i just got my bl yesterday, brokerage was 65$ :s. i was just wondering how do i know if my bl has the cooling option on it. i thought the magnet was supposed to have a hole through it when it had cooling, but mine does'nt. is this bad or am i just misinformed? thx-phil

try removing your spare tire with the board that covers, it should fit. if not you can try removing the plastic cover around the trunk hinge, if it still won't fit you can get some vise grips and bend the metal under that plastic moulding that forms your trunk...if your willing that is.

alright so i decided i'm going to build my box sometime this week. i'm having a hard time using box calculators and i don't quite trust my results for some reason. the box is going to get crammed into my 98 corolla. i made a replica box out of cardboard and the box has to be 17" heigh, 20" deep and as wide as needed. the sub is a fully loaded bl 15 and i would like the box to be 4cubic feet tuned at 30hz. can anyone please help me? -phil

sorry forgot to meantion that the box will be ported and i'm still debating between 30-32 hz for the tuning. i got my sundown saz1500d, basically what i would like to know is: what size should i build my box to get the most out of the sub with the amp that i have?

hey guys, so i'm getting a bl 15 hopefully soon. i was just reading a tread where someone meantioned that if you have a bigger enclosure reduces power handling. would i be ok giving 1500rms to a bl15 in a 4cubic foot enclosure or would i be better off reducing the enclosure size to around 3-3.5 cubic feet for better power handling? thx-phil

when i went to the knukonceptz site they make you choose the fuse size. fuses blow when they take too much power so i guess i made the assumption that fuse size was dependant on the power of my system. since i'm going for 1/0 gauge you think 300amp fuse should do the trick or should i go 250amp or even 200?

i don't know why it's here, i could have sworn i posted it in the amp/hu/electronic section...weird!

what type of fuse should i use for the amp to battery power wire (in an inline fuse holder from knuknoceptz). if this helps...the wire is 1/0 gauge, the amp is an saz 1500d, sub is going to be a bl15.

yes, but that`s not the point. i`m trying to firgure out if the btl would be noticably louder than a bl when put in the same enclosure as the bl. i know for sure it`s louder or else there would be no point in the btl line, but i guess i`m just trying to get a mental image of how loud. i guess i`m a little confused because everytime someone pops on the forums and says they have say 2000 watts to give a sub and ask if they should get either 2 bl`s/q`s/ssd`s or 1 btl everyone always goes for cone area as the winner.

Say I made a 4 cubic foot box put a BL15 inside with 1500watts rms, then used the same box popped in a BTL15 in the same box with 3000watts rms. Would the BTL be much louder. I'm a little confused to how much watts make a difference in car audio, everytime someone asks if they should go for 1 powerful sub, or 2 less powered subs, people always vote for the 2 subs due to cone area. Would the btl make you feel and hear noticably more bass then the bl with my given senario?

hey guys, i purchased a bl 15 a while ago and now im starting to measure my trunk to see how big of box i can fit. i made an exact replica out of cardboard a box thats was a little bigger than 4 cubic feet and 17 inches high. when i tried to put it in my trunk (corolla 98 is the car) the box was rubbing a tiny little bit height wise while it was about 75% in. i was wondering if its possible to make the box 16.5 inches high instead of 17 without sacrificing speaker output. sorry it's a bit complicated to explain!

try doing the "big 3" if you hav'nt already.

personally i would go a little over budget and get 2 15 or 18 inch subs of your choice. but thats coming from a guy who has an ego problem and an addictive personality. you infinty probably has a nice fat alternator running in there, should'nt be all that bad electrical wise if you run 2 subs assuming your not going full gain all the time. as for the amp get a refurb kicker or go to db-r.com, he sells refurb amps for a great price and comes with a one year warranty.

i made the assumption that you got ssd'd with some options which would put you near or over your 500$ budget. poeple hate against the hifonics brutus series because apparently they dont do anything near rated power.say they say they do like 1500 at 1 ohm people actually tested them at like 1300rms which is a piss off (rms figure were just an example), others say they are really unreliable and break all the time. if you got some walmart subwoofer i would recommend a budget amp like hifonics. but your planning to buy some really good subs so just do yourself a favor and save up and buy a good brand amp like sundown, kicker etc... it's like wearing a versace suit with sneakers...you'll just end up looking like a jack@ss.

first stick to choosing your sub and amount of trunk space your willing to sacrifice (box size or type), then worry about your amp, then worry about how your going to power all that (over 1500 rms start worrying about getting an extra battery or h/o alternator, depending on your stock alt.), THEN you can start thinking about your speakers. Or you can worry about speakers first but your sort of in the wrong forum to discuss that. For starters, you say you listen to rap and want to turn heads so I think you should stick to the bl. Now go measure the dimensions of your trunk and we can work on how big of a sub to put back there (your sub budget cant' get your 2 subs).

People on these forums including myself would be glad to help you but your questions are too open ended. If you just want someone to recommend a good speaker to you, chances are it will be way over your budget. Try stating your overall budget for your sub then your amp, then state your goals (competition, daily driver, listen to rap, listen to opera....). And no I don't think that amp would do justice to any of fi's subs.
