fi btl
^^ BTL 15's would probably outperform your 18's FYI

Sub examples pls?
hmmm... thanks for that M5/// - care to share also on the 15's? peerless XXLS comes on 12's but no 15's, the W6 and IDQ would only be on 15's if we consider old models... but the SS Rlp i know comes in 15's... checking Seas lotus SW300..... A sealed 12" would be fine as well, just slightly less output. The newer W6 comes in a 13.5" cone and that would be fine also. I'd second the Soundsplinter rL-p 15"

Working on a little something...
How about you invent some amazing new suspension and throw a 3" coil on the X8's to make it mechanically plausible?

The BL is rated at 1500 watts thermal power handling. Just get your gain right.

Enclosure for 12" BTL
You cannot port a BTL. You mean you cannot seal a BTL. Thank you very much. Edited.

Keep up with the bass

Introducing Supergauss
Does the coil has to be extremely long to be able to use all the motor force? How about some T/S parameters?

Audiopipe AQX35001 3500 Watt RMS Amp
How do you think AudioPipe can afford to sell you a "3500 watt" amp for ~$500? I bet they use the absolute best components in their amps and when you buy one it actually COSTS them money! Get real bub.

good match?
That's almost the MAXIMUM airspace for a 15", that would be why. it's more efficient. It really is stupid to put an 18" in 5 cubes, that's the bare minimum and the maximum airspace for a 15", in that alignment the 15" in the better box would outperform the same 18". Oh and FYI, don't look for a subwoofer, or a certain size cone, just because of it's sensitivity. It's one small parameter, not enough to rule out a subwoofer. honestly im not experienced enough to know how the other specs effect a subs performance. Im not super new to all this, but when i read all of the shit some of all u have to say about physics and all that other complicated stuff, id still consider myself a noob. What would u say isn't choking an 18? Too big to fit in a trunk of a grand prix? You can put it in there, but its by far not the smartest option. My personal requirements for an 18" is about 7 cubes, with adequate port area(between 84 and 112 square inches of port) tuned to about 35 Hz. you just can't do that in a trunk. The absolute smallest I would go is 5 cubes and 70-80 square inches of port...and a 15" would outperform the 18" in that same enclosure.

Stetsom Amps.
Bitch slap whoever told you Stetsom amps were the best.

good match?
6 cubes after driver, mdf and port displacement sounds big enough for me A 15" or 2 12's in a good enclosure that's actually large enough will be louder than an 18" being choked in 6 cubes.

Chris' Wall Build in the Aviator vids p.35
Not true. Cancellation is only beneficial to subwoofers because the frequencies are larger wavelength vs. small wavelength(high frequencies).
