Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Yes. I use it with my Roku. It is a serious pain in the ass to set up, requires devices to be on the same router, and it is far more limited then I had hoped for. If you have a device like Roku or GoogleTV I suggest you try it with the free app for your computer to link it to your device. Don't pay for your phones or other wi-fi devices until you try it. As far as I am concerned, it is pretty close to worthless. It doesn't like to communicate with my server on my home network. I have to link the server to my laptop to get it to communicate. It is one of the, if not the least used channel on my Roku. My friend who lives two states away uses it and he gave me his password. I can watch any movie he has off my Roku. Plan on watching The Hobbit tonight. thanks, i might try it out sometime

Playing around with some new toys... Training my ears?
i've played around with the 88ex and a set of peerless 3 inchers. the 88 are installed in my brothers sentra. I dont remember too much about the 88s besides that they have a solid top end and I'd favor them over the peerless slightly. i've stepped up to a 3 way in my own car. I've also used the hivi 3" in a small computer setup following zaphaudio's build. They sound great for the price but Im not sure if they would hold up in a car audio environment. the large shielded motor would make it difficult to install as well. if you want to play around with enclosure volume, these speakers tend to fit in 3" pvc. good luck with your testing!

something other than headunit
sure they do, people use them all the time. question is what features do you need? depending on that you can decide which option is best

Whining Sound from Tweeter.
And completely unnecessary. Obviously minimizing the length of both power & ground saves you rish, money and perhaps diameter, but that is it.that guy who installed his amp in the engine bay was on to something!

Help! One 6inch Aero enough for 5 cuft box 2 fi q 12s?
http://www.bitpusher.in/?p=portarea you could do external ports if you need more internal volume. perhaps someone will chime in with a design for you. but if you're doubting your ability to design it yourself and no one has time, i would pay someone to design it. i think a few members do that sort of thing for a small fee.

Weird response from new setup...What am I supposed to learn from this?
i've always found the loudest orientation in a sedan was sub and port back, aim toward the license plate, and the box a few inches from the trunk lid. i haven't tried firing forward and sealing off around the enclosure with the exception of my IB install currently. you would also want to seal the rear deck

Whining Sound from Tweeter.
finding a grounding location for a couple amps within 18" seems pretty unrealistic.
-
Subwoofer voice coil configuration
once you have an amp selected then order subs... how else would you make the decision?

port location?
if you're competing i would assume you'd try out all possible configuration and take measurements to determine which is best.

Running a Sound Qubed Q1-2200D
why don't you try it out first ?

crunch 1500.1
dont really understand whats going on. sounds like an install issue. when using a source like a phone, you need to max its usable signal and then use the hu to control volume.

subs that's made in the USA
I think its pretty obvious why. Not to mention you're on a SSA's forum
-
thinkign of make a big chance in subs
depends how you want to set things up. if you list out everything you've installed including xover points and so forth maybe we could identify what is causing the issue. it could be that your have a large bump in frequency response below 60hz which is causing the perception that bass if falling off above that point. what could fix that is designing a new box with a flatter freq. response.
