  1. If they are sent the same frequencies, there shouldn't be any cancellation, just different response curves. It should perform well, Alan Dante is using a combination of 18" and 12" woofers in his new SPL vehicle doing 180+.

They each have their strong points, BF3 is more realistic, yes.

Me leg, to be done in an ankle to knee sock:
  4. Taking away port area, if it is already near perfect, is not beneficial.
  5. Fi recommends 4.5-8 cubic feet, do you know more about Fi subwoofers than Fi does? Are they doing something wrong? Damn you need to be on the payroll.

I started driving at 14.5, it's important to teach children the rules of the road at a young age, I had my license at 16 and have never been in an at-fault accident.

I went to school with the guy that shot the White House, what an idiot

    Well then, build a horn!
  9. Then just go to sonicelectronix and read reviews on 6.5 comps and pick a set? x2, your asking a site where 99% of people actually put amps on their interior speakers Lol!
  10. Cone area should win there.
  11. .7 ohms DCR? You'll never see impedance that low.

You act like you know, spill the beans Mr. Fi Expert
  13. 17 sq ft of port? fuck thats a huge port. Did you miss the slash? 17"/sqft = 17 inches per square foot. Which, by the way, is a stupid rule of thumb.
  14. I believe the 18" is a US basket.
  15. Remember, port area is dependent on the displacement capabilities of the woofer being used.
  16. Too little port area ends up performing like a leaky sealed box, which is not a good thing. Power handling increases because efficiency takes a dive, just as a normal sealed alignment would, in this hobby efficiency is extremely important as we normally have electrical system limitations. Power handling is primarily dependent on how large the internal area of the enclosure is, remember that also determines efficiency and possible air displacement. Here is a helpful guide: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31
  17. Then you are correct in your assumptions
  18. A pulp cone will be slightly heavier, increasing moving mass, it should sound "warmer"
  19. Your gain halfway means absolutely nothing.
  20. SQ, for a subwoofer amplifier? Won't matter. If you want SQ the front state is where you want to concentrate.
  21. Yes, inductance changes every time the coil moves.
  22. No, say if the coil was blown, or a lead snapped, there would be no resistance
  23. Impedance, not inductance. You are reading the direct current resistance, a D2 coil is normally about 1.4 ohms per coil, and a D1 is normally 0.7 ohms per coil.
