  1. Hello fellow enthusiasts! My name is Jason and I originally signed up to post a reply to a thread that I found on here regarding pxa-h701 compatibility with the alpine iva-w205. But I've found that this forum is really cool, and maybe I will post more often. I am a member over at g35driver.com and I do a lot of research on forums, don't post much but search and read a lot. : D My setup is in a 2006 G35 coupe. My old setup was: Eclipse AVN5500 w/ ipc-106 ipod control and swi-ecl steering wheel interface, DLS UP6 component set in stock locations, DLS RA10 and DLS RA20 amplifiers, two image dynamic IDQ10v2d2. I then changed up to two T1 rockford fosgate power. The amps are under 1/4 inch glass in the trunk and the subs are in a custom MDF box in a constructed false floor. This June I am redoing most of the system. My new system will consist of: Alpine IVA-W205 w/ ipod cable, swi-jack steering wheel interface, pac-tr7 video bypass, pxa-h701 digital processor, Seas Lotus Performance component set (mids in custom kickpanels and tweeter in custom dash/pillar mount), add one DLS RA40, and use a sidemounted fiberglass box w/ one 10" IDQ10v3d2. Also a new amp rack in the spare tire well and remove the false floor which is there now, which takes up a ton of my trunk space. All in all car audio has been a great hobby for me and I look forward to getting to know you guys, sharing what little information I have, and learning a lot. Thanks!
  2. yeah, same here! I had the alpine iva-w205 brand new sitting on my desk, still in box...then I read this thread here, along with the 10 other places Mike posted it at, and I started to get worried. Luckily I was able to talk with my installer shortly after, and he dispelled this myth. My installer is the northern california Rep for DLS, and a rep for Seas Lotus as well so I trust him. Besides the fact that he has done several cars with the exact mentioned setup! I cant wait for my setup! I just got the iva-w205 installed w/ ipod full speed cable, its is leaps and bounds better in terms of ipod control compared to my old eclipse avn5500. In June I will have the pxa-h701 installed, along with blackbird 2, seas lotus performance component set, and some other goodies.
  3. Thats great that you have joined a martial arts school. I don't suggest trying to compete in MMA after just 6 months of training...just work on learning the basics well and building a solid foundation, and definitely your cardiovascular endurance. That is the thing that plagues me the most still. I have been doing khmer boxing (very similar to muay thai) and Judo for the last six months, and have progressed quite nicely. However, I could definitely still use some cardiovascular endurance. Boxing and wrestling is 10 times harder than it looks! After two three minute rounds of boxing I am done in. Judo I can last about four to five 3 minute rounds before feeling exhausted. Oh, we were talking about personal fitness goals? : D I am 6"1, my weight fluctuates between 180-190, I think I'm at around 12-13% bf. (last time I checked I was at 12) I wouldn't mind losing more bodyfat, (who wouldnt right?) but as stated above I really want to increase my cardiovascular endurance. I run 3 miles two to three times a week, and lift weights once or twice a week. Also do Judo 3 times a week and box on weekends, so I get many workouts done. I am very strict in dieting, I eat six times a day, almost all proteins and good fats (mostly raw nuts). I guess my ultimate goal is to be very healthy and never feel my pants get tight like they used to. Thats when I know I have been slacking hardcore. : ) Great goals everyone, and keep up the hard work!
  4. Mike, You've posted this same thing in about ten different places. Did you ever stop and think for a second that it might be one of your parts is defective (not just the iva, but the processor, blackbird, etc.) or more than likely (as in 95% of all problems like this) your installation was not done correctly? My installer has personally done about 4 of these setups (IVA-W205 w/ PXA-H701, w/ blackbird 2 and ipod) and everything worked fine. That is why the Alpine techs never heard of it when you first mentioned it, because there is no such problem! I dont know what the deal is with that ghetto rig they explained to you, but have a competent professional look over the installation and maybe send all parts in for inspection before posting stuff like you did. Now, many people probably think you cannot use an iva-w205/pxa-h701 combo w/ either ipod or blackbird 2, which is plain false. Many others have reported using these combinations with no problems as well.
