  1. Here we go again...10' of 1/0 gauge Kicker hyperflex Heat resistant loom for the wire... 2/0 gauge terminals... I soldered all the terminals, no crimping!
  2. Thank you bigjon! Thanks for the recommendations guys but damn! Go easy on me...I just got out of the shower and I'm headed to get some 1/0 gauge and do my Big 3. Will post pics later tonight.
  3. Whats with all the haters? You guys think I didn't look around? I was set on getting a Flip-up, but with the way my car is it wouldn't work. whats the deal guys? I haven't had ANY problems with it, and I haven't heard of anyone having problems with theirs. I know it's not the best brand out there, but I'm a high school kid with a minimum wage job, bare with me. I was cool at first, with people telling me to get a different HU, but now I'm insulted. Don't come onto my build log and say stuff like that, you can give all the advice you want, but give up on the HU, it is installed and I'm not changing my mind.

    Salutations!
  5. The only reason I got it for free was because I won Car Wars and a $250 gift card at a local shop, so I pretty much just paid sales tax. I'm really liking it so far, the picture is astounding, and the level of available integration is unbelievable. With the Kenwood I used an FM transmitter with my iPod, now my iPod is integrated into the HU, I love it!
  6. That is true, where he is using 1000 watts the inductance will be manageable. But you do need a lot of airspace too, and it is designed for infinite baffle, so good luck with that!
  7. Why not? As long as the inductance is kept reasonable... Well, its possible, but not very practical in my opinion.
  8. Let me get this straight, you want to use an 18" for SQ?
  9. Actually, that Kenwood was in the car before I bought it, and it really sounded like chit. It only has one pair of RCA outputs so I had a four channel and a mono-block hooked up to it with those "Y" splitters, and the Jensen offers superior control over the sound, I don't see why everyone doesn't like Jensen, it was very expensive too, even though I only had to pay $15.
  10. HAHA! I laughed really hard when I read that, I just had to post!
  11. Hi

    Salutations from everyone at SSA!
  12. Well I got paid a few days ago, but I didn't make enough to buy my batteries just yet. I'm going with Stinger, I forget the model numbers(is it just me or is the Stinger website EXTREMELY confusing) but they are comparable to one Kinetik HC1400, and two HC1800's, but they are better! Then shortly I will order the BTL, fully loaded D1, and I'm contemplating having BJ Fisher build me a daily groundpounding box tuned to 30 HZ running off the 3000D at 2 ohm, and me personally build and SPL box tuned to 54 HZ running off the 3000D at .5 Ohms for competitions. I will buy some Kicker Hyperflex 1/0 gauge one of these days and do my Big 3 also...
  13. What are you planning on running those with?
  14. X2. Try your luck on a Sundown.
  15. Wet Sounds makes a 6 channel, its a marine but its a true 1000 watts made by Zapco, so it will run you about $1000
  16. I bypassed me Jensen by grounding it, when you wire it to your parking brake it grounds it so it will play DVD's, so when you ground it to your radio ground the deck thinks the parking brake is on all the time...
  17. Thanks for all the help guys! I think I'm going to keep the stock alt, get lots or 1/0 gauge, and 3 stinger batteries, I don't recall the exact ones, but they are slightly more power than Kinetik HC1800's and one HC1400, and I will get all three for about $450. Depending on how much I get paid today, I might order the BTL or the Stingers, or just get some Hyperflex and do my Big 3 and wait on the BTL and batteries. Thanks for all the input guys! You helped a lot! -Duran
  18. Jacob, do you have a rep in Idaho? If so who is it?
  19. I have the 2008 KS Coax in my car, they sound really, really good. They will get VERY loud, I'm powering them with a Kicker KX350.4, so there is only 90 watts going to them, and they sound very good, they have good midbass too.
  20. 100,000 square feet would work very well too!
  21. Normally, its about 150,000 square feet, it you want just enough! Haha, I have no idea, just cover the while thing
  22. Seems you get as much interest with clothing as with actually audio products. It's cool to have a shirt that represents what you have in your car. I love being a walking billboard! When I get paid on Friday I wanna buy one!

L7's can get really loud, but you can't overpower square subs bo more than about 50 watts, with square subs, the corners are farther away from the center than the sides, and they length difference causes a LOT of cone flex, and what in turn causes mechanical failure, L5's and L7's are notorious for mechanical failure. Trust me, I have destroyed 4 different L7's in my day. They are an expensive sub to replace. Stick with round subs, like the Kicker CVX, which is the round version of the L7 (And the 750.1 is meant for a 12" CVX or 12" L7, the 15" will need the ZX 1000.1). Good luck though! Get Fi, its wayyyy better!
  24. You know...I have an SAZ 3000D sitting in my room right now...*wink wink*
  25. your schools don't have a weight training program? I was small before high school, I'm 5'11" and 190 lbs going into my senior year. Normally the weight training is just for football players and such, but they allow everyone to join in.
