  1. Don't do it. Why do you want more tweeter in the first place?
  2. So you have an 8 gauge ground when you need a 1/0 gauge ground?
  3. I've never seen them before.
  4. Dampening simply reduces panels from vibrating.
  5. Because it's one small parameter of the subwoofer, it doesn't really matter when picking a woofer. Look at Digital Designs, the loudest single subwoofer in the world doesn't have a gigillion x-max, it's very small actually. X-max does not equal loud.
  6. Whichever one you put in the better enclosure will be louder.
  7. I tried with the back cover off and couldnt get any output but that was with 8 gauge ground. umm.. i think my ground was fishy so i re did that and my 0gauge wire wasnt long enough so i only had 8gauge. tomorrow i will pick up more 0gauge and then try the 3000d again. idk if pics of my amps guts would help but if so let me know. thanks You had an 8 gauge ground on a 3000 watt amp that requires a 1/0 gauge ground?

That amp is rated for 1200 watts at 1 ohm. You have a dual 2 ohm sub, that would be wired in parallel to create a 1 ohm load on the amp. For the calculations you use the impedance load that sub will put on the amp which is 1 ohm. That comes out to 34.6 volts. Sundown is probably recommending a tad higher at 36 volts due to the fact that the amp could put out a little over 1200 watts with the proper electrical. Also, follow the recommendations that Duran said earlier. Ohhh, gotchya. Forgot that step. So when I'm at 0 bass, and I can't get the 36 volts, can I turn the bass boost up a tad? Or how would I go about doing that. If everything is set flat then you should be able to get the voltage you are looking for. Even with 2 volt preouts. What is the HU volume at? If you do have to turn up the boost, don't turn it any higher than where it was when you set everything up. When listening to it that is. The headunit volume goes a little over half way. If It gets any louder the factory front speakers will get to loud and start to distort. If the front speakers are on the HU adjust it so they don't distort, if they are amped get them with a DMM like you are with your sub, just a 1KHZ tone instead.

    *Cheers*
  10. Is that why there are foam pads on the tops of them?
  11. Duran replied to mrben's topic in General Audio
Bass should be at zero, don't use it. Turn your "loud" function off as well. Set it with a DMM and preferably an oscilloscope. If you wanted output why did you buy a Q?
  12. Of he grounds correctly he won't have a ground loop. Both of my batteries are on their own ground on different parts of the frame. And you don't need to run a ground from front to back. When you do your front battery ground in 2/0, and ground your back batteries to the frame in 2/0 your essentially using your frame rail as your wire run. You can connect all your amps to one battery if you wish, it doesn't matter, they are all connected anyways and you are really just making one BIG battery.

The blue thing isn't mandatory till October though, I'm not sure if I'll still be with the company.

Hell yeah! Gonna get me a weed whacker and some clothes. It's really tough to beat $5 for dress shirts. I should get some dress shirts...since I'm the "Blue Crew" now.
  16. Yes those will work, don't order fuses till you figure out which alternator you'll be using.

Friends and Family night is tomorrow...homemade root beer, grilled hot dogs, and a great day for sales await
  19. That is all the enclosure, the enclosure determines 90% of the sound you hear.
  20. There are 12's that would love that airspace, mine are in 4 cubes a piece. I only have one 12 in at the moment, and people guess I have two 15's.
  21. You could get more from your car with 2 12's, I went that route. I have two 70 lb. batteries in my spare tire well. Powering my SAZ-3000D You don't need 2 runs, just one. You should make it as large as possible...4/0. The welding wire is the same as the "car audio" wire. I have welding wire myself.

Same with me, but my power isn't out...surprisingly!
  23. I would recommend 2 d3100's, that should be enough. As for the alternators, find out at what RPM's do they do rated power. And with the wire, run something between 2 aught and 4 aught wire, fuse with a 300 amp fuse at the front battery, and one more at your first battery in the rear, then just a jumper from battery 1 to battery 2, and ground your batteries both to the frame as you will with your front battery in the big 3.
