  1. as for me i think a lot more in the short term (thats prob. why i'm broke). with 100k i would buy me a green suit. and take all my friends and family to some where nice, like a island with white sand and blue waters, have a huge party on the beach at night with a DJ and all that fun stuff. the reason behind that is no matter what you use the money for you'll always have regrets and my regret would be one to put a smile on my face very time i think of it. plus i will always have the green suit as a object to go with the memory. and besides the worlds going to end in 2012 So people say hahha
  2. Thank you all for your help And yes the ground was getting way to hot heating up the carpet and causing smoke to rise. For the ground, make sure you find the frame. Just use a bolt with washers, nuts, and maybe a star washer for extra bite into the metal. Clean the metal, sand it down, throw tons of dialectric grease on there and then secure your ground. Hit it with some underbody coating to keep the moisture and junk out. okay... i'm waiting for a friend to bring a good set of crimpers over. i got the underbody stuff, the dielectic grease, bolt, terminal ring connectors, and washers. so let me get this right. i found a place to put the ground cable so i sand it down to bare metal. drill hole, put grease on? screw in bolt with washer between ring terminal and bolt head? then use the undercoat all over it.... right?
  3. i got 2 pheonix gold Ryvals 1000w each. amps are great. no problems in that part. i just do not want to keep the ground being crappy and something horribly wrong happen. "anything worth doing is worth doing right". hmm... i guess i could use this 1 gauge for the alt.... also how do you tap into the frame? meaning what kind of connection (Lug Ring? Bolt? or what?)
  4. Well on my way to class i smelt something odd... thought it was the dump i was driving past. i pull in to CSN and i see smoke go by my face... so i turn around and my whole trunk is in smoke.... now aparently my ground was bad (pops said too much current). ran 2 amps into 1 ground, just tapped into one amp ground to get them both going (Ground was VERY HOT when the smoke appeared). So i went to Lowes and picked up some 1 gauge and it dont fit in my amp terminal. so i grabed some 2 gauge... FITS... yet the wire is VERY stiff and i cannot find any Ring Lug Connections for 2 gauge so i grabed some bolt connector things.... yet it does not give me a secure connection and i wind up just pulling the cable out with little effort. SO my question to you is what is the most effecent way to gain a GREAT ground? Should i just continue my search for Lug Rings in town/ Order them online? or can i do something with having a remote battery set in my trunk...?
  5. so heres the deal. 2 SSAicon 12's . 2 Phoenix Gold V1502's. i'm not 100% sure but it seems like a 1.5 (i think) 2 12 sealed box. the amount of power the SSA's are amazing. anyways so i have a 98 malibu (folding back seats) right now i have the subs facing the back. i'm sick of having the box sliding around and afraid of damage so i'm going to put some L brackets to brace it. but first should i have the subs facing the back or should they be facing the front?

Hello, i'm from las vegas and new to this forum. i'm fairly new to the whole car stereo stuff. by fairly i've not really got all the way in untill i got my SSA ICONs. i had a pair of Audiobahn AW 1251T. with a BOSS PD4000w amp, it didnt sound bad. i'm still surprised that i got that much sound of of them, Sold them then i UPGRADED to a pair of Fi's. not sure what kind i had but then i got a pair of SSA ICONs. at first i used a single Pheniox Gold Ryval 1000watt amp. it was clean. but then i decided to go with 2 of those amps bridged to get max power. so right now i'm sitting on a sealed box with 2 SSA ICON 12's powered by 2 Phoenix Gold v1502. and all this is sitting in a mid sized car. i'm looking at building a ported box and adding another v1502 powering 2 10inch RE's. trying to get the most info i can about tuning, box building, alternators, batteries, electrical systems i guess, as well as anything else that would make me wiser in car audio. ALSO how deep are the SSA ICON 12's?
  8. Hello, i have 2 SSA ICON 12's powered by two Phoenix gold ryvals 1000watts each. each sub with their own amp. so i keep blowing the fuse and my fuse holder is now melted. so it got me thinking about taking out the inline fuse completely. good or bad?
