-H100, $150 is alittle expensive and i think i can do better. the h/u will be new w/ warranty. so im going either this route or that clarion h/u. with the mic and everything on this combo it would seem that my first active setup would be alittle easier to tune??? ive found the clarion for alittle under 200 shipped (Clarion DXZ785USB) w/ like a 1 year warranty. so my budget wont be tomuch more... additional info: car: `00 olds intrigue amps: kenwood mono on the sub, kicker kx250.2 and another 2 channel/ 4 channel on the way. front: pg rsd (temp till i have funds for some mli's or AA poly's etc.) sub: AA arsenal 12"

i like the painting idea more. but i got other stuff to send money on haha. the front stage needs alot of help and thats where my focus will be in the next few months. active ftw!

ive never upholstered anything so im alittle hesitant to attempt it. ill have to read up on its alittle before i try it. i think painting the baffle and covering the rest would look cool. idk what materials i would use. i think covering it in a black material and doin the baffle in a white and doing the port white would look sick. it would match the sub too. edit: or the two tone idea with the same color.

i liked it alot too. it was done completely by accident. i cut the original hole to mount the sub to wide and had to add a baffle so my dad came up with the idea to do a nice angle cut with the table saw. i need to pull the sub box out someday and clean it up. flare the port more and paint it up real nice. id like to try covering it but i think ill just do fat black or a texture paint.
