Too expensive - but I am going to use 2" x 3" angle aluminum @ 1/4" thick for it soon. Also going to bolt that to the floor board for a good ground to the chassis / to keep the batteries from sliding. That is actually cheaper than copper about equal to what I have. You know my email. This new option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack for a little extra mechanical ability. All of these new features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application. Its just another way of tuning and tailoring your subs to your exact needs. As explained by Scott

People have been doing it for years without one............. Please reread the underlined part of his sentence. He clearly stated that it can be done without one, just merely pointed out that it can be easier in certain vehicles to help create the effect. (at least that last bit was my interpretation). Yes, that is correct.

Deffiently build a sealed enclosure to the spec provided by Fi and compare the difference. I am thinking you may like sealed for you music better than a ported box.
