Well thx for the input, ive finally figured out to ask the right ppl before i waste my money on the wrong stuff. Im gonna order some more second skin for the doors and maybe save up for some focal polyglass comps

Just the trunk, only have one sheet left which clearly isnt enough for the doors. Im not super experienced with audio set ups but while switching speakers and changing amps ive heard just the front and just the back speakers seperately with the sub and i do agree the fronts are wayy more important. It just seems like when i have ppl in the back seat and the icon pounding that only front speakers wouldnt be as balanced as having both front and rear (and im planning on a saz2000D w/xcon in the near future). Feel free to enlighten me...

Just got this installed today after i got it in the mail..i didnt realize how big and sexy this thing was. But anyway, i got blown 6x9's and mediocre fusion 6.5 components in the front and i dont want to be wasting this amp. Anybody got suggestions for speakers that would match well with this amp? Somewhere around $250 for components and $150 for rear fill. Ive thought about some lower end focals, type X pro, Infinite perfects, or maybe try the re xxx's. Thx

After getting my icon i cant turn away from ssa. Sounds awesome and pounds so the Xcon has to be the beez knees. Cant wait to finish saving up for one..or two...

didnt want to start a new topic, but what are the shipping options when u buy things? I just ordered the 100.4 with ups but is that any different from the free shipping? And what is the $50 option? It might help to have better descriptions..just a suggestion.

Turbo'd 1st gens are so ridiculous. Ive seen someone swap the full interior and engine/trans from an srt into one. Those cars are just so light it turns them into mini rocketships...mini rocketships that have no chance grippin off the line. Awesome none-the-less.

Oh id love for it to be fast, its just not realistic. Driving my friends srt-4 is insanely fun..i get a boner when i hear the turbo ballin out in 3rd gear. I really like the color, it turns purple in certain light. Electric blue srt-4=sex.

First off my slow ass car...i think im justified in not spending thousands to make it a tad faster. Went from..15" ssd copper coil at 2ohm on an alpine 1000wrms sealed To a larger box with 6" aeroport.. And yesterday came my sundown 1200D + SSA icon D2 running at 1ohm (curtousy of johnecon2001) :bigclap: Im still playing with the settings but man am i satisfied with this combo. Imo the sound quality between the SSD and the Icon are almost identical, but the output from the icon rocks my socks. It hits lows like nobodys business, which the SSD hit um, just not nearly as loud. And that sundown amp stays cool as an ice cube. My hats off to sundown and SSA for these fine products.

My friend made it for me, its got a 6" aeroport. I believe it was tuned to 32hz

I just got my sundown 1200D and tomorrow my icon D2 from johnecon should be here. Any suggestions for subsonic and crossover settings?

I dont think so...my friend seems to always know what he's talking about so he talked me out of it. But just so i dont think im a crazy person..that amp is 1000w @ 2ohm so the gain would be 44.7v...but when i set it to that the sub BARELY hits. Wasnt til we turned the gain up to at least half did it really do much. The suspension seems really stiff, does this thing just need to be broken in before i can turn the gain down? Or is a sealed box just not right for this sub?

Well...went with the ssd copper coil. Got my sealed 2.4cu made and can't wait for tuesday!

I just wanted to get some suggestions/thoughts on a SSD vs Q...which i know theres already been a bunch of topics on this. My friend is very knowledgeable of car audio (BTL fully loaded/kicker 2700w) and hes suggesting for my alpine mrp-m1000 (1000w @ 2ohm)a stock SSD 15" but part of me thinks id be better off with a Q from what ive read on here. I listen to all types of music, mainly rap/electronic. I just want to make sure im not dissapointed..volume wise.. with my next sub purchase (currently 12" type-r in sledgehammer). Thx.
