  1. maybe i'm over thinking it.
  2. this makes sense, right? hope i dont set the airbag off. rip
  3. I got a haynes manual which had this diagram i think i see the problem. This doesn't look like bus to me. I just see the ACC in and the data out. Which kind of explains why i was measuring around 12v on data at the stereo harness. I guess i need to track down that ACC under the dash? fuck
  4. pretty sure the red cursor thing shouldn't go right.. is the pac not resistive..
  5. cant get the pac and joycon to communicate correctly.. ugh
  6. watts are watts. get what ever you like

    iirc 0.5 inch
  8. someone has some shit to sell
  9. nothing wrong with looking at the mainstream stuff if you need to keep it cheap. model up some jl, alpines, etc. maybe they got something that can work better.
  10. that jl amp is fine, nothing wrong with running that kind of power to the sub. if you're going to drop $175 on a new amp than get something like a ppi 1000.1 (or something else that does 1000+w @2ohm) over the alpine. 300w vs 500w wont be audible, while ~1000w would be, assuming the subs can handle it.
  11. only time i hear about driver issues are on older cards from either manufacturer, crossfire/sli, or when the game developer gives preference to one manufacturer or the other. r9's have really great value. could pick up a pair of 290s used and dump them for 800 series when they come out if you go through gear quickly. you can find a 290(x) for 230-250 each http://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap
  12. is the port L shaped? if it doesn't wrap all the way around to the other side of the box it might be ok.
  13. if you need to take an inch off, the port is the worse section to cut.
  14. had the same issue with my old 4890s a couple month back. picked up a single 270x after the script mining dried up. plenty of power for 1080p.
  15. Thanks for the advice. If i vent the kicks into the fender will cutting a hole in the carpet be required as well? or can i assume the carpet is relatively transparent (acoustically).

  17. bmw v10 in a volvo http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/08/volvo-242-bmw-m5-v10-gatebil/
  18. ugh, hit backspace and lost some stuff.. Some questions for you guys. Should i be concerned with stretching vinyl over these kick pods? specifically the transition between mid and tweet. Is horizontal alignment of the tweet and mid something i should avoid? There's a reason why 2way monitors are vertical, right? Lobing at xover frequency? Speaking of alignments/aiming what are some other variations i should try? currently I've aimed each at roughly the location of the headunit in the dash. What should I be listening for exactly when comparing different alignments/aiming (is there a better way to describe this)? Should i target a sealed enclosure volume? should i worry about matched left and right volumes? Quentin's build has my interest peaked in ported, worth trying? I dont think i have the same output requirement he seems to have. thanks for looking guys.
  19. updates started the kicks tried a new technique using full sheets of mat. Trimmed back the excess. Obviously these will be trimmed back much further. Burned through all my dremel disks... should have used a jig saw. Testing out some off axis aiming. Driver side tweeter will have to clear the E-brake and aviod firing straight into my left leg. I tried using plumber's tape to support the speaker rings and allow easy aiming but they cant handle the weight of the speakers. I realized the passenger side tweeter is lower than the driver side. I'll be trying a few different configurations.
  20. Use ifttt.com to setup a "recipe" and it'll search your craigslist with keywords and email / text you when a post meets your Criteria. I used it for finding a place near campus, so within 15min of a new listing came up I knew about it. wow this is cool. looking to buy an xbone sometime soon. You can do a ton of other shit with the site also. Might try searching "ifttt recipes," or "ifttt projects" ya found a few things I might try out.

  22. another ssd is going to fail on you again. if you're sticking with that enclosure than you need to find another sub that can handle what you're asking it to do.
