  1. you would hit a total of 0 db's and i think many people would rate your system 0 on 10 because you dont have a box and a subs output is very dependant on it's enclosure. ok, ok maybe you would hit like 3 db's but you get the point!

your right. let me re-phrase that. im not really experienced in wiring audio systems and was'nt sure if i wanted to wire my sub at 2 ohms or 1 ohm so i got the universal option. i believe the universal option is free and lets you easily switch between 1 ohm and 2 ohm wiring. as earthman stated d2 can be reversed to 1 ohm, but like i said im not really experienced with wiring so i did'nt know at the time. i would appreciate it next time if you correct me and not mock me, especially since you have the title as a moderator and this is a forum to help people.

honestly, i just got it cause i did'nt want to worry about wiring...besides, it's free!
  4. i hope your not expecting an answer other than sundown in these forums.
  5. gas is about 1.40$ a litre here in canada, dont ask me how much that is per gallon. all you need to know is that it's a lot of money and i refuse to go hybrid. ps: i wonder if someone with a hybrid would be able to hook up a big ass sound system to their battery recharging system without upgrading their electrical...thats pretty sick if you could...
  6. i find it funny how workout newbies come up to me and tell me that they can bench 50 extra pounds on the bench press when on a creatine cycle. then i screw them up mentally by saying creatine is supposed to help you do like 1-2 extra reps on your last set and there`s no way creatine made him lift 50 extra pounds in a complete exercise. i think many people lack confidence when working out and are intimidated by their weights. creatine gives people that confidence to lift more because it`s such a taboo product that many people seem mix up as being a steroid.
  7. a good proven effrective stack that i use is creatine, glutamine protein and multi vitamines. i don`t like to stay on creatine too long though i actually feel tired in work outs when i use it too long and i get indigestion.
  8. i hear ya. i did`nt get my sub yet so i can`t really comment on the sounding part of the bl. i just think it`s hilarious when people say ``i have a q it sounds great, my friend has a bl it does`nt sound as good``. then BOOM all of a sudden something from the heavens strikes them and they make the assumption the q is better than the bl, totally ignoring factors like box size, amp used, wiring, not to mention the actual airspace in the vehicle the speaker is being used in...until some sort of scientific double blind study is made comparing these two subs (which are nothing alike), i would suggest people use fi`s product description as a guideline into which sub they should purchase for his/ her needs and not use peoples` biased opinions or crappy low-res youtube videos as a judgement call. if one subwoofer could do sq AND spl better than all the other subs, trust me fi would would just have 1 sub for sale and would save a sh*t load on material costs. not to mention they would be billionaires and everyone in the world would buy nothing but fi subs, but until that sub is made they gotta break it down into categories for us.

get cooling, flatwind coil dual 2 and universal
  10. hey guys one of my buddies says a nice cheap effective meathod for sound deadening is resisto found in roofing sections in homehardware stores... apparently its not as good as the top dynamat or raammat but he says its pretty much the same stuff as fatmat which is cement based (not Butyl). can anyone confirm? i would be real interested to use this stuff (if it works) on my trunk lid and a bit of the back of my trunk to stop trunk raddling. thx -phil
  11. a little biased since my family owns a bmw dealer ship but bmw's e46 m3 set a record for most hp per litre. 3.2 litre inline 6, 333 hp (343 in europe) naturally aspirated...but as we all know hp is just a number, a nice inclining torque curve is what you want yaddda yadda yadda...still impressive though!
  12. cadillac by trae (screwed and chopped), shine cause i grind by crime mobb ft mike jones will shake your sh*t up.

all depends what your goals are...but assuming you want to play it daily with more than 1000rms, it is recommended that you at the least get the cooling option. honestly i would just get the thing fully loaded, nothing would be worse than trying to save 50$ on options then wanting to give the sub more power and not being able to...
  14. kicker zx1500 some people seem to like the hifonixs amps. im personally getting a soundstream pca2000d for my bl 15. all depends on your goals...
  15. oh ok, i did'nt seem to get any of the emails....but i'm glad to at least hear some news of where the sub is even if it is still being shipped. and ya....us to canada shipping sucks big time. thanks for the update, thats all i wanted to hear. thx- phil
  16. hi know everyone from fi is pretty busy with the new btl line but i ordered a bl 15 about a month ago (april 19) and i still no ups tracking email or sub by mail. i emailed nick a couple times in a row but received no answer. i just want to know if the sub has been sent out or not because it says in the forums that you're supposed to receive a tracking number when the sub is shipped. email is [email protected] if you want to reach me. any news at all would be nice. thx - phil
  17. i have the same goals as you and i went for a bl 15. if you read the description of the fi q series, they kind of make it seem that the q is made to hit lower than the bl... i dont really care tho i just want something that shakes things up with my screwed and chopped music and can take 1500 rms without weiging down my car too much cause i like to race alot, so the bl series fit perfect for me.
  18. pfft....everyone knows the egg came first...
  19. almost thought you were serious there...
  20. thanks for the input guys! i was kind of hesitant to use one of those premade plastic terminals cause they are all made pretty thin...and when you make a box with double mdf and then theres a small dinky plastic terminal, it kind of breaks the whole concept imo.
  21. one of my buddies is running 2000watts on his stock alt in a 96 civic (60 amp). no big 3 and also a stock battery. his lights dim like mad when he blasts his subs but other than that it still runs and sounds fine. you should be ok with stock electrical with 800 watts. if you want to do things right though get an alternator, a battery will just delay the time it takes for stereo juice to run out and put more strain on your alt...as a mechanic i would look into getting my hands on an acura alternator at your local scrapyard, you just might be able to fit one on your car since honda and acura are the same. the acura alt will probably put out more amps and won't cost very much if you get one from a scrap yard.
  22. i was browsing the forums and i noticed that someone used what appeared to be regular steel nuts, bolts and washers as a wire terminal to pass wires from the sub through its enclosure (saw it in the pictures of the guy doing a review on a Fi Q 18" sub). i was wondering if anyone could confirm this as being a good method to pass wires through a sub enclosure, or should i just stop being lazy and cut out a small square in my box and put a factory made terminal to pass wires through. im guessing as long as it's a nice thick bolt with zero resistance there should be no drop in wattage. i was just hoping i could get some feedback on using this method. thanks-phil
  23. Same thing with me. I'm approaching one month of paying for my bl15 but still no sub or ups notification or anything. I'm not pissed or anything(yet), I just want to know what's going on with my little fella...Maybe it's just the shipping that is taking forever since Montreal and Las Vegas are quite far apart. Assuming that it's being shipped by truck, that is.
  24. could be something wrong with your tranny sinec it only happens when in drive...could also be something as stupid as a dirty sensor. its nearly impossible to diagnose without looking at the car in person...
