Smallest possible sealed box for Q 18?
Why are you wanting to run sealed? Ive seen your builds so Im not going to get in that arguement just wondering why you'd want to run 6 sealed rather than 4 ported. BTW, its around 4 cubes iirc.

Amplifier/Sub Ohm question
First you can't wire a dual 1 ohm sub to a 1 ohm load. A d1 can only be wired to see a .5 ohm or 2ohms. Also if the amp is the KX series than yes the amp can handle the 1ohm load, but the sub would have to be a d2. yes it is a kx 1200.1 and thank for clarifying the d1 d2 situation will be ordering my 18" d2 to be wired down 2 ohn That makes no sense. If you want a 2 ohm load, buy a D1 sub. If you want a 1 ohm load, buy a D2 sub. You cant have a d2 wired at 2 ohms.

Fi Q Minimum RMS?
"It's not that amazing of an amp" So hilarious!!! That's why this 15-20 year old amp still sells for 1K-1300 on ebay to this day. In good shape , mind you. I dont care what people pay for them. There are MANY, MANY amps that will outperform that one. BTW: It didnt even put out rated power back in 1991. Fails 1/3 power test Only 660 watts

Fi Q Minimum RMS?
Its not that amazing of an amp... Secondly, you asked a dumb question so they gave you a dumb answer. There's no such thing as a minimum requirement for a sub. That said, the Qs will run fine off of 5-600 watts. You'd be better off running a single Q ported rather than two sealed.
-
SAZ-3000D or AQ2200D
The 3k could possibly be too much power for the Qs. Everything Ive seen states with the BP option they're still only around 1200w RMS. You could stick with sundown and run a 2000D.

4 guage for 1150 watts?
You dont NEED to use 0 gauge. However, when wiring, you should try to use the biggest simply because it flows better. You'll be fine with 4 if you dont feel like spending the money.

Which Sub Is Best
Neither.

Different versions of the 18" Nightshade??
Jacob can add some things like direct leads, pole plug, and such, but for the most part, there's not much that gets added. So then the question is why? The answers simple. Jacobs subwoofers are already "fully loaded." His standard product would be top of the line for other subs.

well, its started
Ive got a 7105. Eh, its ok. If I could do it over, I would have went with Pioneer800 or 880 or Alpine9887 just because the extra functions. Havent had one single problem out of my panasonic yet though. I'll probably swap it out in the near future though.

2- SSD 18's in 6.6cu.ft. before displacement???
With that space, you'd have to run sealed and even then, it's probably on the small side. You could however fit two 15s or run one 18. You could also fit three 12s. These are all assuming you go ported.

What are the different types?
Ditto. DBdrag is usually broken into groups based on how many watts you are using. SQ is graded by judges just like the Xgames would be judged iirc.
-
another, help me choose post
You should really look into SSAs line then. You're looking at gear more towards SPL. You want a sub more SQ oriented. Bear in mind, that just bc SQ is what they hoped to achieve, doesnt mean its not going to be loud. My 2 18" Xcons will attest to that.

Ascendant Audio Mayhem 15
You could look at RD Audio. Look at their D9. Also look at Cactus Sounds. They put out a 5k watt amp iirc. American Bass also has a 5k watt amp. Stetsom and Sound Digital also make high powered amps.

eD NINe.1?
The eD nine.1 IS a solid amp. However, their service is complete, utter shit. I think right now they have a sale on the amp for like 125. They did this a while back too. People didnt get their amps for months and they could never get a hold of eD bc eD doesnt answer their phones or reply to emails. Pass on it. Buy from Jacob or buy AQ.

Ascendant Audio Mayhem 15
Wait, what? You're running two 15s in a 12 cubic foot box?

Nice choice on the equipment. I love the Havoc series.

4 15 wardens walled < in action >
That's just nasty.

From: SAZ-3500D / AQ-3500D Side-By-Side
Efficiency. Add that to Jacobs outstanding customer service and its a pretty good deal. That said, I just purchased an AQ3500D from Jacob lol.

Icon bit the dust?
Update: Hooked the sub up to my buddies car and same result. Sub's toast. Looks like a recone will be an order. I can post some pics if anyone wants to see them, but the sub looks damn near brand new. All I can think is that it might be coil rub.
-
Help choosing subs?
None would handle that daily.
-
Icon bit the dust?
Just take your time, and work form the source to the speakers, and cancel out one thing at a time. I'll try throwing the sub on my buddies car tomorrow so I can eliminate that if possible. Will report back tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Icon bit the dust?
Im certain it's not the amp. However, I will try the sub out on my friends amp to ensure its not the sub. The more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards wiring/connections.
-
Icon bit the dust?
I rewired the sub but I could check the rcas as well. It's weird bc it was hooked up for over a year with no problems. I thought it might have been a loose wire but when I checked I didn't see anything. I'll pull out the head unit soon as well. Just gotta troubleshoot it I guess.
