  1. They are lighter, so yes. Tuning near Fs is not a problem, the N2 has slightly less motor force than the Gen 2 BTL, so response is better, they will have a better low end extension. The SMS is also a good option, with the large 4" coil your power won't be a problem, and low end will be phenomenal.
  2. 5 spiders I believe. SG is a completely different motor, designed for different things and should not be compared. The SMD was designed by Fi, they also manufacture it.
  3. It's sad that when he was counting the speakers, he had to use his fingers to add 6 to 17.
  4. I have done nothing to abuse or misuse the setup. so please don't make comments when you don't know. There is one case where I have personally seen an unabused coil break, that was a manufacturer defect. Every other thermal failure I've seen is simply too much power, there is no way around it. I do know what I'm talking about, speakers are stupid, and they do what you tell them to.
  5. 99% of the time burnt coils are user error.
  6. why do you want to tune so high? Do you not like lows? He specified an SPL box.
  7. The one on the left is CLEARLY the Havoc.
  8. Different people... He has a DC sub listed in his sig? EDIT: I guess DC offers the same in the upper levels. My bad, I guess that's what I get for not paying attention to any of these newer brands. DC only has D1, D1.4, and D2 coils for his woofers. Your first thought was correct Brad.
  9. Bob didn't build those! They are SJA (Atomic) built drivers. That explains the bad QC, lol
  10. Sounds like great build quality, and great quality control!
  11. Enlighten me please on "gudieline" Because it does not work 100% of the time, you are lucky if it works half the time. It's a stupid, stupid rule of thumb.
  12. Sure, pick up a few physics books and start reading, you can't just decide you want to design enclosures.
  13. Here is a link to their specs which is all I can find on them. They were suggested by a member on another forum called AudioPhil who said that most SSA Sundown IA FI stuff is "off the shelf garbage" and that these at $180 each are in an entirely different class. I am a big SSA fan myself and was juct curious on others thoughts. EDIT Cant display link because it is on C. A. C. O. But if you do a search you will find the link. Lololololol
  14. thanks man didn't really think to look (I'm to impatient) It took you two hours to get a reply to your question, when you could have found the answer within 5 minutes, a little effort will go a long way.
  15. Insurance will greatly depend on the type of bike you have. Do you have any riding experience?
  16. You are correct, signature size does change with member status.
  17. You don't have a negative rep...
  18. well not right now but it will its goin to have two kinetik 2400's and 2 runs of knukonceptz 0gauge power and ground and a voltage regulater so it will stay at 15.5v all the time That isn't enough power, to make 8,000 watts, even at your absurd 15.5 volts, you need 516 amps of current, that is with 100% efficiency, at 80% efficiency, where most Class-D amplifiers are, you need 645 amps to make the same amount of power, that is also without voltage drop, as voltage drops, amperage must increase to make the same power. That's how you get blown amplifiers. You don't have enough power.
  19. Some people REALLY need to read my post....
  20. Hcca's tend to throw the heat to the basket. I would have this same thing happen to me and get worried but nothing really happened. Just like an mtx 9500 throws the cones heat off to the surround. Theirs some weird subs out there XD I'm still tempted to say it's ambient heat, but I have not done a thermal analysis of either of those woofers.
  21. All those guys would have to be hitting 160's for you to come for them in that class, lol.
