I completely understand. This is more for the wife to use in my absence. At that price I may pick one up at some point.

That is a very good lens as well. I am going to give this a go because I can always return it for another. The extra range is to get the player that my daughter is doing the scrap book for.

The big plus was the price. $350 and is like brand new with full warrenty.

What did you end up with? It is branded Sony, but made with good glass. Glass is much heavier. DT 16-105 It has an F3.5-5.6, but my camera is showing it at 3.0 at times. The guy talked me out of the zoom based on my 55-200 and felt it was best to replace my cheap 18-55 and add a bit more range and width. So my wife should be able to get good pics when I am not with her. I can't make every football game to watch my daughter cheer, so it was imortant I get her fixed up.

Funny thing is I did not want a Sony lens, based on their knowledge the others were not quite as good. Nerves are racing in hope they were spot on.

The guys at B&H were awesome! They not only know their equipment, but also take the time to assemble it to make sure their info is correct. So with that being said I hope this lens is what I have been looking for without spending 1K or more.

New lens should show up today!

According to Tamron their new line addresses the issues they had previously. The 16-300 was just released in March, so I figure the guys at B&H will have had some play time.
