  1. RCA ends touching each other or touching another metal surface can cause the static issue you mentioned with your Alpine amp. Make sure you tape your RCA ends.
  2. Disconnect the RCA's from the amplifier (with the radio off) and plug an iPod or something similar directly into the amplifier using a mini to RCA adapter and see what happens. For the turn off pop try disconnecting the remote wire from the amplifier. Using a short jumper wire manual turn the amp on and off by jumping the batt(+) term to the remote term. If this fixes the problem throwing a relay on the remote lead may help. Turn off pop and alternator whine is typically caused from a wiring issue. Where did you ground the amplifiers? Where did you run the audio and power cables? Do you have any loops in your RCA's? I see you are running a Pioneer HU. You may have blown the internal micro fuse. Have you ever disconnected the RCA's with the radio on? Try grounding the RCA's and see if that helps with the alternator whine.
  3. There is only one way to find out...
  4. Thanks... I am from the Midwest. North Dakota boy I am...
  5. An alternator to Chassis (-) Cable would hurt either. Running 0 gauge from the main battery to the HC800 for both positive and negative will also help.
  6. That is like watching porn stars in snowmobile suits.
  7. I was in this boat again last week, it isn't much for imaging but the system is loud and clean. One thing I have always hated about boat installs is the use of coaxials. You would see wakeboard boats with eight 4-way 6x9's just screaming. Systems like that sound like ass an give me a headache. We used CDT components in this boat and there is no comparison. The mids and highs are clean and smooth. The RE subs are running off the 1500D at 1 ohm so there is plenty of power there. I was worried about the bass being lost since the subs are firing into open air but the bass sounds nice. The subs hit hard and the bass is clean. Better than I expected.
  8. Sweet! You gonna hook us up with some pics or what?
  9. The 100.2 is more power but the 100.4 has more control. How do you plan on crossing these over?
  10. Sorry if you're losing money, but half of the problem is the markup of the brick and mortar businesses. I try to support small businesses rather than online whenever I can. I went to the local shop to get a price quote on the Autopage RS-1000, and it was 800$ retail + 200$ install. I looked online and found it for 205$. It's one thing to pay a few extra dollars to have warranty, and customer service. It's another to pay 4-5X internet cost to have this. If money grew on trees and everyone had plenty of it, more people probably would. But considering the state of the economy, you're stupid to go to a retail shop and pay retail when you can find the same thing online for usually half the price. PS. I did go ahead and pay 1500$ for a head unit from a local shop to let them make some commission, even though I found the same unit online for 1000$ with warranty. But I went and bought everything else online, and they were happy I bought the headunit through them. So I'm not a total prude, it's just hard right now considering the state of the economy not to price shop for the best deal. I hear ya. Even most brick and mortar locations are chit these days... All about markup and not about the customer. I have nothing against buying online. I just recommend buying quality products from people who know what they are selling rather than buying whored out crap from money launderers.
  11. Sundown also has a 100 watt amp.
  12. What if I told you the SD-1's get just as loud as your BM's? Seriously?? Dayum, I wish I woulda stocked up on them when they were for the cheap!! I coulda made a killing! Haha. That was a "what if" but they are a good sub.
  13. It is in the Sundown manual that you should beef up your suspension when adding Sundown amplifiers or things of this nature can and will happen.
  14. What if I told you the SD-1's get just as loud as your BM's?
  15. What do you mean, not sure? Masonite has been used in the industry for years.
  16. The buying of equipment from unauthorized dealers has killed this industry. I don't recommend products that are whored out and you should always buy from a company that will back their products up, take care of you and answer any and all of your questions. Technical, install, etc...
  17. Thanks. I kept the install simple and clean. My customer needed his truck so I only had two days to do the install. LOL! I was going to compliment you on your skills, but the "only had 2 days" comment makes me want to yell "showoff!". Nah, great looking install dude. I wish I could do that in a week, or at all lol. That custom chit is amazing and I want to learn how to do it bad. I have a friend with a truck that has no door panels and no place for speakers, it's real weird. And the only way to put them in there is to custom build something for them to sit in, which of course I don't know how to do. So he has to go pay someone bookoo dollars to set him up a system and he's a broke mojo! I like how you set the amps up too, pretty sweet. Thanks... Well, it was more like two days and a couple hours. This is really basic work here. Masonite works great in applications like this.
  18. Cool. I haven't tested the 1200D but the 100.2 is awesome. It has to produce about 500 RMS bridged. I know there have been a few bad remotes but both are bad? Damn.. Jacob should chime in by Monday.
  19. Good call Big...
  20. Disconnect the bass knob from the 1200D and see if the power increases.. Skip the knobs for now. The receipt is their responsibility.
  21. So in short the SD-1's short life span was do to the SSA bassheads?
  22. I would go with RE SR15's over both the P3's and the Alpines in that price category.
  23. Is that using the popcorn test? Those subs are suffocating in that enclosure.
  24. You need to build a "real" box. The 12's are pretty fast and tight in 0.9 ft^3 but they play much lower in 1.25ft^3 in my experience.
  25. I like these subs and they were tough to beat for the price. (Light, Loud, Clean, Effecient) I didn't have ONE unhappy SD-1 customer. What was everyone's opinion on these subs? Look. An unofficial 130dB off a "100" watt amp. Enclosure by James Taylor.
