Fi Q issue
speaker's with a shifted motor/ rubbing coil will make a popping noise. if you push up and down on the cone does the coil rub on anything? look around the magnets for cracks. also, was the shipping box damaged in anyway when you received it?

Fi Q issue
as i suggested, rest your hand on the dust cap as the sub is making the noise to see if the rattle/popping goes away.

Fi Q issue
its a sealed box so he really shouldn't need one. unless he's throwing a lot of power at it

Fi Q issue
that sub enclosure has a divider right?

Fi Q issue
whiling playing music rest your hand carefully on the dusk cap to see if the rattling stops. sounds like it might be loose. playing a sub over 100 hz isn't the issue at all. certainly isn't causing the symptom . check the box for leaks at joints or around the sub cutout as well.

Just got my SA-6.5CS components
start out around 80hz, understand that the marking on the amp isn't precise so listen for distortion, etc.

The alien thing has been just funny to me. I haven't played more than a couple hours. Work is killing me. it opens up a bit when the heists start. if you're not enjoying some of the side mission stick with the main story line. you can also avoid some driving by calling a taxi.

golf is definitely a fall sport, very nice time of year here in PA. Strangely enough, I've always had more fun walking rather than riding a cart.

why buy new when used will doAbsolutely. Just wondering if clubs make for nuance that is subtle and a set of $300 lowballed cheepos will do, or if sniping great deals and building a set of 1000 bucks in clubs would make that game more enjoyable. If you have a couple friends that play try out what they got first. if they spend money like most golfers do they probably have a extra set sitting around as well. only real differences in clubs that I've noticed are shaft material for irons and various putter designs. personally, I like metal shafts for my irons.

m5 thinks you have a bad ground which is causing weak signal. a barrier would be mlv, check out sounddeadenershowdown.com, great resource for deadening. given your gain and volume settings you either have a fucked install or you system isn't capable of producing enough output. again, you dont understand how the gain on the amp works. http://www.bcae1.com/gaincon2.htm

Fi X rms power question
good subs but I wouldn't pay retail. personally, i would pass on new gear, if at all possible, and budget in some sound deadening.
-
Fi X rms power question
geez, that's pretty bad. must be desperate for a sale. obviously the gain on the sub amp can be lowered so that wouldn't happen. additionally, EQ could be applied to flatten the frequency response.

depends what your goals are

Fi X rms power question
seems like you're being told a lot of bad information. ported enclosures can sound just fine when they're designed built correctly, additionally they're more efficient. if you're still planning to go sealed and concerned with output (if you decide to use the small 2 channel) then choose the largest sub that you can. it's good to hear you're only running a front stage, i would use that 2 channel to power them if you decide to get the diamond amp for the sub.
-
Fi X rms power question
no that doesn't make any sense. put some head phones on and turn the volume up and down. they should sound the same, just quieter. assuming you're not turning the volume up so loud that the speaker cant handle it or the signal is distorted.
-
Fi X rms power question
power is power, you wouldn't be able to hear a difference between those amps assuming they're output is the same

Fi X rms power question
you dont need to max out the subwoofer so that it performs well. think about it, does a speaker sounds bad when you turn the volume down? be sure to order the dual 2 ohm coil and wire them in series for a 4ohm load at the amp.

line driver?
sounds like a sound deadening issue
