B&H says it is a good idea. What are your thoughts or is it a no brainer and just pick one up?

My question is; Is there an atvantage to using a UV filter on a DSLR? I am thinking of getting one before I head to the islands to reduce glare.

That is a slim budget for an SLR. I will also make the blanket statement that Sony SLR is not money well spent. I know others love them. Of course they work. You just have less options long term. It instantly limits your options and ability to get a deal.For that budget I might reccomend a point and shoot of nice quality from any brand. Any camera can take great pictures. The SLR just helps you, and allows you more freedom and helps you get better shots. I'm looking to sell my Sony a55 for the right price if you would be interested.Why are you selling? He knows he chose poorly. Why would that be?

Went to my local Sears today and bought a new microwave and stove. I know the owner and he treats me very good.

GOing to set here and maybe drink a little tooo much rum tonight. Anybody want to join?

So the day before I leave for Indy the microwave turns on. I am setting here wondering WTF because I am the only one home. I go out and shut if off, couple minutes later the same thing. Come to find out an hour later that the storm we just had burnt the board out and it need replaced. Lowes gave me their coverage for 3 years. Well I come to find out they only cover the labor and not the parts at this point. Lesson learned no more appliances from Lowes! I removed the microwave and gave it to the junk man!
